The Transfer

Chapter 78 - The Other Guys

"Do you think you two could shut up?" Jax hissed at Bodie and Gwendoline. I raised my eyebrows at my brother and reached across the table, punching his arm.

I looked back to Bodie and Gwendoline with a polite smile. They both laughed at me and Gwendoline winked.

Bodie pulled Gwendoline closer to him, and she wrapped her arms around him as he kissed the crescent shaped moon on her neck. She smiled weakly.

Gwendoline was officially Bodie's mate. She was also Lauri's little sister. Gwendoline was visiting Lauri for a week, and it just happened to be that Bodie and her met the night we arrived in Terialta. Convenient.

"We need to discuss a plan, Ali. You can't stay here,” Beckett said as he sat at the table. He drank from his coffee mug and put it back down as Lauri walked over and sat on his lap. She winked at me.

"The first place Henry will think to look will be here. He'll come, and you'll be forced to go back. Not to mention, Liam will probably be here in moments once he realises that you're here,” Beckett said. Rae chuckled from across the table.

"Aw man, Liam. I miss that guy!" Rae said through chuckles as Samaya nudged his arm. Jax chuckled lightly from next to me.

"Where else could we go? I'm not going back to Henry. Not if he's going to throw me in the damn dungeons again. He'll probably try to kill me for setting Mira and Bodie free too,” I shrugged at Beckett. I held my mug close and let the warmth come through the cup and onto my hands. Beckett screwed up his face until Samaya piped up. "What about up south? With Liam's family? That's too far for Henry to go, and I'm sure no one would think you'd go up there.”

I nodded slowly and looked to Beckett for approval. He nodded at me and grabbed his phone from his pocket. He slid it across the table to me.

"I have their number. Call. Organise it. Bodie, you will go with her. They'll bring you back if they find you here too," Beckett said, looking to Bodie. He nodded at him.

"What about me?" Gwendoline asked. I noticed Bodie squeeze her waist. I longed for Liam to do the same to me. I missed him badly.

"You can go with, but I swear to god, if you die, I'll march up there and I'll kick your damn ass," Lauri hissed out. Her sister smirked and Lauri smiled weakly.

"What happens if Henry does march up here looking for me?" I asked. I had told Beckett and the others everything. They knew all about what Henry had done.

Jax growled lowly. "I'll tear off his fucking head.”

I elbowed him in the side and he only shrugged at me. I rolled my eyes and looked to Beckett. He rubbed his chin in thought.

"We'll tell him nothing. He's not our Alpha. We don't owe him anything. What happens in the pack, stays in the pack," Beckett said simply. I nodded, not wanting to argue.

"Go make the call, sis,” Samaya nodded to me. I stood and nodded. I grabbed Beckett's phone and left the room. I found Nicolas’ name in his contacts and I called.

I stood in my room and sat on the end of the bed. The phone rang three times before the ringing stopped and I heard Nicolas speak.

My heart was racing already.

"Hey Beckett, what can I do for you?" Nicolas answered. I smiled at my uncle's voice. I missed my other family.

"Hi Nicolas. It's Alison," I said. I heard whispers on the other line.

"Hi Alison! How's it going? What are you doing calling from Beckett's phone?" Nicolas asked me. I assumed he was with Chris and possibly Mason.

"I'm in trouble, Nicolas. I need some help,” I told him straight out. I sense his confusion immediately. "Trouble? Like what, Ali?" Nicolas asked me. I sighed out and shook my head. I couldn't tell him over the phone. I had to speak to him in person.

"I won't say it over the phone. It's much too confusing. I'll wait until we're in person... but Nicolas, me and a few others need a safe place to stay for a while,” I told him quickly. I wanted to get out of Terialta as soon as possible before Henry showed up.

"A safe place? Oh! You can come stay with me. For however long you need," Nicolas rushed out. I cleared my throat slightly.

"It'll be me, two of my brothers, and two others. Is that okay?" I asked him slowly. I knew that I was asking a lot of him. It would be even more if I had to ask them to lie to Henry for me.

I didn't expect Nicolas to keep me safe forever. I knew that I'd eventually had to return to Takiani. I couldn't avoid it.

"I have an empty house out in the woods that you could all use," Nicolas told me. I nodded and fiddled with my nails.

It was already organised that wherever I went, Jax and Rae were going to accompany me. Beckett and Samaya had to stay, because they had to look after the pack.

"I promise that the news I have for you is worth all the trouble we've been through over the last few months. It solves everything,” I told Nicolas. I heard him suck in a deep breath

"Alright. I look forward to another one of our meetings, Ali. When will you be coming down?" Nicolas sighed out. I smiled weakly as I stood.

"I think we're planning to leave today. Is that alright?" I asked him.

"Sounds fine, kiddo. See you then,” Nicolas said. I nodded and hung up the phone.

I exhaled and left my room. I headed down the hallway and moved back into the kitchen. I gave Beckett his phone again and nodded at him.

"Nicolas has a house we can stay in. He said we could stay for however long we wanted,” I told him. Beckett nodded, looking satisfied. He drank from his mug.

"We should leave straight away... we don't want to risk Henry showing up while you're still around. He will have figured out you escaped by now,” Rae said. I nodded in agreement. I didn't want to be around Henry.

I could kill him. I was thinking about it.

"Pack up whatever you might need. We'll take the truck for most of the way. Leaving in ten minutes,” Jax said, nudging my arm. I nodded as I stood. I motioned for Gwendoline to come with me. She got up from Bodie's lap and followed me down to my room.

I helped her pack a bag full of clothes. She had been staying in my room while I wasn't around, and we had slept in the same room the night before. I crashed on an air mattress and Bodie and Gwendoline took the bed.

I was thankful they were respectful enough not to do anything funky on it.

I wasn't absolutely sure where they'd found the time to mark each other. I definitely didn't want to know where they did it either.

Within ten minutes, our bags were packed and we had loaded everything into the truck. I looked to Beckett who was already smiling at me.

"Stay safe kid. Come home soon," he told me. I nodded as I hugged him. Beckett kissed the top of my head before I hugged Lauri.

"See you soon, Luna," I teased as I pulled away. She rolled her eyes at me and playfully pushed me away from her. Beckett slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her close.

I hugged Samaya. He held me tight and grunted as he released me. "Don't go getting yourself killed. Look after her okay? I'll kill both of you,” Samaya said, making sure to warn Rae and Jax also. We all laughed as Samaya turned me and around and motioned for me to get into the truck. I walked over to it and jumped in.

I felt sad to be leaving so soon, but I knew it was the best option. It was the safest thing for Bodie and I. I didn't know what Henry would do if he found Bodie. Would he kill him? Put him back in the dungeons?

What the hell would he do with me?

He didn't know that I knew about him and his evil past. Right? Whilst he didn't know that I knew, I was a little more safe. I hoped.

The truck drove quickly through the woods. Jax tapped his fingers against the steering wheel along with the beat from the song playing on the radio. Rae was resting, exhausted.

Bodie and Gwendoline looked like they were trying to sleep also. I realised that it was a good idea to get some shuteye, so I closed my eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep.

"Wakey wakey, loser. We're here," Jax's voice chanted. I sat up in my seat and sighed. I blinked a few times, stretched and then got out the truck.

We were parked in the woods, the truck surrounded by people. I smiled sleepily at Nicolas and Chris who approached me.

"Hi there," I mumbled to them. Nicolas hugged me tight, and then Chris did the same.

"You look like shit, kid. I'm hoping that your big news will explain that,” Chris said as he patted my back. I noticed Nicolas looking around.

"No Liam?" He questioned. He looked a little doubtful and confused. I shook my head at him "You'll see soon enough,” I told him. He nodded, taking that as a good enough answer. Then, he motioned for everyone to follow him.

I looked to where my bags where on the ground, and I reached for them. But I was stopped by a familiar guy. Donovan.

"Donovan!" I grinned at him. He chuckled and hugged me. I held onto him tightly before I stepped away.

"Hey there. Got yourself into more trouble back home?" Donovan asked me as he grabbed both my small suitcases. We turned and we began to walk, catching up to the others.

"As always," I said with a small smile. I sighed out as my head began to hurt again.

I often had headaches. Beckett had already told me it was because of my separation with Liam. I needed to be with him. The bond was weakening. He needed to be with me. We had to be with each other.

I would see him soon. I knew it.

We got to the house I would be staying in and I smiled weakly. It was a cute little cottage. It didn't look too fancy and I didn't want it to be. It was perfect for the time I was staying.

"Get your things inside and then sit down for a chat. It's important that we talk. Donovan, you should go look after your sisters,” Nicolas said. Donovan nodded as we walked inside. He set the bags down by the door and I picked them up instead. He nodded at me and smiled before he left.

I picked the last room in the hall. It had a double sized bed, a nightstand and a cupboard for my clothes. It wasn't anything special, but it was good enough.

I was more than thankful that Nicolas was kind enough to let me and so many others stay.

I made my way back down the hallway and to the living room where everyone was already seated. I looked to Bodie, who still looked half asleep. He had Gwendoline on his lap again, but it was obvious he was close to falling asleep.

I didn't mind. He knew everything anyway.

"I finally found proof that Henry is a traitor,” I said straight away. Nicolas and Chris looked at me with wide eyes.

"What? Really?" Nicolas gasped out. He sounded quite shocked. He was going to be even more shocked when I told him the full story.

I wondered how they would react when I told them that Henry was responsible for the death of their brother.

I nodded at him and sat with my hands in my lap. I needed to finish the story quickly so I could go back to my room and take a nap. I still hadn't recovered completely from being kept in the cells. I still had a lot of burns from the silver, as well as fractured ribs, and bad bruising all around my torso "I found a group of witches that Henry had been hiding out in a valley a while out from the pack. They knew who I was, and they told me everything. They showed me things too,” I explained. I felt anxious to break the news to them. They were surely going to be furious about what I knew.

I wondered what Liam would think. Or Lila and Leon. Even Lucas. Would they break down or would they turn to rage?

I began to explain the whole story to the group of them. I tried to be as detailed as possible, and I left out the worst part and left it for last. I didn't know how they would react and I didn't want to be in the way of two angry and very strong Alphas.

I finished my story and looked to Rae and Jax who sat beside me. They both nodded encouragingly. I sighed. I couldn't keep quiet. I had to tell them.

"Before I left, the two dark magic witches showed me something. It was like a vision. A vision of the past,” I said. I eyed the two Alphas curiously.

"It was the day of Adrian and Miriam's death. I was by the river, where all the bodies were. There were only rogues, and... Henry," I started slowly. The two males hadn't stitched two and two together yet and I was nervous for when they did.

"Rogues were holding Miriam down on her knees, Adrian was already dead. His throat was slit, his blood bleeding out into the river water," I said, my voice cracking a little. Remembering it was brutal. I didn't want to see it again.

They were supposed to be my second family. They were supposed to be my second parents. I didn't have anything. Thanks to Henry.

"Henry killed them both. Henry was the one who killed your brother, and Miriam," I said.

I watched Nicolas’ and Chris’ reactions. They both looked shocked, barely angry. I knew they had moved on from Adrian's death, but it would always be a sensitive topic.

I was surprised they weren't lashing out. It had been so long since the attack. Years and years. They had moved on, but if it were my family, I would have ran out the door raging already.

I felt terrible for the both of them. I wondered when they'd tell Mason and their mates. What about the children?

Nicolas sucked in a deep breath and he nodded. He reacted slowly, clenching his fists. Chris looked distraught from next to him. I didn't know what was going to happen next.

"Far out, Ali," Chris said as he shook his head. I hated that I was the one to break the news to them, but I knew it was the right thing to do.

"Go home. Go talk to your mates," Rae said. Nicolas nodded quickly in agreement as he stood. He motioned for Chris to stand as well.

"I'm sorry," I said to them both. The two males looked to me and nodded swiftly before they left. They were hurting. They didn't know how to express it. They needed to be home with their families. "Good job, Ali. I know that was hard. But you need to rest now. Go to bed," Rae told me. He stood and offered his hand to me.

I took it and he pulled me up. I thanked him and then turned and headed to my room. I let the silent tears fall as I padded into my room and collapsed onto the bed.
