Chapter 111 Ready to Acquire The Clem Group 

Henry was startled to hear Gwyneth’s words, but he said nothing. He had caused Aubrey’s Injury and was already feeling guilty. He could not bear his girlfriend attempting to falsely accuse Aubrey. 

When Henry brought up legal action, the woman gained newfound strength and escaped his hold. She threatened, “Take me to court? Are you trying to terrify me? Tell you what! I’m the daughter of the Clems!” 

“The Clems?” 

Gwyneth did not repeat this on purpose, she was bewildered because she had never heard of this family before. 

Gwyneth and Aubrey were viewed as inexperienced and green by that woman. Ms. Clem stated, “What? You haven’t heard of Clem Group? We’re in the jewelry business, and I’m their heiress!” 

Henry stood aside and started to worry about his ex–girlfriend. 

“Oh, the Clems…” 

Gwyneth gave a thoughtful nod, and a smile flickered in her eyes. She found this woman hilarious. 

“What do you say? Do you feel fear? If you did, then let’s…” 

Ms. Clem spoke triumphantly, but then she saw Gwyneth pulling out her phone from her pocket. 

Henry watched from the side with his arms crossed. He let out a slight sigh. 

Gwyneth wore a blank expression as she spoke on the phone, but her gaze was focused on Ms. Clem’s puzzled expression. She instructed, “Wesley, I need you to look into Clem Group. The family is in the jewelry business.” 

Ms. Clem was more confused and unsure of what was going on after hearing this. 

Gwyneth was smiling when she said this, but the smile stopped short of her eyes. She asked, “Did you find it? Very good. Send a message 

to this company that we will buy it.” 

After that, Gwyneth hung up the phone. Her attitude gave the impression that this was a trivial matter. 

Ms. Clem’s heart thumped ferociously, and her palms were covered in sweat. She tried to look brave, even though her heart was racing and she was a little pale. She stated, “Are you bluffing me with this act? I can do the same thing too. If I were you, I’d do it better and 

pretend to be…” 

Her phone rang while she was talking back to Gwyneth. When she realized it was her mother calling, she picked up the phone right away. 

She said nothing after picking up the phone, but her complexion became paler and paler. In the end, her knees gave way, and she nearly collapsed to the ground. When she hung up, her fingers were trembling. Only then did she realize she had messed with the wrong person. 

She swallowed unconsciously, dared not to look at Gwyneth, then spun around and grabbed Henry’s arm. She pleaded with a tearful voice, “Henry, please help me. You need to beg her for me, I’ve no idea, I didn’t know…” 

If she had known who Gwyneth was, she would never have had the guts to confront her. 

Henry did not even blink and remained unfazed as he replied coldly. “If you had admitted your mistake and apologized just now, none of this would have happened.” 

Ms. Clem could not believe what she just heard, her eyes widened in despair. She asked. “You–What do you mean?” 

Henry continued. “What I mean is that we must accept responsibility for our actions as adults. I can’t help you now.” 

When Gwyneth heard this, she glanced at Henry and thought of something. 

Ms. Clem felt as though her last glimmer of hope had vanished. She burst into tears and covered her face with her hands. 

Her mother had called to let her know that AMC Group was going to take over their family’s company by force. The so–called forced acquisition was merely a polite way of saying that this was an annexation. She would no longer be the affluent Clems‘ daughter if that happened. 

She gritted her teeth as if she were going through a tremendous mental battle. She turned around and kneeled down in front of Gwyneth 

Gwyneth cast a downward glance at the woman kneeling before her and showed no emotion. She was immune to these apologetic tears and no longer had any sympathy after fighting on her own for years. 

In other words, if she had forgiven everyone who came to her and begged for forgiveness, she would have already been devoured by them. and they would not have left any bones behind. 

Gwyneth took a step back, pushed the ward door open, and said, “Ms. Clem, apologizing is meaningless for me. You can tell me whatever you want, but I’m not the one who was hurt.” 2 

Ms. Clem almost crawled up and rushed into the ward when she heard this. She stood in front of Aubrey, crying bitterly, and pleaded, “Ms. Ann, I’ve made a mistake. Everything is my fault. I didn’t distinguish between right and wrong, please forgive me.“
