The Shadow Howlers

Chapter 11 - Ceremony

All those rescued from Last Moon were taken to their chosen pack or location, and five, including Alani, decided to join the Shadow Howlers. Now that everything was settled, it was time for Gunnar and Bianca’s ceremony.

Neither of them was interested in the minor details; they were just ready to mark each other. Jessica and Marisa had picked out Bianca’s dress. It was dark blue, off the shoulder, and clung to her curves. It shimmered in the light whenever she moved.

Bianca looked at herself in the mirror and had to admit that she’d never felt more beautiful. They had done her hair in a twist, with a few loose curls framing her face. She turned around when she heard someone running. Polly and Trisha came flying into the room. Their white dresses were covered in sparkles with big blue bows tied at the back.

“What are you two doing?” Bianca asked.

“Gram wants to put our hair in braids, but we don’t want her to,” Polly said just as Marisa entered the room.

“There you are, you little rascals. Can you let me fix your hair so we can go to the ceremony?” She asked the two girls, who looked too mischievous for her liking. Bianca decided to step in to defuse the situation before they ran the poor woman ragged.

“If you let Gram do your hair, I’ll give you the special surprise I have for you.” Bianca stifled a giggle when their eyes went as big as saucers.

“What surprise?” Trisha asked excitedly.

“Nope, I can’t tell you until your hair is done,” she answered. The two pups ran over to Marisa and sat down, waiting patiently.

Marisa braided their hair in long French braids, and then they went over to Bianca, looking up at her eagerly. She reached into the top drawer of her dresser and pulled out two sparkly blue butterfly barrettes. They had light wings, so when Polly and Trisha moved, the wings looked like they were fluttering.

“They’re so pretty,” Polly said while they twirled around, watching themselves in the mirror.

“Alright, let’s go downstairs. The ceremony will start in a few minutes.” Marisa kissed Bianca’s cheek before taking the two girls and walking out. She turned back to the mirror and made sure everything was in place.

“Wow, you look stunning,” Bianca smiled at Gunnar’s voice. When she turned around, her mouth fell open. She had only seen him in jeans and shorts, but now he was in a dark blue suit. It fit him snuggly so she could still make out his well-defined muscles.

“You’re not too bad yourself there, handsome,” she said, walking over to put her arms around his neck.

“Are you ready to do this? Once we’re marked, there’s no going back.” Gunnar looked into her eyes for any hint of doubt. All he saw was her love for him as she smiled.

“I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life. You’re mine, and I’m yours; that’s all that matters. I love you.” Bianca answered before kissing him.

“I love you too,” Gunnar said, pulling her in for one last kiss before walking toward the door.

Everything was set up in the large banquet hall that was used for special occasions. There was a platform with seats for the alpha, luna, beta, and beta’s mate. The entire pack was in the room and waiting anxiously for Gunnar and Bianca. Polly and Trisha stood next to the alpha and luna chairs as the couple had requested. The girls were their daughters for all intents and purposes, and they wanted them to be part of the ceremony.

When Gunnar and Bianca entered the hall, everyone stood up and clapped. They walked to the platform and faced the crowd.

“Thank you all for coming for this special occasion. As you know, I have found my mate. For those who haven’t met her, this is Bianca, and it’s time for us to mark each other and officially make her luna.” Gunnar’s speech was short and to the point. He didn’t care if they didn’t like it. Everyone cheered as the couple smiled.

Gunnar turned Bianca to face him and momentarily got lost in her hazel eyes. He felt his canines protrude when she tilted her head to the side to bare her neck. Leaning forward, he kissed the area he would mark, making her shiver.

Bianca’s eyes closed when he bit into her. The feelings that came over her were more intense than any orgasm she’d experienced. When he pulled back, she opened her eyes, and her vision was slightly hazy. He licked the few drops of blood on her neck, making Bianca’s legs buckle. Gunnar held her tight and chuckled before whispering in her ear.

“I don’t want to share that look with anyone ever again after today. You have that same look on your face after we’ve had sex.” She started giggling when he kissed her forehead. He then leaned forward so she could mark him. Bianca didn’t hesitate to bite into his neck.

Gunnar did all he could to keep from moaning out loud when he felt her canines inside of him. Sparks were flying around them, uniting their souls as one. When Bianca pulled back, there was something he couldn’t wait to do. He kissed her deeply, not caring who was watching while he mindlinked her.

“Now I can be in your head, and you can be in mine. Can we shake these yahoos because I want to throw you over my shoulder and take you upstairs?” Bianca looked up into his eyes. The cheers of everyone in the room faded away as though it was only the two of them.

“You can do whatever you want, alpha, but you may disappoint a few people if we run out now.” Gunnar groaned lightly but smiled as they turned to face the room.

“I present to you Bianca, Luna of The Shadow Howlers,” he said loudly, causing everyone to burst out into howls and cheers.

Gunnar and Bianca sat in the alpha and luna seats with Trisha and Polly on their laps. Every type of food they could have imagined was served to them, but neither was hungry. All they wanted was to get to their bedroom.

After the meal, they mingled with the pack for a while. Most were happy to meet the new luna and were extremely friendly. Others questioned her parentage, or, in the case of the unmated she-wolves, they scowled at her from across the room. After everything she’d been through in the past week, Bianca didn’t let it get to her. Whether they liked her or not, she didn’t care as long as she had Gunnar by her side.

Several hours later, they were finally able to get to their room. Gunnar couldn’t keep his hands off Bianca, and as beautiful as she looked in her dress, he couldn’t wait to have her out of it.

“Are you happy?” He asked as he unzipped her dress and kissed her bare shoulder.

“I’ve never been happier. The day you came to Last Moon was the best day of my life, even though I thought it was going to be the worst. You saved Trisha and me. I promise to spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love and appreciate you.” Bianca turned around as her dress fell in a puddle at her feet. She stood before him in nothing but her blue thong. She took off his suit jacket and began unbuttoning his white shirt.

“All I want to do is shower you with so much love that you never have to think about that place again. You and Trisha have changed my life and Polly’s as well. I love you, my luna, and I will never let you forget it.”

Gunnar lifted her up as his pants fell to the floor. He carried her to the bed and removed the last of their clothing so they could finally make love as marked mates. Neither could have imagined the amount of love they would have for each other, and it got stronger every day. Family was the most important thing to both of them, and they couldn’t wait to make theirs bigger.
