Chapter 31
Izzy' POV
"B-But, how? I killed you! How are you still alive?" Skylar yells as she steps closer to Uncle Kyle, looking ghostly pale. I look over 'Bane' as he smirks at all of us. The woman, who claims to be his mate, steps forward, causing us to growl fiercely.
"I'm that reason. See I'm a very powerful witch, and I have many friends. I had learnt a spell that would bring him back. You honestly thought he would go up against you so easily? So the plan was simple, cast the spell on him so he'd never be able to die. Although he was in a coma for a year. You turned him into some kind of goo, but his body just began to grow back. Kind of creepy don't you think." She chuckles darkly, eyeing Skylar with a deadly glare.
"Such a shame we lost our trophy over there. Though all is not lost, we have an army. So be prepared because I'm coming for you Skylar, and your mutt of a son too." Bane says with fake sadness, pointing in Theo's direction. Skylar looks between them before she begins to shake.
"You leave my son alone!" She yells before using her powers, throwing them across the field. Although it wasn't fast enough before they both winked then disappeared in a cloud of smoke. When Skylar sees this she screams out in anger before walking over to a tree and punching it, causing it to fall. Uncle Kyle approachs her slowly, then wraps his arms around her, calming her down.
"Let's go home." He says to everyone before walking in the house's direction. We all follow them silently, weary of Skylar at the moment. No one wants to deal with an angry Moon Goddess.
When we finally reach the house Skylar orders everyone for a meeting. It takes a few minutes before everyone is here. As everyone quiets down Skylar stands up, grabbing everyone's attention.
"I have just found out that Bane is still alive. He's back and he's out for revenge. It seems that they have built up an army, with whom, we do not know, but know this. After this war, we will finally be rid of Bane and his mate. Dismissed." Everyone quickly clears out, not wanting to bother her. I look over at Sky and see her rubbing her head over and over again. She seems exhausted. Then suddenly tears begin to fall.
"I thought we were free. I can't do it again, Kyle, I just can't." Uncle Kyle wraps his arms around his mate before whispering words of encouragement into her ear. He glances at the rest of us, silently asking us to leave. We nod our heads then make our way out, silently.
"Can we talk now?" I ask my parents as we sit down in the living room. My parents sit on the love seat while me and Theo sit on the two recliners. I smile as I see my brother wriggling out of Dads grip before he stumbles over to me. He lifts his arms as he smiles up at me.
"Uppy!" He says excitedly, making me mentally awe at his cuteness. I pick him up and set him down on my lap, letting him play with my fingers. I look over at my parents, noticing they're smiles as they look at my brother and I.
"His names Charlie." Mom says suddenly, making me smile. Charlie. I like that name, it suits him.
"Okay where to be begin...Well the day we dissapeared we went on our normal walks. You know we could never not have our daily walk. We had just entered that clearing before we smelt Theo. He attacked us, badly might I add, but something happened. Someone had shouted for him to kill us but he didn't move. He stared down at us the whole time before his eyes suddenly got wide and he yelled at us too run. It was almost impossible with how injured we were, but we still managed to escape. We can never repay you for saving us Theo. Thank you." After Dad's short but descriptive speech, I sit there shocked.
He saved them?
Theo tried to save them!
I smile and quickly put Charlie down before jumping onto Theo and hugging him tightly. He seems shocked at first but happily wraps his arms around me.
"Thank you." I whisper into his ears, sniffling slightly. I hadn't noticed that I was crying before until Theo pulled back and ran his thumb under my eye.
"So when did you too realise you were mates?" Dad asks with a protective voice. Even after all this time he still won't let me near a boy.
"Just recently actually." I say not wanting to let them know the whole truth. I didn't want to ruin the memories they had at our old pack with mine.
"I always thought that you and Beau would be mates though-" Mom's cut off by a fierce growl by Theo, instantly cutting her off. Both of my parents looks over at Theo in shock, while Charlie is busy sucking on his thumb, watching all of us. Gawd, can he be any cuter?
"Care to explain that?"
"W-Well, uh, t-the thing is..."
"Izzy, you can tell us anything Sweety." Daddy says approaching us slowly before crouching down in front of me with an encouraging smile on his face. I smile down at him nervously before turning to Theo.
"Do you think it's a good idea?" I ask him through he mind-link. He looks back at my parents before looking me in my eye.
"This is your decision Izzy. I can not tell you whether to tell them or not. I know why you don't want too, and I completely understand if you choose to stay quiet." He says, smiling up at me. I let out a sigh before pecking his cheeck, making his smile grow from ear to ear.
"Alright, I'll tell you..." And so I began the long, torturous process of explaining my orphaned life to my parents. During the entire story they didn't mutter a single word, they just kept blank faces. I was honestly scared of what they're reactions would be but at the moment I can't even tell.
"So, just because we dissapeared, they decided it was alright to hurt our daughter in every possible way!" Dad says, becoming louder towards the end. He begins to pace, clenching his firsts tightly as he takes in deep breaths. I can see Mom is also having a hard time controlling her emotions but she keeps them at bay. A tiny part of me is actually happy that they're reacting this way, showing me that they honestly do still care.
"Warrick should be stripped of his Alpha title! I can't believe I thought of that bastard as my best friend! Screw this, I'm going after him!" Dad yells making me jump up quickly, running over to him and blocking his way.
"No!"
"No? After what they did to you, you'd let them get off so easily?" He says glaring down at me with anger and confusion.
"I moved past it Dad. Just think if it hadn't been for all of that I would have never met Theo. I would have never been truly happy. Beau and I both finally realised that we would have never worked. I forgave them and forgot about them, please just do the same." I say to him, hoping he'll understand. He looks up again, his jaw ticking, before he huffs and sits back down next to mother.
I smile and go to sit down on the empty seat but yelp when I feel Theo's arms wrap around me and pull me down onto his lap. I look up at him with a big smile, as he does the same.
"We'll give you two some space." I hear someone say but I pay them no mind and I look up at Theo. I reach up and run my fingers over his cheek softly, starring into his eyes.
"I love you Theo."
"I love you too Izzy."
