The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 105

Chapter 105

Sandra's hands clenched into fists. "Why haven't I heard that you two are together?" "Maybe your sources aren't very reliable," Yvonne replied with a cheerful smile. Sandra couldn't come up with a response. She could only turn her gaze to Hendrix.

But Hendrix wasn't paying attention. He was staring off into the distance, lost in thought. He finally snapped out of it, turning to look at her.

"Hendrix?" Sandra called his name softly.

"Didn't you say you had something to do? You should head out," Yvonne interjected before Hendrix could respond.

Sandra glared at Yvonne for interrupting her, but Yvonne only smiled sweetly, meeting her gaze without a

care.

"Fine. I'll be going, then," Hendrix said bluntly before turning and walking away.

Sandra instinctively moved to follow him, but Yvonne stepped in her way. "Ms. Swanson, is there something else you need?"

"I want to talk to Hendrix. Why are you getting in the way?

"Oh, that reminds me. I haven't had the chance to congratulate you yet. I heard you and Maxwell are getting engaged. Congratulations!"

Sandra's jaw tightened, and she gritted her teeth. Her glare at Yvonne was so fierce that it could've set the air between them on fire. Yvonne was mocking her.

"Hendrix will never like you," Sandra said suddenly, her voice cold.

"Oh?"

"He doesn't like loud, annoying women," Sandra said, lifting her chin. "And I've known him since we were kids. That bond is something you could never compete with."

"Really? Then, why did he marry your sister?"

"I... He didn't like Noelle, either," Sandra shot back.

"True. Otherwise, why would they have divorced?" Yvonne said smoothly.

Sandra didn't know what to say.

"But as far as I know, Noelle is very quiet. So, maybe your understanding of Hendrix isn't as deep as you think?" Yvonne continued, still smiling.

Sandra's forced smile vanished entirely.

"You're a terrible actress, Ms. Swanson," Yvonne said, her voice soft but sharp. "If you'd just openly

admitted you like Hendrix, I might've considered you a fair competitor. But instead, you hide behind this whole 'childhood friends' act. Don't you find it disgusting?"

Sandra's face went pale.

Without another word, Yvonne turned and walked away.

Sandra stood frozen, watching her retreating figure. Under her breath, she muttered venomously, "Bitch! She's just like Noelle. Both of them are shameless bitches!"

Meanwhile, Noelle was staring at the man in front of her with a hint of exasperation in her eve

"I told you I'd recognize you the next time we met, Ms. Swanson!" Clark said with a bright smile.

Noelle offered him a polite smile. "Mr. Townsend."

"My father and Brandon have already met. It seems they got along quite well," Clark continued. "Brandon must have mentioned it to you?"

Noelle gave a slight nod

I'm curious. What's your relationship with Brandon?" Clark asked.

"We're business partners."

"Oh?" Clark raised an eyebrow but didn't press further. Instead, he said, "Well, since fate has brought us together, why don't I take you out for a meal?"

"I've already eaten," Noelle said simply.

"Maybe lunch, but you haven't had dinner yet," Clark countered with a grin.

Noelle glanced at her watch. "It's not even 3:00 pm."

"Exactly! Perfect timing. We can catch a movie first and then grab dinner. Couldn't be more ideal," Clark said with an easy laugh.
