The Secrets of the Panther

Chapter 21

IZZY

The scent comes in strong.

Dales goes stiff next to me and looks up at the person who has walked in.

“Mum, what are you doing here?” he says, looking toward Kacey. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Blake and Luna Lauren are silent but don’t move. Everyone around me is tense.

Her scent, I remember her scent but where.

I realized I haven’t looked up, but when I do Kat is standing up.

“You shouldn’t be here, I told Graham that neither he nor you were to come here unless it was alright with Izzy,” she said, through gritted teeth.

I gritted my teeth.

His mate.

The one he chose over my mother.

I don’t want anything to do with her.

“I wanted to come by and ask my children if they were coming home, when I noticed them in here I thought I would introduce myself to my mate’s child,” she said, politely but with smugness on the words of my mate.

I growl loudly.

“I don’t have any intention of meeting you,” I growled, getting up from my chair.

Puna is standing on all fours in my head, ready to come forward to take charge.

I know she is reining in our power, but she is having trouble controlling it due to my emotions raging.

His mate just smiles at me.

“Well, I’m here now so I thought…” she said but I growl louder. “You need to get out of here now or I’m going to rip your throat out.”

She looks at me, shocked but recovers quickly. “Please, I want to make right by my mate.”

She is seriously not helping this whole situation.

I step away from the table and walk over to her, she doesn’t move. The smile never leaves her face.

“You look like her, you know that,” she said. “You look like your mother.”

There were a few growls erupting around us as I glared back at the woman.

“How do you know what her mother looked like?” Kat growled.

Graham's mate looked over at her and sighed.

“Luna has photos of her so it is hard to miss,” she said, sarcastically.

I am about to lose my shit if she mentions my mother again.

I can hear chairs being scrapped along the floor and footsteps moving, my anger is getting the better of me.

I need to either kill her or leave.

“Linda, you need to leave,” Luna Lauren gritted out, who is standing by Kat. Alice is on the other side. I can feel their panthers are ready to attack, they can sense Puna.

“I will leave once my children are ready,” she said, looking toward them. “Come on, we need to leave. Your father wants us home.”

I growled.

“Actually mother, we will meet you there. We want to spend time with Izzy,” Kacey said, who has come by my side.

Everyone is riled up, even Blake and Dale.

Linda glares at her daughter in annoyance.

“Why does everyone want to get to know her? She has nothing to do with us. She is her mother’s child, born out of a mateless relationship,” she said with a snarl. “I am so glad that Graham chose me over her, she would have made a terrible beta female especially being a pathetic panther.”

I growl loudly.

“GET OUT OF THIS CAFE NOW BEFORE I KILL YOU OR I WILL LET MY PANTHER PUNA COME OUT TO PLAY” I growled loud.

Puna is coming forward again, my hand begins to show her claws coming through.

I am on the verge of shifting.

Puna is growling so loud in my head.

“OPEN THE DOOR,” Kat screamed but before anyone can do anything, I move and shift into Puna. I glide through the glass door, her eyes are bright green, staring at Linda as she turns around to look at her. Graham's mate is white and shaking in fear.

We want to kill her.

We are pissed.

But Blake, Dale, and Alice are standing in front of the door, blocking my way to kill her.

“Izzy, you need to calm down,” Alice shouted.

I can barely hear Alice, telling me as both Puna and I are too angry.

The anger is taking over. We want to rip her throat out.

Puna takes a step closer to go back into the café but Blake lets a deep growl out but we don’t care. We take a step inside, but Blake moves in front, he is protecting that woman.

“Izzy, please, you don’t want to do this,” he said. “You are better than this.”

Linda laughs from behind him.“

What does she want to kill me? She can’t, she is not allowed,” she said, smirking.

I am losing control.

Blake can see my eyes through mine Puna’s, he looks at me pleading.

“Please, Izzy.”

“Move,” Kat shouted from behind. “Izzy, you need to get out of here.”

I have had enough of people telling me what to do.

I growl as I lunge toward the bitch.

Blake pushes Linda out of the way, as I crash into him. He growls at me, but Puna growls back louder.

I just attacked my mate.

Blake looks stunned; Linda is now behind Dale and Kacey.

I look around and everyone is shocked. I can sense fear in them all.

Puna growls loudly but Blake moves toward her but she takes a step back and turns to leave through the broken glass.

I get to the middle of the road and look behind me.

Blake is standing where the door used to be.

“Izzy please, calm down, you are scaring everyone,” he said.

I can feel eyes on me. We look around and notice a few people looking on at the commotion, I growl.

“Puna, we need to run,” I scream at her through our mind link. “Run, NOW.”

Puna doesn't wait. She turns around and bolts across the road, straight into the forest. She runs as fast as she can if her life depends on it.

I am so pissed.

I don’t know if anyone is following us but we keep running.
