Chapter 353
Chapter 353 Forgiving Linda
“Tell me, how much do you need?”
“As much as you’re willing to give!”
Amelie was delighted.
She was on good terms with her brother, and she had originally wanted to tell him something about Prosperity Global
Entertainment. Only she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
She was afraid that Rex would be angry if he found out. After all, he still had contact with Lamont. So, after much deliberation,
she decided not to say anything.
After packing her things into the car, Amelie waved goodbye.
“Be careful and call me if you need anything.”
Rex said, looking at his sister with concern.
“Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing. I’m old enough to take care of myself.”
Amelie confidently.
Rex nodded but didn’t say anything else.
He knew that his sister was smart, but it made him uneasy to think about the dangers she was going to face.
Amelie returned to the studio immediately.
As she entered her office, she saw Linda, whom she hadn’t seen in several days.
Linda’s expression changed subtly as Amelie sat down at her desk and began working in silence.
Linda watched her for a long time before finally speaking.
“Elena, I’m sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing to me?”
Amelie looked up at her in surprise.
Then she returned her attention to the document in front of her.
“I was the one who leaked the project plan. I’m sorry. I betrayed your trust. I came here to apologize and accept whatever
punishment you see fit.”
Linda confessed.
Amelie stopped what she was doing and sighed.
“Linda, I’ve known it was you, but I didn’t say anything. I had a plan all along, and your actions actually helped me carry it out.
So, don’t blame yourself.”
She said with kindness.
“But... no matter what, I betrayed you. I don’t expect your forgiveness. It was an honor to work with you these past few days. I
know you’re a good person so I had to come clean and tell you the truth. I’m sorry. I’ll leave now.”
With that, Linda turned and left the office.
Amelie watched her go, feeling conflicted.
She thought of the days they had spent together, working day and night. Finally, she stood up and walked towards Linda.
She grabbed Linda’s arm.
“Did I say you could leave?”
Linda looked at her in confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“Isn’t it obvious? Don’t even think about leaving. We’re partners. Let the past go. The studio needs you.”
Amelie smiled, trying to ease the tension between them.
“You forgive me? You don’t care?”
Linda was shocked.
“Of course, I care. But I also understand your difficulties. I know everything about your mother. I’ve arranged for someone to take
care of her and found the best doctor. I hope she can be cured. After all that I’ve done, shouldn’t you follow me wholeheartedly?”
Amelie said tentatively.
“I’ll follow you wholeheartedly. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me another chance.”
Tears streamed down Linda’s face.
She never thought that the woman in front of her would forgive her.
“Okay, don’t cry, I don’t know how to comfort you when you’re crying. Now that you’re back, help me manage the studio and take
on a few more projects. Otherwise, how will the studio survive? I know you have children to take care of, but you can’t forget
about work.”
“No problem. By the way, what are your plans? Is there anything I can do to help?”
“No, I can handle it myself. You just need to help me manage the studio well so I don’t have to worry about it.”
Amelie said firmly.
Linda nodded hastily.
“Rest assured.”
Amelie smiled with satisfaction.
Although she despised those who betrayed her, she believed that Linda must have had no other choice.
The studio stabilized and was unaffected by the scandal surrounding Leila.
Online, the Aylward Group was heavily criticized.
Amelie called it a day and got off work.
She planned to go back to her apartment when she spotted a Lincoln parked outside the building.
She found the car familiar to the eye.
Soon, a familiar figure emerged from the vehicle. It was none other than Willard.
Amelie approached him politely.
“It’s been a while, Mr. Aylward. What brings you here? Did you come to see me?”
Willard’s face was grim as he closed the car door and looked at Amelie seriously.
“I didn’t expect you to work against me behind my back. Ms. Cisneros, do you have no respect for me at all?”
“I’m not sure what you mean, Mr. Aylward. I’m simply seeking justice. Your daughter framed me and nearly killed me. Is it wrong
for me to fight back? Or should I just suffer in silence?”
“Of course not!”
Willard exclaimed.
“I know that’s not what you meant. Even so, you shouldn’t be asking me these questions. You should go to the police station as
soon as possible. From what I understand, the trial is tomorrow. If her lawyer isn’t strong enough, your daughter could end up in
jail.”
Amelie said with a smile and tried to walk past him.
“Wait! Who are you? You’re not Elena.”
– Willard asked sharply.
Amelie just smiled and glanced at him before turning around and getting into a taxi.
Watching her leave, Willard was filled with anger, but there was nothing he could do.
His most important task now was to rescue his daughter.
So, he turned around and got into his car.
He had originally come to Amelie to negotiate with her, but their brief exchange made it clear to Willard that no matter what he
said, it would be useless.
When Amelie arrived at her apartment building, she didn’t get out of the taxi immediately. Instead, she handed an address to the
driver.
“Please take me to this place.”
She said cautiously.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, just follow this address.”
The driver asked doubtfully but started the car nevertheless.
Amelie glanced behind her. The tail that had been following her was gone.
She knew that Willard would have someone following her, but she hadn’t expected them to appear so quickly.
She breathed a sigh of relief and then sent a message to her elder brother.
Now that Leila had been brought to justice, Amelie wanted to see her parents and find out how they were doing.
Aaron was overjoyed when he received the news.
He had been searching for Amelie’s whereabouts, unable to sleep or eat properly.
