The Return

Theo/Gage's POV

We awoke with a pounding in our head, expecting to still be inside the disgusting cell, but much to our surprise we were in a field. We slowly sit up, wincing from the pain. As we look around us, we notice a huge lake in the center of the clearing with flowers surrounding it. The view was spectacular but what really drew our attention was the girl sitting near the edge of the water. We slowly stood up, feeling light-headed. It goes just as it came, allowing us to walk over to the girl. We take cautious steps, not letting our guard down. As we approach her, we notice that she is stunningly beautiful, although she still does not match the beauty of Izzy.

"Hello Theo." The girl suddenly says, turning towards our direction with a gentle smile. We tilt our head to the side in confusion. She knows who we are?

"Of course I know who you are." She says, giggling as if we we're crazy. She pats a spot next to her then turns back to the water. We decide to sit and slip our feet into the cooling water. We sigh and lean back, enjoying the sun light. No one says anything for a while.

"So, who are you?" We finally ask but still don't look at her.

"I am Moona. The current Moon Goddess." At the mere mention of her name, we immediately stand up and bow our heads respectfully.

"I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't know-"

"Oh stop hyperventilating. Now sit down, I don't have much time to talk with you." We follow her command and sit down, though this time not putting our feet in the water.

"I've watched you Theo. I've seen what you've been through and truthfullly, I know how you feel. I know how it felt to suffer through all that pain. Those stupid people did this to you, just for revenge. I know how to help you though." She says while picking flowers around us. We stare at her in disbelief.

She can help us?

"You can?" We stupidly ask, she turns to us and gives us a small smile. She nods then turns to the flowers again. We expect her to speak but she doesn't, instead she stands up and begins to walk away. We stand up and run over to her.

"Wait! How can you help me?" We ask trying to get her to stop but she continues to walk, then suddenly stops at the edge of the clearing. We go to speak but she shush's us and points at something inside the forrest. We turn to look and see Alpha Chand making his way towards us. He doesn't look the same as he was in the cell.

He smiles brightly as he approaches us and we go to growl at him, not wanting him to get close to Moona. He chuckles at us, still coming forward.

"Theo, it's okay." We hear Moona say from behind us. She steps around us and runs into the waiting arms of Chand. We look at them in confusion.

"What is happening?"

"Well Theo. This is Chand, my mate-"

"But in the story you made him a Rejected-"

"What did I say about interrupting Theo?" He scorns us, with a playful smirk on his face. Hypocrite, he just did exactly that. Moona rolls her eyes and tell us to follow her. As we walk she grabs his hand, leading him around. We find it odd but we pay no mind. We reach the lake again and take our seats, this time with Moona in between Chand's legs. She cuddles close to his chest and he places a loving kiss on the top of her head.

We let out a soft whimper, knowing that we can no longer have that with Izzy. We feel our heart ache in pain as we watch how the love that they have for each other, shine. She then turns to us and gives us a sad smile.

"So, as I was saying, Chand is my mate. Well technically second chance mate. You see after I cursed the Alphas to become Rejecteds, I left. I created my world and lived there. Wolves that died would always pass by and I would see them. One day I spotted Chand's soul floating around, and me being me, I couldn't resist. I took his soul and brought him to my home. The first time he saw me he begged for forgiveness but I was having none of it." Chand then continued the story.

"When she brought me home that day and I saw her, I broke down and begged her. I regretted everything I did to her, the reason I died was because I took my own life. I never forgave myself, because I had lost the greatest person in the world and I had only myself to blame. She didn't want me back but I am a persistent guy. For centuries I tried to regain her forgiveness, then her trust and finally her heart. It took a long time but I would do anything to have her as my love. I fought for her, was there for her, I did everything in my power to make her happy. And finally she entrusted me with her heart again." All the while he spoke, he looked down at her with unshed tears in his eyes. She leaned up and gave him a sweet kiss before turning back to us.

"But you say you're mate's again. How is that possible? I'm pretty sure that you accepted the rejection?"

"Yes, I did accept the rejection but during those times I had been working on a spell for Rejected's, who were innocent, to have mates. It took a long time but I finally figured it out. I put the spell over us and we became one again." She says with a loving smile on her face.

"I can do this for you Theo. Then you'll be able to get that medallion off. You'll finally be able to be with your soulmate." We begin to smile, happy that we'd finally be free. For a short moment we felt free already.

"But there is a catch to this spell." She says suddenly. We look over to her and wait for her to explain.

"You'll have to give up something. And your mate will have to love you back already before they can be your mate."

"What do you mean by give something up?" We asked, we already knew what she meant with the second part but the first one confused us.

"You'll have to give up a necessity. Chand, gave up his eye sight." We look up at him and look him over sceptically. He doesn't seem to be blind?

"I haven't have my eye sight for a long time boy, so I know how to get around without help."

"In order for me to do this spell Theo, you'll have to give up one thing. What will it be?"

We sat there and thought very carefully of what we were gonna give up.

"I give up..."

We suddenly sat up, gasping for breath. Once we calmed ourselves down we looked around us. We saw that the cells front gate was open, which was odd. We quickly stood up then made our way out the cell. Needing to escape now.

Time for us to find our mate and save our family.
