The Secrets of the Panther

Chapter 80

BLAKE

I look at the door Izzy went through. Lena is also staring back at the door.

Lena turns to look at me. “Blake, I think Izzy knows more than she is letting on,” she says quietly. “But I think she’s trying to process everything or planning something.”

I move my head to look at her; I frown. “I think it is more like she is processing everything; it is not every day that a witch goddess takes over a shifter’s body, saying that I don’t think it’s ever been done before,” I say.

I sigh.

“Have you ever heard of anyone ever doing that?” I ask her.

Lena stays quiet, but I can’t help but look at her; her face is saying more. She looks at me. “I never heard of it, but it’s not heard of, but I want to know why my goddess took over a shifter’s body to let her see something,” she says.

I must admit, if the moon goddess came to any wolf, it was usually through dreams, but she would never possess someone; I don’t think she would.

“Blake, Hecate is a powerful goddess with the means, whether she did it or someone helped her, but I think it may be to do with the dark magic Helga used,” Lena says.

I look at her for a moment but turn to look at the door. “Why would she want to be on her own?” I asked quietly to myself, but Lena heard me.

“Izzy needs her rest, and you just told her someone came for the one thing that can either destroy Izzy’s heart or make it whole her daughter, Allie,” she says and walks away.

I look at the door once more; Lena stops after taking a few steps away from me. But she stops and looks at me. “Come, Blake, we need to get back to the office,” she says.

I nod; I move and follow Lena back to the office.

Once we both stepped inside the office, everyone was still there.

They all look up at us. “How are they?” Asks Kat.

“They both are sleeping,” says Lena, looking at me with a small smile.

I nod.

I look at my father, who has a strange look on his face. “Dad, we need to train soon,” I say, but he cuts me off. “What the hell was that, Blake? Did she say anything to you about what happened?” He says.

I can’t help but snarl slightly, “Izzy said nothing,” I say.

“That’s great; how the hell would she know that the war will come in six days...” he says, but I cut him off with a loud growl.

Everyone else in the room stares at both of us.

My father looks startled at me but recovers quickly, but my mother places her hand on his arm to calm him down. “Derek, please, let Blake explain,” she says softly.

My father opens his mouth but closes it, saying nothing to me.

I look at my parents. I want what they got with Izzy, but at the moment, I need to make sure we get half of this crap sorted even if we train; that will give us more of a chance against the vampires and whatever else comes our way.

“As I was about to say, Izzy hasn’t told me anything, but I think after she rests, she will tell me, or she might even tell us all together but father,” I say to him, “Stop questioning my mate like she is a criminal or something, she doesn’t need this.”

I look over at Kat, who smiles as our eyes connect; she nods.

I look back and move closer to my parents. “As for now, tomorrow morning's first light, all members of our pack who can fight will be up, fed, and ready for training with Todd and Kat,” I said. “They will teach us all how to fight the vampires.”

“I will be there too, and so will Izzy; as for Allie, we will limit who has her; the nursery is not an option now as the elder will try anything to get her. All the council members who can fight will train, but those who cannot stay in the pack house with mum and Anita. When Tilly comes here with the others, we will train them too. Allie will train too; she needs to learn some techniques to survive too,” I said; I looked at Alice and Kacey. “Both of you and Charley will train her. She must know panther skills and wolves’ basic training to help.”

“What about Izzy?” Asks Kat suddenly.

I look over to her. “Izzy will rest, but she will train; she can train with Allie or with us, but once she has processed everything, she will talk to us or me and Lena, but it is when she is ready.”

Kat nods but smiles back at me; she turns to Graham, “I think you should train too with us; you can help protect Izzy and Allie as your wolf is strong.”

Graham nods.

I look at Paul, Lena, and Dale, “Lena, you will train with us too. Just some basics,” I say. She nods.

I look at my two best friends. “Paul and Dale, you will train with me; we need to make sure everyone is where they need to be,” I told them. They both nod at me.

I turn to my uncle and father, who have an amazed look on their faces, but I keep my face natural. “Both alphas, are you going to train with us all, or will you keep everything updated with the council?”

“I will train,” says Alpha Dawson. “I never liked politics.”

I smirk but look at my father, who has not let his stare go from me. “Dad, what about you?” I ask him.

Everyone in the office is quiet, waiting for his reply.

My father looks at me when a smirk comes across his face slowly. “Blake, I am so proud of you for taking control of this situation; I will do both. We will place your mother and auntie Anita in the bunker; they can sort out all the pack members who can not fight.”

I nod.

“Let me know when the council members arrive, or have Tilly told you anything?” I ask my father.

My father looks at me but sighs, “Tilly rang me; there were over 40 vampires there that attacked them. She and a few members are arriving here, but some have located safer locations as they want nothing to do with the upcoming war,” he says.

I nod to him.

“I guess we all know what we are doing,” I said, looking at everyone. “We all best get to bed.” Everyone here looks exhausted.

Everyone says their goodnights and leaves the office.

I don’t hang around; I leave and return to the room. I told Izzy I would be in while she and Allie rested for the night.

I walk in, and I know everyone will have questions about everything. Everyone keeps what Allie did quietly for now, but it shows she has the same power as Izzy. I need to protect them both.

Axel has been quiet during the whole meeting, and what happened to mate?

As I walk into the room, it is cold and dark. I don’t even sort myself out; I head straight to the bed and sit.

“Axel,” I say to him.

Axel moves closer. His eyes look at me, but he looks back with no expression. “What do you think will happen?” I ask him, “You’ve been quiet about all this.”

Axel looks at me, but he sighs. “I think I know why mate was being funny, but I can’t say anything just yet; we will soon find out,” he says, but a smirk creeps onto his face.

I’m not too fond of it when he does that; it freaks me out.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. I walked over to the bedroom door and opened it, but there was no one outside. I checked the landing but went back in.

I close the door and shrug. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

But there is another knock. I look over my shoulder, but Axel laughs. “Wrong door, stupid,” he says.

I look to the side, the door which leads to my room. I walk over to it and open it.

There, standing in front of me, was Izzy.
