Chapter 17
AFTER finishing eating because it was still early, Clark told Tamara that they should go to the mall for a walk first. They went to Robinson. Clark wants them to watch a movie first, but it's too late when they go out because Tamara's aunt might worry if they stay up too late, so they'll just go for a walk.
As they walked, Tamara looked at the clothes displayed in the shops because they were beautiful. Clark noticed this. "You want to look at something inside?" he says.
Tamara shook her head. She had money with her, but it wasn't enough if they went inside.
"Are you sure, honey?"
Tamara nodded with a smile. She's going to buy clothes. She'll just go with her auntie Emily.
Actually, Clark wanted to bring Tamara inside the shop, especially Zara, but he stopped himself; it wasn't the right time.
When they were tired, they went to Starbucks to buy something to drink. After buying, they also left to go home.
After Clark brought home Tamara, he didn't go inside because he wanted her to rest. "Go, honey, take a rest, okay." "Alright, be careful on the road." Tamara replied.
Clark just stood there, and Tamara wondered. "Why?" she asked.
"How about my kiss? I mean, my goodnight kiss, honey?"
Tamara smiled. There was a shyness she felt, but what she did was a quick kiss on Clark's cheek.
Clark shook his head and smiled. Well, he wanted on his lips, but it's okay that they have a lot of days coming for them to be together. "Goodnight, honey." "Goodnight, be careful!" she said again.
Clark nodded and got into his car.
Tamara went inside when Clark was gone. She opened the door slowly, knowing that her aunt was already asleep.
When she entered her room, she just changed her clothes and went to bed with a smile on her face. She feels good because her date with Clark went smoothly.
When Clark arrived at their house, he was surprised to see that his mother was sitting in the living room. "Mommy, what are you doing here?" he asked as he approached his mother.
The lady stood up and greeted her son with a hug. "I miss you. That's why I'm here, son.
"Why didn't you say you were coming home today so I could pick you up, mom?"
The lady shook her head. "I want you to be surprised, son."
"Oh, yeah, you did, mommy."
"I thought you weren't coming home tonight, son. Is that the party you went to, it's early to finish?"
Clark smiled. "Mom, isn't a party. It's a date! "
This isn't something new for the lady. "Date? Really, son? You mean, you asked a woman to date you?" Clark's mother's voice sounds like she wouldn't believe it if he dated a woman. Because she always knows a woman asked him to go on a date, not him.
"Mom, like you don't believe it. But yes, mom, I did that!"
The lady was smiling at what she heard from her son. She was happy. "Finally, son. We're just waiting for you to build a family."
"Don't worry, mommy, soon I will have that."
"Really, when that soon? Many soon were coming. "
Clark hugged his mother. "Mommy," I promise, you will meet her. "
"Of course you must do that if not I will be sad or angry to you son."
"Isn't gonna happen that, mom I make sure you will be happy."
"Good my son this is fantastic news for me!"
"Mommy, go to rest. I know you're tired from your long trip. You shouldn't have waited for me."
"Yeah, I'm tired, son, but I want to see you before I go to sleep, son. So, now I can sleep well because you are here at home." "Let's go upstairs, mommy."
The lady nodded, and Clark supported her mother as they walked to the stairs.
In the morning, as Clark told Tamara that they could not open their shop first. That's why Emily cleans the house. Let the niece sleep.
Because Tamara is used to waking up early."Auntie, let me do the cleaning." Tamara said when she saw her auntie working.
"Why did you wake up early, Tamara?"
"Auntie, we always wake up at this time, right?"
"Yes, but we won't open today. Our day off?"
Tamara smiled at what she heard from her.
"Day off? Then we go out, Auntie."
"Yes, Where do you want to go?"
Tamara thought that she hadn't been out for a long time since she was helping out at her aunt's shop. Well, except for what happened last night with Clark. That was their date. "Auntie, in MOA."
"Oh okay, so we can buy you new clothes."
"Auntie, let me help you, so we can finish quickly."
"It's even better."
Tamara and Emily enthusiastically helped clean the house so they could leave immediately.
"Clark, son, Are you going somewhere today?" While they were having breakfast, the mother said, "It's already late for breakfast; it's already lunch because he woke up late." Well, he had a good sleep last night. "Well at my office, mommy, but I may not come in today." Because tonight I have a gala party to attend. Why, mommy?
"All right, then come with me," the lady said, her face relaxed.
"Come? Where, Mommy? " Clark wanted to frown, but he didn't want to show his mother.
"What else, shopping, son? Please come with me; I've never gone window shopping with you before."
"Mommy, you just come back here. You take a rest first."
The lady shook her head. She wanted to go out. She missed the Philippines.
Clark wants to rest, because there is a party later, but he can't say no to his mother, as she said, she never asked him to join her. After all, maybe it won't stay here for long. Maybe she will return to America right away. Okay, mommy, where do you want to go?"
"Oh, thank you, my son. I'm so lucky today because I have a handsome driver and a bodyguard," she joked.
"Oh yeah, I am proud to be your driver and bodyguard today, my beautiful mother!"
"Oh yeah, I love what you said, son!"
Clark's mother could see the joy on her face.
"I'm not, mommy. You said I'm handsome. Where else can I inherit from you and dad, right?"
"Whatever, son. So, finish your food and let's go."
Clark still wanted to change clothes. He was only wearing kaki pants and a white t-shirt. As he sees, his mother is ready. "Sure, mommy." was his response. MOA.
You can see the joy on Tamara's face. She seems to be a kid.
"Did you see anything you liked, Tamara?" They were in that girl's clothes shop.
"Auntie, the clothes here are expensive."
"Where do you want to be in a second-hand shop? Oh yeah, there it was so cheap. "
"Auntie's second-hand clothes were okay; all of them were good too."
"Go ahead and look if Clark invited you again. You had to wear something. Wait, he says that he's going to take you to the party tonight." "Yes, Auntie."
"That's right, what are you waiting for? Go on, pick out something to wear for later," she shooed her niece away.
"Alright Auntie, I'll find something cheap."
"Oh okay, it's up to you." I'll be there in the shoes area, then you follow."
"Go ahead, Auntie."
Clark is just following his mother wherever she goes.
"Son, at the party you will attend later, which of your women will you be with?" His mother asked him while she was looking for a dress. "There is, mommy, but I only have one woman now."
The mother who faced him raised her eyebrows. because he didn't believe what he said.
"Mommy, your eyebrows, put them down. You're like a terror teacher."
"I heard something new from you, son."
"What's new, mommy?"
"That one. Well, who is that woman? Do I know her?"
As Clark spoke, there was a spark in his eyes. "Nope, mommy, she's a simple lady that I met. She's the one I told you last night."
The mother can see it. And the lady smiled. "I thought you were just joking with me last night, my son."
Clark smiles at his mother. "I'm not, mom."
"Hmmm, we'll talk about her later, okay."
Clark just nods to his mother.
"Son, please choose what I will wear to the party I will attend."
"I thought, Mommy, when you attend parties, you go to a famous designer to make your dress?" Why now that you're going to buy it?"
"You're right son, but my friend, she suddenly invited me when she found out I was here. I can't say no to her."
"Okay, mommy. Just take a look. I'll look around if I see something I like. "
"For who, son?"
Clark smiled at his mother. "For my woman, mommy." He thought Tamara might find something she could wear later to the party they were going to. It's okay for him to wear it simply, but she needs to dress up properly later. "It's so expensive!" Tamara muttered after looking at the price tags.
Clark looked around. When he saw a woman looking at a dress, he frowned. "Hmmm. Is that her?"
Because Clark was curious, he turned around to see the woman's face to make sure. When he saw, he suddenly smiled. This is the woman he loves. Tamara winced when she saw the price tag on the dress again. Clark laughed at the woman's appearance.
"It's really expensive, even though I have the money to buy it. I'll never buy it. I want to get out of here."
Clark approached a sales lady. He said something, and she nodded. And she immediately approached the woman who was about leave.
"Ma'am, do you like that dress?" She pointed to the clothes she looked at earlier.
Tamara just smiled. She didn't want to say yes because she wouldn't buy it.
"Ma'am, you can try it."
"Oh no, I might break it."
The sales lady smiled as she took the clothes she given to Tamara.
Tamara was surprised. "Miss, thank you, but I won't take it."
"Like that dress, right?" Clark snapped suddenly from behind Tamara.
Tamara's chest immediately swelled; she knew that voice. And she automatically faced it.
"Clark?"
"Yes, honey!" he responded softly.
"W-what are you doing here?"

Tamara's chest was pounding more. He with his mother's mind was running something. Maybe Clark would introduce her to his mother. She's not ready yet.
Tamara was about to take a step when Clark stopped her. and grabbed her arm. "Not so fast, honey. Where are you going?"
"I want to look, Auntie Emily."
"Honey, Aunt Emily won't disappear."
"B-but, Clark!"
Clark's mother had been looking at them for a while. When she couldn't stand it anymore, she approached the two. "Son, who's she?" she asked.
Together they looked at the lady. Tamara's chest was heaving because she thought Clark's mother was rude. Well, its stance and appearance are very smart and sophisticated. "Mommy, meet Tamara. Also, meet my beautiful mother, honey."
Tamara felt overwhelmed by Clark's guidance. Any moment now, her tears will flow.
"My gosh, son, she's the one that you told me just now!" There is excitement in her voice.
"Yes, mommy, my honey, Tamara!"
Clark even hugged her. That's when Tamara's hidden tears fell.
"Son, you made her cry!" The lady approached and caressed Tamara's back. Well, I understand why! Even me, I will cry too. I can say now that my son loves you, hija. '
Tamara wanted to cry out loud. Of course she couldn't. She just bit her lip to keep it from crying out loud. And who doesn't cry? She's a very lucky lady. And people around them were smiling, especially the employees of the shop. They had witnessed such a scene.
Tamara just started sobbing because she was embarrassed, especially since Clark's mother was in front of her. She could see that she was a nice person. When she touched her back, she felt that she was kind also.
"Are you okay now, hija?" the lady asked her.
She was embarrassed to answer the lady's nod in her response.
"Mommy, she's shy to you. I feel it."
"It's okay, I understand, son, because we met unexpectedly today."
"So, mommy, did you buy a dress already?"
"Not yet, son."
"How about we eat first, then we buy your dress later, mommy?"
"It's good, son, so that I can talk to Tamara. Is that okay with you, hija?"
That's when Tamara smiled. "Yes, ma'am!" she replied.
"Oh, lovely smile, hija," the lady praised. "And don't call me ma'am, hija." Auntie or mom would be better, right my son?"
Clark smiles at his mother. "Yes, mom, I like that."
Clark signaled the sales lady to wrap the dress and he would return later. The woman nodded and smiled.
Emily saw her niece talking to someone. She wondered who those two people were because she didn't see Clark's face. She walked towards them. She looked at Clark in surprise.
"Good day, Auntie!" Clark greeted.
"Same to you, Clark. Tamara, I've been looking for you! And why are you two together?"
"Auntie Emily, you and Tamara will talk later. By the way, meet my mother, Auntie."
Emily saw Clark's mother, anyone can her they would say she was so elegant.
"Hi, nice to meet you. I'm Cecilia."
"Emily, ma'am!"
"Nice to meet you, Emily." The lady said as she approached and kissed her on the cheek.
Emily was speechless. This is the first time someone has done this to her. And she also knew that the greeting was for rich people.
"Let's go ladies, we need to fill up our stomachs first," Clark said.
Clark lead them to enter in the Chinese restaurant.
This is their first meeting, but Tamara feels she was very welcome by Clark's mother.
