Chapter Chapter Forty-Seven: All My Children are Lovely
Two weeks after learning of my pregnancy and talking with Alyssa (who was starting to become a prominent member of the palace life), I was with Aivox and Ian on another trip to the doctor- this time, we were learning about the sex and species of my unborn child. “You nervous, babe?” Aivox asked me, using his large hands to rub my shoulders.
“Not as much as I was when I first came in here and learned that I was now carrying you and the others’ child,” I replied, accepting a cup of tea from a passing maid. “And for the record, you guys are going to be paying big time. How the hell did y’all get me knocked up this fast is still beyond me.”
Ian grinned, his honey-brown eyes briefly flashing sea-green. “Hey, we Alphas always have that super serum to ensure that our future children will be as glamorous as the parents,” he teased.
That earned him a resounding slap on the back of his head. “Don’t get cheeky,” I scolded.
“Sorry,” the Alpha merman muttered, looking cowed.
“Looks like your preliminary hormones are in full display already, Your Grace,” Dr. Settel teased as she and Alissa the nurse came in with the latter ready to fire up the sonogram machine. “I assume you all want to know the sex and species of the child.”
I nodded, letting Aivox sit up and join me at my side. “Yes, ma’am,” I replied. “And I want your full confidence that what you will tell us will be kept private until we decide to tell the media.”
“Of course,” Alissa replied as she motioned me to take off my shirt so she could put the cold jelly on my stomach. “We want to make sure that your pregnancy is less stressful and more about preparing to welcome the child into the world. And since you’re already well-known to have a low profile, all of the media giants will want to make sure that you have the privacy that you are rightfully owed.”
“Good to know,” Ian replied curtly. “We already have to deal with the rogue Alpha named Ryker who is still loose. We can’t afford anything else to stress my mate out.”
The women nodded.
A few minutes later, the sonogram screen lit up to reveal my womb. “All right, Malachi,” Dr. Settel said. “IT looks like to me that you...aren’t carrying one child...but four. Four beautiful Omega boys.”
“Omega boys?!” my fiances exclaimed.
“That’s right,” Alissa replied. “And they will not only be the darlings of the palace like Carson and Malachi, but they will also carry the same powers of the Moon Wolves and the Sun God Wolves.”
“What are the species?” I wanted to know.
“Hmm,” said Dr. Settel as she moved the wand on my stomach. “Looks like they’ll be multi-shifters- like you, Malachi,” she replied. “And from the looks of things, they will have a very powerful bond that no one would dare break, the same way that you share the bond with your Alpha brothers.”
“Wow,” breathed Aivox, clutching my hand. “Babe, our children are going to be so loved by each other and us.”
“I know,” I replied, steeling away a tear. “I never felt-”
“Easy, our love,” Ian replied, letting the nurse hand me a tissue. “No need to let yourself get stressed out. You’re going to be a great parent and Aivox and I- alongside our other mates- will be by your side through it all.”
“So sweet,” gushed Dr. Settel. “I assume that you want to hear the heartbeats of your sons?”
We nodded as she flipped a switch and the room was suddenly full of strong heartbeats that sounded like ancient drums from China that still had a powerful boom. “Not even a few weeks in the womb and yet these little ones are already making themselves known to the world,” Dr. Settel commented earnestly.
“We need to let our mates know that the time to plan the wedding and coronation is now,” Aivox replied.
The door swung open to reveal Alyssa, Renatha, and Amerie with the latter two carrying wedding viewbooks and notebooks. “That won’t be necessary,” the phoenix commented. “I’m teaming up with the mothers of the Elite Eight and Malachi’s female and Omega buddies to plan the most-elegant moment that will be as close to Carson’s big day. Now, what did we miss?”
I recapped the trio on me carrying Omega quadruplets, making sure to swear Cunningham into secrecy. “We definitely can’t let Ryker know about this,” I warned them. “Knowing him, he might rip my sons out of my womb- or worse, letting me give birth to them and then sell them into slavery.”
“Right,” Cunningham nodded. “I’ll need to warn your fathers, though. With that idiot still hopped up on his plan to claim you, we need to make sure that he stays far away from you at all costs.”
“Do what you must,” Ian replied, nodding. “Right now, Aivox and I need to spend time with our mate and keep him relaxed. So no bugging him about plans for a baby shower or the wedding unless we say so.”
Renatha nodded. “You leave the planning to us,” the drag queen replied. “Y’all two Alphas get cozy with your mate. Malachi, we’ll do most of the work before letting you know about what we talked about.”
My two mates helped me put on my shirt before thanking the doctor. “Remember your vows of confidentiality,” Aivox said. To me, “Let’s get you into your room. You need to rest for our children’s sake.”
“My Alphas,” I said serenely, letting a bit of my submissive side show as they carried me to my room. I was one lucky bastard, folks.
