The Return of the Disguised Princess

Chapter 122

Chapter 122 Mark Is Back
On the way back, Amelie insisted on sitting in the same car with Mark, which only made Amelie’s other five brothers even more
envious.
When they went back home, Eden and Celia’s reaction upon seeing Mark was almost identical to Amelie’s.
Speaking of Mark, he was originally Rex’s twin brother, but it appeared that they did not want twins at all. Besides being born on
the same day in the same month of the same year, they were only eight minutes apart in terms of birth.
Their physical appearances, personalities, and even temperaments were all distinct.
Of course, fate played a role in their differences.
Mark was sent to study abroad from a young age and became a top student with renown even across the seas. Upon
graduating, he started his own business in Australia and completely broke away from the Mullen family’s control.
Moreover, the extent of his power should not be underestimated.
Unlike Amelie’s other brothers, Mark had achieved both professional and romantic success. He had a whirlwind romance and
quickly married the woman he had fallen in love with after just three months.
It was rumored that Mark’s wife, who had never made an appearance before, was also from a powerful family in all of Australia.
Upon seeing their third son, Eden and Celia began talking about meeting their only daughter–in–law. That was probably the
reason why Mark didn’t want to return home
before.
After all, in the Mullen family, men outnumbered women for all these years. Eden had wished that his sons would all get married,
but apart from Mark, the other sons were all
disappointments.
“We all suspect that you are actually still unmarried. Otherwise, why did you never bring your wife back to see us? Could it be
that she holds a prominent status and cannot easily make an appearance?”

“Indeed. No matter what, at least she should come to see our parents.”
Amelie cringed as her other brothers appeared to be resentful and mean to Mark, having lost their family’s status to Mark.
“You have no right to bring up Mark. You don’t even have a girlfriend. Don’t just hover around Amelie all day long.”
Celia, who stood beside Amelie, finally uttered something impartial. Amelie felt smug and laughed.
However, to be frank, Amelie was also very curious about her sister–in–law who never
showed up.
Nevertheless, Amelie could not disclose her curiosity. After all, the identity of Mark’s wife was indeed exceptional, and Amelie
feared that if she was brought back by Mark, the power behind her would have a significant impact on Oakland.
After dinner, Eden dragged Mark into the study before he could even rest. Their conversation lasted until midnight. It also often
happened to Amelie’s other brothers, and they would sometimes be summoned to the study by their father and could not
leave for the entire night.
Yet, Amelie’s other brothers remained inquisitive about what their father would talk
about with Mark.
“Maybe something occurred, so Mark suddenly returned this time!”
“What could have happened? It’s still peaceful and uneventful outside.”
Amelie’s second brother, Rex, and her fourth brother, Sergio, debated in the same room, unable to determine the reason behind
Mark’s unexpected return.
Of course, meanwhile, Amelie was also planning something in her eldest brother
Aaron’s room. The atmosphere was tense.
This time, only two of her brothers knew her plan. Eden merely offered support in the
form of resources. As for what Amelie exactly wanted to do, no one knew.

In short, no matter whether Amelie’s plan succeeded or failed this time, the Mullen family possessed the power to shoulder any
repercussions on behalf of Amelie. Therefore, Eden unconditionally backed his cherished daughter in her quest for
exploration of this world.
Early the following morning, Amelie rushed to the company with the news that Jeff had already arrived at Starry Sea
Entertainment with Cynthia, requesting a withdrawal of his investment and cancellation of the contract. Besides, Jeff claimed that
according to protocol, Starry Sea Entertainment would be required to pay 16 million dollars in liquidated damages to the Capet
family.
16 million dollars was already equivalent to the net profit of small Starry Sea Entertainment over an entire year. Such steep
liquidated damages were practically unheard of in the outside world.
Amelie didn’t have time to inform the staff at Starry Sea Entertainment, particularly Belen, who was very anxious upon learning of
the Capet family’s contract cancellation.
“Oh my, you finally come now! The Capet family has been waiting for quite some time!”
Belen, who was completely unaware of the situation, grew increasingly anxious when she saw Amelie’s unflustered look.
The Capet family had come well–prepared this time around, suggesting that they were picking up a fight. Belen knew very well
that the Capet family was difficult to deal with and repeatedly cautioned Amelie to remain vigilant.
“It’s okay. Don’t worry. Even if the Capet family doesn’t cancel the contract today, Starry Sea Entertainment will offer to do so.”
Amelie lifted her dress and strode confidently into the office. Belen was taken aback by her words. Amelie, who came from the
Mullen family, still appeared to be unflappable even in the face of formidable foes like the Capet family.
Amelie was the most courageous female elite that Belen had ever seen.
As expected, there were two uninvited guests in Amelie’s office. Cynthia was adorned in an exceptionally stunning manner,
nestled in Jeff’s embrace.
What a two–faced bitch!
Following the evaluation, Amelie was pretty sure that Cynthia was the top expert in
bitches.

Her eyes gleamed with pride as she looked at Amelie, displaying a haughty and malicious attitude. But when she turned to Jeff,
her gaze softened into one as gentle as water, pure and vulnerable.
She appeared to be an entirely different person, but her extreme obstinacy and possessiveness had stripped away any disguise
she had previously worn.
Amelie was decisive and adroit, slamming all the profitability accounts and contracts the Starry Sea Entertainment had with the
Capet family onto the table before them.
“Hurry up and get to the point. I don’t have much time.”
Jeff looked up and glanced at the beautiful Amelie that he had always admired. She was vibrant and profitable. If he didn’t feel
forced to marry Cynthia, he would have loved to
have some sort of affair with her.
“Indeed, the issue of contract termination and compensation must be resolved quickly
to avoid delaying the Capet family’s next contract.”
Cynthia caressed the jade ring in her hand. The size of the gem on the ring was as big as a pigeon egg. It was a family heirloom
solely passed down to the head wife of the Capet
family.
Cynthia’s every move was a reminder to Amelie that she should not dream of things that should remain unattainable. Not
everyone in the Capet family could become the
head wife.
Naturally, Amelie wouldn’t miss this opportunity to retort.
“Mr. Capet, I recall that the Capet family has always adhered to strict traditions. How can a fiancée who hasn’t undergone the
proper formalities wear a family heirloom as she pleases? What if...”
The following words ought to be self–evident to everyone in Amelie’s office.

Cynthia blushed, revealing her true nature entirely.
“Amelie, what do you mean? I am Jeff’s future wife designated by the patriarch of the Capet family. Are you suggesting that Jeff
might have a second fiancée?”
Amelie chuckled but remained silent. It was uncertain. It was true that the Capet family
wanted Cynthia to be Jeff’s future wife. However, it still required further investigation if
Cynthia, who was standing before them, would be qualified.
If that were the case, the family heirloom of the Capet family would become
second–hand.
Hmm, what a pity.
