Chapter 93
Chapter 93 She Must Be Angry
Liam hung up the phone harshly after hearing the cold voice from the end of the receiver. Unwilling to give up. Liam called the number once again. He then hung up the phone after receiving the same response.
Gwyneth’s car was left in the parking lot, her bracelet was found in the corner, and her phone was turned off for no apparent reason. Even if Liam did not want to admit it, he knew he had to investigate the situation.
‘Something must have happened to that woman…‘ Liam’s heart throbbed a little when he thought about it. Just as he was ready to leave the building. he saw Elizabeth running toward him.
Elizabeth was a little out of breath in front of Liam. However, she could tell that Liam’s expression was particularly abnormal. “What’s
wrong. Liam?”
“Did you see Gwyneth when you were coming over just now? She’s gone,” Liam asked patiently. He did not want to let go of any possibility
at that moment.
Elizabeth was overjoyed when she heard Liam’s words. ‘Seems like Kingsley’s plan was a success.”
Though Elizabeth was happy on the inside, she looked worried on the outside. She shook her head and looked into Liam’s eyes. “I didn’t see Ms. Glen. It’s broad daylight. I don’t think anything would’ve happened to her,” she said with certainty. Following that, she pretended
to look around the area.
“Don’t worry, Liam. I’ll look for her with you. I’m sure she’s fine.”
Liam was desperate at the moment. He surprisingly felt a sense of comfort after hearing Elizabeth’s words. However, his sudden deep gaze still startled her.
“I meant to say I don’t think something happened to Ms. Glen, but maybe she’s still unhappy about the misunderstanding.”
“Misunderstanding?” Liam tried to be as patient as possible, not understanding what Elizabeth was trying to say.
“You know… That time in the office… When Ms. Glen saw you hugging me…” Before Elizabeth could finish her speech, she met Liam’s gaze
and abruptly held herself back from saying anything further.
Liam was not 100% sure that something had happened to Gwyneth, but he knew that she would not have intentionally missed his calls
because of that matter. There was no particular reason as to why he would think so. He could not even explain himself if asked, but he
was certain he was right.
Liam did not respond to Elizabeth. Instead, he pushed past her and walked back toward the event hall. Liam did not go back to the
auction. He went to the office at the back of the building and met with the event organizer.
“Mr. Luther, what brings you here? The auction doesn’t seem to be over yet.” Though the other party held the auction, he knew he needed to be respectful when speaking to Liam. He did not know what others were thinking but did his best to keep his reputation.
“You’re the organizer for this auction, right?” Liam asked, trying to suppress his emotions and anger as much as possible. However, the look on his face and the tone of his voice still scared the organizer, so much so that his face suddenly turned pale.
“Yes, Mr. Luther. I am the person–in–charge of today’s event. Is there something wrong, Mr. Luther?”
“I need you to help me retrieve the surveillance video for the underground parking lot.”
The person–in–charge was momentarily taken aback when he heard this. After ensuring he had not misheard Liam’s request, he spoke again with a smile. “Is there a good reason for this, Mr. Luther? Logically speaking, you are not entitled to see our security camera footage…”
“I need to check the surveillance because I can’t get ahold of Ms. Glen suddenly. It’s for her safety.”
With that, the organizer of the auction was almost brought to tears. He did not understand why he would be involved in such a mess.
“If anything happens to Gwyneth, the CEO of Glen Corporation and AMC Group, then…” While Liam said that, he gritted his teeth as his voice was extremely cold. “I’m sure you know the consequences. After all, you are a sensible person. You should know better than me what is important.”
The atmosphere around them suddenly became stagnant for a while. In the end, the organizer broke out in cold sweat. He nodded in submission and led Liam to the security room. He then ordered the staff in charge of surveillance to retrieve the security footage for the
19
underground parking lot.
“Which one of these security cameras captures the second row of parking spots near the entrance?” Liam spoke in a deep voice. The aura he was emitting made those around him feel suppressed. The security staff did not dare to slack around. He quickly found the security camera footage that Liam asked about but discovered everything was black.
“T–The security camera is broken…” The employee softly said as he could feel the burning gaze behind him, wanting to set him on fire.
“But it was fine this morning. We even double–checked it.”
“There’s no way that all of this is just a coincidence,’ thought Liam as he clenched his fists. There was a stern look behind his eyes.” Something must’ve happened to that woman.”
