Chapter Prologue: Shadows in the Daylight
Amid the bustling of Toronto's city streets, Decan Villa Gómez, a 16-year-old with striking chestnut hair and enigmatic dark eyes, trudged his way back from school. A vivid royal blue hockey hoodie clung to him like a beacon of color in the urban sea. Each step echoed on the unforgiving sidewalk, composing an eerie symphony to his journey.
Out of nowhere, a car screeched to a dramatic halt right before him, sunlight dancing off its polished white exterior. From the car's window, a mysterious man, his intentions hidden like a concealed weapon, leaned out with an oddly polite inquiry. Initially dismissive, Decan's unease grew exponentially as the man relentlessly pursued him, his presence cloaked in sinister shadows.
Fear surged through Decan's veins like an electric shock, forcing him into a desperate sprint. He sought sanctuary in a dimly lit alley, convinced he had eluded his pursuer. Yet, in a grotesque twist of fate, he spun around, only to find the man standing eerily by his car, as if he'd materialized from thin air.
A bone-chilling silence yielded to a commanding voice, slicing through the palpable tension, as the man ordered Decan to step into the vehicle. Decan's compliance was devoid of life as he stopped and entered the vehicle. An instant later, the man drove away.
