Chapter 94

Cecilia knew that Christopher had once participated in Peacekeeping Forces, but she had never expected their paths to have crossed before. After all, they were eight years apart in age.

Her memory rewound to the day she had joined the Peacekeeping Forces.

Cecilia had only been 16 years old at that time. Although she had ranked first in all the assessments, she had not been old enough.

It had been the eldest son of the Shaw family who had pulled some strings to get her in.

Before Cecilia had entered Peacekeeping Forces, she had heard about a legendary figure, someone whose mere presence had ensured the success of any mission. On the way to the orientation meeting, Evan emphasized, "Ceci, you must pay close attention to the instructor's speech later. It will be a lifelong benefit for you."

Cecilia had immediately guessed who the instructor would have been, "Is it Devil?"

This codename had been chosen for the enemy.

True to its name, Devil had become a terrifying presence after several missions that had struck fear into their enemies.

Evan had nodded. "Yes, it's him. Unfortunately, he is going to retire. Otherwise, I would have asked him to mentor you." Cecilia had been young and had had a fierce determination at that time. "Evan, I will surpass Devil, and have my codename appear on the glorious wall. It will be in the most prominent place." She had been determined.

Christopher had heard this as he had walked passed Cecilia, but he hadn't cared much.

Many people had wanted to surpass him, but no one had been able to do so.

Evan had recognized Christopher as he had strode away, but he hadn't told Cecilia.

"Cecì, we did not put you in the Peacekeeping Forces to risk your life but to broaden your hor**ons and learn about teamwork. All you have to do is help from behind."

The Shaw family had arranged for Cecilia to join the Peacekeeping Forces only to help with her empathy disorder. Cecilia had said seriously, "Evan, when I do something, I'll do it to the best of my ability. One day, I will have my own codename, Savior, reserved for allies!"

For those who hadn't been to the front line, they only had serial numbers, not codenames.

In other words, Cecilia had decided to be on the frontline.

Evan had known that once she had made up her mind, no one could have changed it, so he sighed helplessly.

"Ceci, we won't interfere with your decision. But please don't overexert yourself."

"I won't," she had assured him.

Almost everyone had been present when the siblings arrived at the welcome party.

Everyone's face had been hidden behind thick makeup,

making it impossible to discern their identities. They had worn serial number badges on their chests.

This had been done to protect everyone's privacy in case someone had betrayed and revealed their comrades' true identities.

Sarson's face would have

been different, helping to confirm their identities. Cecilia and Evan had separated and found their seats. Christopher had begun his speech as the new instructor. "The first lesson I'm going to teach is disguise, from appearance to voice, from height to physique, from..."

His voice had been deep and deliberate, clearly an intentional disguise.

The content of his speech had been all practical knowledge, and Cecilia had listened to it carefully.

Christopher had remembered the young girl's bold words and decided to single her out for a demonstration.

Cecilia had passed with flying colors, earning her a comment. from Christopher, "A promising future."

He had meant it.

Christopher had become even more convinced over the next half month of special training.

Cecilia had ranked first in all tests and broken several of his records.

Later, when he had retired, Cecilia had spent a year making the codename "Savior" a symbol of fear among their enemies.

She had once thought she could have surpassed her legendary instructor, but the betrayal three years ago had shattered everything.

The memories stopped there.

Cecilia stared at Christopher's face, unable to connect him with the stern instructor from back then.

Christopher smiled gently. "Don't you believe it? Do you believe it now?"

In his last sentence, he used the same disguised voice as before. The voice was so familiar that Cecilia immediately recognized The True Lady Strikes Back

it.

She asked, "When did you find out? After our confrontation last time?"

Christopher nodded. "You were too exceptional, very distinctive. I confirmed your identity that same night."

So, when he got the call from Evan to protect Cecilia, he wasn't surprised at all.

He knew there was someone behind Cecilia when he first saw her.

However, he didn't know who it was.

Cecilia withdrew her gaze, entered the password, and turned on the computer. Then she said, "You truly live up to your reputation in Peacekeeping Forces. I've lost." She didn't just lose because she didn't discover Christopher's identity.

She also lost because, in her numerous missions, she had learned about Devil's prowess.

She had wanted to catch up with him. She had tried to surpass him but always admired him like an idol.

Now that their identities had been revealed, Cecilia's feelings. for Christopher grew stronger.

Christopher knew that Cecilia needed time to process this revelation, so he said no more. He closed his eyes to rest.

Due to his weak body, he was quite sleepy, but he couldn't sleep.

Her mind was filled with memories of Cecilia during her training.

It was so nice that someone he once admired had now become his sweetheart.

When Cecilia was busy with her business, she concentrated on it and eventually put Christopher out of her mind.

It took her nearly an hour to find information on three locations where fake certificates were made. She then sent the evidence to the police.

Soon, the fake certificates operation was raided and all those who had used their services were recorded in the system.

By midnight, the information for over a thousand fake certificates had been entered.

However, Cecilia couldn't find any trace of the blond-haired

man.

She wasn't discouraged and was about to continue searching for plastic surgery clinics,

Just then, Christopher's phone rang.

He had been awake the whole time, resting with his eyes closed.

He opened his eyes immediately when the phone rang.

He had been monitoring Gordon's phone. It turned out it was the kidnappers calling him on time.

Cecilia immediately set aside her computer and walked over to the bedside.

Soon, a male robotic voice came through the phone. "It's time. Are the 200 million dollars ready?"

Gordon replied anxiously, "It's been ready for a while. Is my daughter okay? I want to speak with her." The next second, Juliana's weak voice came through.

"Dad, don't give them the money. I..."

Her words stopped abruptly, followed by the crisp sound of a slap.

It would sound like the slap had landed on Juliana's face to the untrained ear, but it had actually hit her arm.

Gordon's anxious voice trembled, "Please don't hurt my

daughter. I will give you the money. Let her go."

The male robotic voice asked, "You didn't report this to the police, did you?"

Gordon calmly said, "No." He looked at the police officers, still checking his phone's location.

"I hope you're telling the truth. You'll learn the meaning of regret." After that, the phone was hung up.

The call lasted only 30 seconds, and the police could not pinpoint the exact location. All they knew was that the signal came from the eastern suburb.

The police immediately launched an investigation, while Gordon continued to wait for the kidnappers to call.

The police captain secretly called Christopher and informed. him of the situation.

"Mr. Forte, your signal-tracking ability is strong. See if you can. narrow down the location."

Christopher looked at the flashing red dot on his phone and calmly said, "Okay, wait for my update."
