Chapter 98
BLAKE
I woke up with a start and looked around the room.
Where the hell am I?
Ah, right, I stayed in the guest room on my parent’s floor.
I stare at the ceiling. An image of Izzy comes into mind.
Damn, fuck.
I get up and swing my legs over the edge of the bed. I can’t help but place my elbows on my knees and my face in my hands.
“I really should have gone back to the room,” I said to myself.
“You’re an idiot!” Says Axel in my head.
I stare back at him, his eyes stare back. “Have to admit, human, you look rough,” he says.
I groan. “Well, I couldn’t sleep. I was thinking about Izzy all night,” I say, “Besides, between you and my father, it sounded like you were trying to outdo each other on who snores the loudest.”
“I don’t snore,” he says in a huff, turning to look away from me.
“You do, Axel. It sounds like a buzz saw going off in my head,” I say with a smirk. “I had to block you at some point.”
Axel turns to me but says nothing to me.
I move my face from my hands and get up. I glance at the clock on the side; its five am.
Fucking great.
I get up and move to the window to stare out.
I must also go to the training even though I am an hour early.
I leave and change into some sports gear. My mother has loads of sports clothes around the house as we all shift, especially if rogues come. There are clothes stashed everywhere. You just have to look for them.
I change quickly and open the door, but as soon as I open the door, the door to my parents opens, and my mother walks out.
She stares at me but smiles. “Hey, did you sleep...” she says, but she gets cut off by the buzz saw behind her. She scrunches up her nose. “Sorry,” she mouths.
I smile and walk down the stairs, right into the kitchen.
Dale was there. He looked up at him with a smile, “Hey dude, I have been waiting for you,” He said.
I looked at him confused, but then I realized I messaged him to be up early for training, but I don’t think I mentioned a time.
“I guessed you didn’t sleep,” he says with a smirk. “Come on, so you can find your mate for some making up.”
I grunt, “I don’t know about that,” I say, but the thought of making up with Izzy has my cock thinking about it and instantly going slightly hard.
Dale pushes a bacon roll towards me and some orange juice. “Izzy wanted to see you last night, but I guess she couldn’t find you,” he says as he takes the seat opposite me.
I quickly eat and ignore him. I love the guy, but talking this early has to be so wrong.
Once I was done, we both leave and headed to the training grounds. But I was happy to see Alice and Paul. Alice taught us the moves, which were simple even. If we were in our human forms, we aim to stick our hands into their chests to ripe out their hearts. Alice commented on the amount of blood that comes when you do it; you look like you have bathed in their blood.
Well, that explains Izzy’s look yesterday coming back to the pack house. She had killed them that way. Another way we found out to kill them was by ripping out their throats and making sure the head was entirely away.
Axel seemed to like that part.
After an hour, we all headed back inside. I went straight up to get showered, as I was a sweaty mess.
I looked around the pack house near the kitchen to see if Izzy was there, but she must have been still sleeping.
I walk into the spare room I slept in last night. There was a change of clothes for me.
My mother must have had clothes brought to me.
I walk into the shower and let the water wash the aches away, but an image of Izzy comes back into focus. I can’t help and play with my cock. I stroke it till I come hard over my hand and the floor. I moan out Izzy’s name when I find my release.
I needed to talk to her, and I needed to see her.
I walk out of the shower, wrapping a towel around me. I quickly get dressed.
Once I was done, I couldn’t help but look out the window and spot someone.
Izzy, but she wasn’t on her own. She was holding onto Allie and that other kid’s hand. She must be taking them to the nursery.
I watch as Izzy walks in with them, but I notice Kat and Todd walking up to her.
I turn around and leave, but I am stopped in my tracks as I open my door. Anya was standing right outside. She looked like she was about to knock on the door.
“Anya,” I say, sounding surprised.
“Blake,” she says, she frowns, “I’m about to make you late, aren’t I?”
“I was...” I say, but I stop. I wanted to talk to Anya last night, but I never got around to speaking to her. I might as well speak with her now.
I sigh. “I was going to go outside,” I say, “But how about we go for a walk?”
Anya smiles. “That would be lovely. I would like to see the pack grounds,” she says.
I nodded and smiled. We both head down the stairs and straight through the front door. Anya moves to the side as I step out of the door.
We walk beside each other. But I stop in my tracks as I see Izzy walking with Alice.
They are heading to the training grounds.
“You both are so stubborn,” blurts Anya.
I turn to look down at her. “What?” I ask her. “I’m not stubborn. I wanted to talk to her, but I haven’t spoken to her.”
Anya looks up at me with a smirk. “Well, she is heading that way, why don’t we...” she says, but I shake my head.
“No, she is training,” I say.
I walk towards the nursery.
I wanted to see Allie.
Anya follows me. “Ask me the question, Blake,” she says.
I sigh as we approach the fence. I lean on it. “What happened to you, Anya?” I ask her; I don’t look at her.
My gaze is on Allie. She is playing with the boy. He looks so happy, but there is some sadness in those eyes.
I look at Anya as she hasn’t said a word. Her eyes are on all the children from the pack, but she spots Allie and the boy.
“I was tortured,” she said. “Elder Johnson kept me in a house. He locked me away.”
Anya tells me everything that Elder Johnson did to her. I was left reeling with anger for her. How can a man who believes so much in the werewolf community kill a baby? I want his head. Every one of those bastards needs to die, and I would happily help Izzy do it all. But it explains everything about Drake. If he was poisoned with a potion, he wasn’t in his right mind, and thinking his mate was dead must have tipped it over the edge.
Anya wipes her tears with her hand, and she looks at the boy, “That kid came here too; he had it worse than me,” she says.
I look at her, feeling slightly confused.
Anya looked at me. “They held him in the house’s basement. They starved him to death,” she says. “He doesn’t drink blood only when he needs to heal. He is more werewolf than vampire, but he has fangs.”
I stared at the boy, who was digging in the sand with my daughter. “You should mate and mark Izzy,” Anya says out of the blue.
“I am not doing that, unless...” I say, but she stops me by placing her hand on my arm.
I look down. Anya’s eyes search mine for something, but I can’t tell what. “Izzy came to see me last night; we talked about what I know about her,” she says.
“Blake, the power she has is connected with emotions; when both of you mark each other, your emotions will help her take hers to the next level,” she says.
I look at her, confused, but something clicks. Axel is even staring back with a weird look on his face. He has been listening in on what she went through.
“So if we mark each other, she could use my emotions,” I say to her.
“I don’t know how her power works, but I guess so,” she says. She looks at the children once more.
“Amir and that witch will want him back, and also, if you are not looking, they will try to take Allie away from you too,” she says. I can’t help but growl, but she stares up at me.
“They think over time they can change a child’s views to their own. Can you imagine if they had Allie and she had Izzy’s power? They could kill everyone, every supernatural. The hybrid would be used as a killing machine if they worked on him more,” she says.
Both facts are shocking, but the logic behind them was disturbing. A child’s mind is like a sponge, but they will learn to trust someone.
“I won’t let that happen,” I say and look towards the children. “I won’t let them take my daughter or the boy.”
“You are one true alpha,” Anya says.
I say nothing to her. I just look towards the children.
After another hour of talking, Anya and I headed back to the pack house. But a mind link comes through. “Blake, you are needed at the cells NOW,” says my father in an angry voice.
Anya walks into the pack house while I walk to the cells, where I notice my father and Tilly standing outside; they look like they are in a heated conversation.
“We need him out of there now,” says Tilly. “Izzy won’t talk to him.” Tilly has her back to me.
“No, Izzy would kill him for trying to take Allie,” I say to her. She turns around to face me. “Blake, we need to talk to...” she says, but I have had enough of council members and Elders trying to be alpha of this pack.
“We will talk to him,” I say as I stand in front of her, “But you won’t be around when my father and I talk to him.”
My father smirks.
“You can’t stop me; I need to be there. He’s an Elder,” she says.
I shake my head. “This is my pack. I am soon to be alpha, and I will talk to him. You can come, but you do not talk; if you do, I will place you in a cell next to him for disrespecting an alpha.”
Tilly looks at me with wide eyes, but she sighs, “You are right,” she says with a smirk, “He is ready to be an alpha.”
I look between the both of them, they both laugh. Still, Tilly turns to me. “I had to find out if you were ready to be alpha,” she says. “Your father told me you are becoming alpha after this war, and I have to admit, I am looking forward to it, especially when the council members have to talk to Izzy.”
I smirk at the thought of Izzy having a go at the council members. Hell, her power is terrifying now, but when she is provoked, I bet she would be like the devil.
Fuck, I best make sure I never act like that to her.
“I will tell her what you said,” says Axel in a mocking tone.
I groan. “Look, can we deal with the Elder now? We can discuss this after, but also,” I say with a smirk. “You may get to kill him, too.”
Axel moves to a sitting position and nods at me.
I look back at Tilly and my father, who have been watching me.
“Axel, okay?” asked my father, who seemed to smirk.
“Yeah, he’s fine,” I say.
I change the subject quickly. “Let’s sort this Elder out,” I say to them, and we walk into the cell.
