The Return of the Disguised Princess

Chapter 111

Chapter 111 Amelie Is Jealous.
Seeing that Rex had returned victorious, Amelie smiled brightly and ran to Rex’s arms like a spoiled child.
“Let me see if my baby sister gets hurt.”
As soon as Rex came over, he was like he had regained some treasure after losing it. He checked Amelie to see if she got hurt.
However, in such a dangerous situation, which was even more dangerous than when she was kidnapped, Amelie was not injured
at all, except that she looked a bit messy.
This was thanks to Lamont’s protection.
Although Lamont was not as annoying as he usually was, he had indeed risked his life to protect Amelie.
Her opinion of Lamont had subtly changed. That kind of protection was not fake.
Speaking of this, Lamont, who had just complained while running for his life, seemed to have not spoken since Rex and Sergio
came.
The situation was too urgent. Just now, Amelie’s attention was focused on Rex fighting. with a group of black–clothed people.
Lamont should not be so quiet.
Could it be that he did not want others to see his dusty and battered side and quietly
left?
Amelie inadvertently glanced to the side. If not for Sergio’s tall figure blocking half of Amelie’s line of sight, Amelie would have
already noticed the abnormality.
Somehow, Amelie suddenly got strength and pushed Sergio to the side. She subconsciously threw herself at Lamont, who had
already fainted on the ground.
“Lamont, wake up!”
Lamont’s lips were blue, and his face was shockingly pale. His white shirt was stained
with a lot of blood, and most of it was his own blood.

Amelie almost forgot that this stubborn man was seriously injured. In short, he bled a
lot, so much that people would be afraid when they saw it.
“Rex, Sergio, hurry and save him!”
Amelie furrowed her brows. It was the first time that Rex and Sergio had seen Amelie act so seriously. They were both stunned
on the spot.
Sergio was angry and aggrieved. When he came, he saw Lamont, who was just a jinx. He wouldn’t feel pitiful when such a jerk
died, and Lamont was not worthy of being with
Amelie.
Therefore, he deliberately blocked Amelie’s line of sight, so that when Lamont fainted because of his serious injuries, Amelie did
not have any reaction.
“Amelie, why did you care so much about him? Have you forgotten who is to blame for what you suffered in the Byron family?”
“That’s right! Why should we save him? He deserves it. We should take you home now. Our parents and Aaron are worried
about you.”
When Amelie said that she wanted to save Lamont, Rex and Sergio disagreed. A heartless man like him was not worthy of
Amelie’s sympathy at all.
“This is different. Back then, I was indeed stupid to take a fancy to him. I also remember how he treated me in the Byron family.
However, he saved me today. I don’t want to
owe him.”
Rex and Sergio looked at each other. In the end, it was because Amelie was too
soft–hearted!
In Oakland Hospital.
When Lamont woke up, he had already changed into a clean hospital gown and was

lying on the bed. When he got up, he could still feel the pain of a splitting headache.
“You’re awake? The doctor said that your head was severely injured and good rest.”

A familiar and slightly cold voice came from beside him. Lamont heard the voice and looked over. Amelie was dressed in a light–
yellow sleeveless dress and a dark blue coat. Her eyes were shrewd and full of spirit.
Lamont’s heart skipped a beat. She was not the village woman who didn’t know about fashion.
Whether it was her disposition or her elegant manner of speaking, it made Lamont feel that the current Amelie was a completely
different person from the previous Amelie.
He felt a dull pain in his heart. If it was the previous Amelie who saw that he was injured, she would immediately run over to him
and care for him. And she would definitely be so distressed that she would shed tears.
But the person in front of him was indifferent. The indifference and estrangement made his heart tightly knit together. In short, it
was an indescribable feeling.
“Am...”
“Mr. Byron, how are you? As soon as I heard that you were injured, I rushed over
immediately.”
Before Lamont could speak, another voice barged in without permission, interrupting
their thoughts.
It was Miriam, who was carrying a large basket of fruits and flowers. She rushed in without knocking on the door, causing Lamont
to feel displeased.
“Mr. Byron, how do you feel?”

Miriam was really worried about Lamont’s situation. She forgot her boundaries for a moment and moved closer to Lamont. The
atmosphere was subtle and strange.
Lamont coughed and said, “I’m fine. Step back.”
Lamont frowned in disgust. The inexplicable fragrance from Miriam made him feel
dizzy, and he was a little afraid that Amelie would misunderstand.
Miriam awkwardly took two steps back.
In Amelie’s eyes, the interaction between the two was like a couple flirting with each other. And suddenly, Amelie was
overwhelmed with anger.
Wasn’t Lamont a neat freak?
Didn’t he hate women’s perfume the most?
During the five years she spent in the Byron family, she didn’t even dare to use the shower gel with fragrance.
“When did Mr. Byron change your type?”
Amelie had indeed misunderstood. Moreover, the moment she opened her mouth, she was harsh, full of mockery and ridicule.
“She is just my assistant.”
Lamont wanted to blurt out these words, but he choked them back. Why should he explain these things to Amelie?
She was not worthy at all.
“When did Mr. Byron like this kind of woman with a rustic flair?”
Amelie still felt that she was not harsh enough. Looking at the fruits and the cheap. flowers Miriam bought outside the hospital,
she felt inexplicably good.
“Didn’t you hate these things the most? But now you’re happy to receive them. I didn’t
know that you are so fickle.”

“Amelie, what nonsense are you talking about!”
Lamont was so angry that he almost spat out a mouthful of blood. He originally thought that after the incident with Macey, the
relationship between them would ease a little.
“You should know better than anyone what I mean!”
Amelie didn’t give Lamont any room to speak and retorted back, completely ignoring
his darkened face.
In the ward, Miriam’s face turned red. Looking at the gloomy Lamont on the bed, she felt that she might have caused trouble.
Lamont suddenly sneered. That kind of incomprehensible and creepy smile scared Miriam so much that she quivered in fear.
What was he dreaming about? Was he dreaming that this scheming woman was sincere to him in those years in the Byron
family?
“Miriam, I want to eat an apple.”
“What?”
