THE SWEET TASTE OF LOVE (ENGLISH VERSION)

Chapter 23

EVEN though she was late to sleep last night, Tamara was up at dawn preparing the house for Clark's arrival.

"Oh, Tamara. What's wrong with you, it's so early in the morning you are cleaning?" So said the aunt.

Tamara stopped what she was doing and faced her aunt. "Auntie, I have something to say to you!" She came near her. "Let's sit down first, Auntie." There was a look of wonder on Emily's face as to why they still had to sit down, but she followed her niece's lead. "Alright, what's that, Tamara?" "Auntie, it's about Clark. He called last night...

"Called?" Didn't you spend the whole night together? Did he forget to tell you something? Or, just say goodnight and say "I love you!"

Well, what her auntie said was right, but there was more to it. "Auntie, he told me something."

"Oh, say it."

"Auntie, is it okay for you that they are coming today?"

Emily stared hard at her niece. Tamara was nervous that she might object to what was happening.

"Do you really love him, Tamara?"

"Yes, auntie, even though things happened quickly with Clark, I love him!"

"Eh, who am I to object if you get married, Clark? He won't ask you to marry him if you don't love him." I wish you happiness, Tamara. " Tamara approached her aunt and hugged her. "Thank you so much, auntie," she said.

We might end up crying this morning. Alright, I'll help you clean up. What time will they be here?"

"Before lunch, Auntie."

Then, after we clean up, I'll go to the market. And cook something that we can present to them. It must be special. I'll cook my best recipe." "Auntie, thank you so much!" Tamara was tearfully grateful.

"Oh, this girl, that's nothing. What else are we doing? Ready to rambo!" She, too, was pumped about what was going to happen today.

Tamara and her auntie worked together on the housework until Tamara told the aunt that she was going to market now and she would finish everything. Emily immediately went to the market. After Emily returned home, they also worked together to prepare what they were going to cook.

Clark was ready just before 10 o'clock. He's so excited about this day that it can be seen in his eyes that it's still shining like a star.

"Mommy, daddy, are you ready?" He asked while he walked down the stairs.

"We are ready, son. We have been waiting for you for a while now."

"Hmmm, I thought I was the excited one." But you, mommy, and daddy are even more excited!"

"Well yes, we are so excited about our grandson!" Clark's mother smiled.

"I am too, mommy." I cannot wait to see my son and my daughter.

"Have you buried it, son?" The lady's voice was happy.

"Mommy, not yet! It will be done after our wedding!"

"Hmmm, that may be a good man!"

"Enough talking now, there is a lot of time you chat, let's go now," the gentleman said herto t. en

"Mommy, where is Nana Mabel?"

"Why are you looking for her, son?"

"I would like to take her because I told her that I would introduce her to Tamara."

"Okay, go tell her, so we can leave." because they know that Mabel is important to their son.

When Clark returned to the living room with Nana Mabel, "Let's go."

They are happy to go out of their home.

Nana Mabel was smiling because Clark had not forgotten her.

"Tamara, go take a shower now while I finish cooking."

"Alright, auntie, you too."

"Yes, go ahead and take care of yourself."

Tamara's response to her aunt was a smile.

Tamara's actions were fast. She was also very excited that she would be Mrs. Generoso soon.

She is just simple in her clothes and has no make-up, just a little baby powder she put on her face.

It was eleven a. m. when Clark arrived at Tamara's house. They have quite a bit of traffic on the road.

"We are here, mommy, daddy, Nana Mabel." Clark taught them.

"Then let go, so we can talk about everything." the gentleman said.

When Clark got out of the car, the neighbors looked at them with surprise on their faces.

Clark's mom noticed this. "Son, maybe they don't know what's going to happen here."

"Mommy, don't mind them."

"Okay, but when they find out, others think this or that because their neighbor is getting married soon."

"Well, maybe they're not close to them," the spouse responded.

When Clark entered the yard, his parents followed. People were also following them.

"Who are those?" A lady asked.

"Hey! Your itchy tongues are again going to gossip. Whatever they're up to, we don't care! " The old woman says to them

They quickly gathered and entered their house.

Clark did not knock, but he called Tamara.

When Tamara's cell phone rang, she quickly picked it up to see who was calling when she saw a sweet smile appear. "Hello," she answered immediately.

"Hello, honey. Are you ready?"

"Yes."

"Good, open the door now, honey."

"Huh? "Are you guys outside?"

"Yes, honey."

Tamara was suddenly nervous and excited.

"Alright, I'm going to the door now."

"See you, honey!"

Tamara hurried out of her room. Her voice shook with nervousness.

"Tamara, what are you doing? Take it easy yourself."

"Eh, Aunt. I'm really nervous!"

"Go ahead and open the door."

"Auntie, can we go together please?"

They smiled and headed for the door.

When they open "Good morning, Auntie!" Clark happily greeted the lady he saw first.

"Same to you, Clark. Come in. "

When they entered, Tamara nervously greeted Clark's companions. "Good morning, ma'am, sir."

Clark's mother faced Tamara with a smile. "Hija, you should call us mommy and daddy." You'll be part of our family now. And she's Mabel, the one who raised Clark." She turned to their companion. She was embarrassed enough to call them mommy and daddy.

"Okay, I understand hija, but don't call us ma'am, sir. Auntie and uncle and Nana Mabel, should be nice, right? If you can't call us mommy and daddy for now."

Clark smiled. He knows Tamara is so shy with her parents.

"Let's sit down first," Emily invited.

And before they talked about marriage, they first introduced themselves to each other. And Emily invited them to eat lunch first before anything else.

Nana Mabel helped them to prepare the food. At first, Tamara didn't want to, but Nana Mabel said it was okay to help them. So they helped each other prepare for their lunch.

After they finished eating, they sat in the living room again. "So, let's start to talk about their coming wedding." Clark's mother said.

Alright, but I'll let you know first, the only thing we can help you with is a simple meal!" Emily said.

"Auntie, Emily. Don't worry, everything is going fine. I will take care of it."

"Clark, I know you can do it all, but we also need to have something to contribute, right?"

"Okay, if that's what you want, Emily. You just take care of a dresser. I'm referring to various types of rice cakes. They said it's nice to have something sticky on the table so they don't get separated, they're stuck together no matter what they go through."

Emily nodded. She believed in what Clark's mother taught.

Because the engagement was done already, they talked about the wedding and three months from now on. So they were very busy preparing.

Sometimes Emily is the only one standing in their shop; sometimes it's closed because they're busy preparing for the wedding.

They had arranged everything two days before their wedding.

Tamara was lying in bed when her cellphone rang.

It's Clark. Why? She spoke to herself first. She cleared her throat before saying hello and she answered. "Hello, Clark."

"Honey, I'm outside your house."

"Because I miss you!"

"Clark!" But she was smiling.

"Really, honey? Please come out first and let's talk because tomorrow I won't be able to see you and talk to you. You know that, right?"

"Okay, wait for me."

"Yes, honey."

Tamara first checked to see if her auntie was still awake, but she was already asleep. She rushed out of the house and saw Clark standing by the gate. "Clark?" She opened the hatch.

When Clark entered, he immediately hugged her. "I really miss you, honey!"

"Let's sit down first."

They sat down on the wooden chair. "You miss me a lot. Why are you here?" But Clark, it's late; what if you get hurt on the way?"

"That won't happen, because we're going to make a happy family."

Tamara hugs him even though she misses him. Even though they are always together, it's still different. This is their chance alone. "Tamara, Carmina's coming to our wedding."

"He's your friend, isn't he?"

"Yes, old friend."

"Couldn't she object?"

"For what, honey?"

"I think she loves you."

"Yes, but I don't love her." You are the one I love! "

But, just in case, what would you do?

"Hmmm, I'll throw her out of the church." No one can stop our wedding, honey. No One! "

"Neither me nor I will allow our wedding to fail."

"Hmmm, what would you do if that happened?" He repeated what she said.

"I will kill her!" Tamara's attitude is serious.

Clark lifted her face to see if she was joking.

Tamara's made her face so serious.

"Are you serious, honey?" He is still frowning.

"This is a joke!" She smiled.

"Naughty you, because of that I gave you this." Clark said as he kissed her beloved.
