Chapter 5
Its been a couple days since the confession from Ancient Matthew. He's gone home and left us with a final apology. I don't know why he keeps apologising, it wasn't his fault. We can't even blame Moona for her curse, she didn't mean to put the curse on us, she was only protecting those mates from their Alpha mates.
We don't know how someone could be so cruel to their mates, to anyone for that matter. Matthew explained further that the reason for the mark only being on our body now was because we made contact with our Father.
After our encounter with her we went back to the house. We talked to everyone for a bit before making our way to our room. We haven't been out of it since. Mother and Father comes in here at times, usually bringing me food or making us go shower.
"Gage? Are you okay?" I ask him trying to get some conversation out of him. He may be in control of our body but he still is the wolf. Not having a mate effects him more than it does me. "I don't want to talk." He says whimpering while trying to shut me out. I sigh in our head but decide its best not to pester.
We hear the door opening slowly. We look over and see its Father with Mother. They both have soft smiles on their faces. We try to smile, trying for them, but it probably just comes out as a grimace. Could they really blame us?
"Son we were thinking maybe you'd like to come with us to a pack we need to have a meeting with? It could be good for you. Please Theo we can't just sit here and watch you like this. Please its only for a couple days." Father says as he and Mother sit down next to us. We look up and see sadness written all over their faces.
"Lets just do it Theo." Gage sighs out shocking me since he hasn't spoken since we started to hibernate in our room. "Are you sure Gage?" I ask him wanting to know he's completely fine with it. It's much easier to talk to him now since he's not happy with the idea of killing of our family. "Yes Theo I'm sure."
"Okay I'll go." He says giving them a small smile. Both their faces lighten up immediately. "Oh thank you Theo! You won't regret it we promise." Mother says squealing excitedly.
Mother jumps up and immediately runs out the room. We chuckle slightly. "Mother still has her child spirit doesn't she?" We say as we watch the door she exited from. "Yes but its one of the reasons I love about her."
"You treat Mother so well. Could you tell me what it was like when you first realised she was your mate?" We asked him curiously. The look on his face makes us confused. Its a face of...regret?
"Now that's a long story with me and your Mother. I rejected your Mother in the beginning. I thought my title was the most important thing to me. I believed that I was this amazing Alpha who got whatever he wanted but when I realised who my mate was I rejected her, thinking she would never be a great Luna."
"I regret rejecting her everday of my life. Though she's forgiven me I will never forgive myself. Do you want to know what Uncle Liam did to me when I tried to get her back?" He asks, looking at us. He seems to be on the verge of tears, remembering the past. We nod wanting to know.
"My Father eventually gave me a phone number to try and contact your Mother. Before this place was open to everyone it was in a secret location. Your Mother changed that once she elected The Ancients. I called that number and Uncle Liam answered. I asked him if I could speak with your Mother but instead he began to yell at me. I deserved all of it, the yelling, the threatening. But what really broke me was when he told me your Mother was dead."
"She wasn't really but I stupidly believed him. And you know what Theo? I'm glad he said that to me. It made me change. Your Mother made me become a better Alpha and also a better person. I still wish I had never rejected her but it still turned out well for us. If she had not forgiven me I still would have done everything in my power to get her to forgive me. No matter how long it took. I was willing to do anything for her. I'm still so happy she didn't accept the rejection or else she would have been able to have a second chance mate. It's an unlikely occurrence but it still happens sometimes."
"I am sorry that you don't have a mate son. That doesn't mean you will never have love though. It just means you'll have to work even harder to find someone to spend the rest of your life with."
We stared up at Father, shocked. We couldn't believe that our Father had actually rejected Mother. Its just so unfathomable. The way they loved each other? We would have never guessed.
"Okay now you need to be packed to stay there for about a week. Our meetings involves looking over the pack and seeing how its doing. It was your Mothers idea. She wanted to be more close to all of the packs of the world. Luckily this one is just about a day away from us. So get packing we leave in two hours." He says standing up. He walks to the door but turns to face us and smiles.
"I'm so glad you're with us my boy." Then he leaves.
We sigh and rub our head already feeling a headache coming on. So Father rejected Mother but Mother still forgave Father? Couldn't he have simply said that? Would have been much simpler.
We stood up and began to pack away clothes for our trip. We didn't start with a lot of clothes but we were literally dragged to the mall so they could buy us clothing and other necessities.
After the packing is done our stomach decides to makes its presence known. We walk down to the kitchen and immediately dig in the fridge. Just as we close the door a body is hurdle towards us. We drop the cupcake we got and backflip, jumping onto the counter. We immediately get into attack position and bare our teeth at the direction the body came from.
"Could you quit doing that you big loaf!" The body yells while groaning. We look down and see its Uncle Jordan. We watch him stand up and look at the new person who entered the kitchen. Uncle Scott.
"What? Its hilarious to see you fly like a rag doll." He says chuckling. "Sorry about that Theo. How did you dodge Jordan by the way?" He asks as he picks the cupcake off the floor and puts it in a weird looking trash can.
"Oh shit Scott you should have seen it! He literally did a blackflip onto the counter!" Uncle Jordan yells excitedly like a little kid. We jump off the counter but still say nothing, examining them. "Did you do gymnastics when you were younger?" Uncle Scott asks us.
"Yeah I did 6 years of it." We lie to them. They believe and just look at us. Next thing we know Jordan is flying again. "Scott stop doing this!" We hear Uncle Jordan yell. Uncle Scott says goodbye and goes to his brother.
We shake our head at the two and check the time. We've still got about 20 minutes left. We grab another cupcake and quickly eat it. We go upstairs to grab our bags and head downstairs again. Someone takes our bags for us while telling us that our parents are waiting in the car.
We immediately climb into the car and we start our trip. "Isn't Callie coming with?" We ask them since she's not in the car. "No she still has school." At the mention of school my mood dampens. People say they'll never miss school ever again but I do. I miss the classes, the people. I miss everything about it. Gage isn't a fan of school at all.
"Do you think I could attend school here?" We ask them, Gage knows how much I liked it so he allows me to go. "Oh yes we need to put you in your last year of high school. You can start when we get back from our trip." Mother says looking back at us. She turns around and we can't help but smile. I'm finally going back to school, a normal teenage life.
Well as normal as a werewolf teenagers life can get.
