The Return of the Assassins

After we had yet another break and some coffee, Violet went with Chin to start her training and I went to the library to learn about the Supernatural world that we are a part of now. As I stepped into the library, it amazed me. The size of the place and there were bookshelves full of books, from floor to roof, on all three walls. It was quite dark, as there were no windows. There was a large study table in the center of the room with books scatter all over. I guess this is where he did his research on killings and stuff.

As I got in front of the table, I saw a book about Werewolves, so I took it and went and sit on the enormous chair. Which was surprisingly very comfortable.

It stated that Werewolves are shapeshifter creatures with the unusual speed, strength, reflexes and senses. As most humans will believe that the full moon causes the shifting, it is not true, as they are shape shifter they can shift at any time that they want. The first shift for a wolf is the hardest. It hurts the most, as all the bones had to break and realign in their body.

After that, it gets easier and faster as the body gets used to the realignment of bones. They also have fated mates. Fated mates are like the other half of their soul. Most of them believe it is a gift from the moon goddess and will wait their whole lives for their mates. The mate bond that gets formed between these two is stronger than anything you could imagine. It is so strong that if they are marked and mated that they can feel each other’s feelings and that they can speak through mind linking with one another.

They love each other unconditionally and if one of the two passes away, it usually result into the other partner to go feral as it is too hard to bear the loss of their mates. If a wolf is part of a pack, they can also communicate within the pack through mind linking with each other.

There are different rankings in the Werewolf’s community. First you get the Royals. They are from an ancient bloodline of Hybrids as they are both Wolf and Lycan. After the assassins, they are the strongest inhuman creature. They are known to be descendants of the very first Lycan ever created. They are very short-tempered and don’t think twice about killing anyone that disobey them. It is known that they are the Rulers of all inhumane creatures.

Then you get all the Alphas. They are the leaders of their packs. They rule with a firm hand over their packs and everyone that belongs to that pack must obey their Alpha or they will be banished out of the pack to become a Rogue or they get killed. The Alphas are also known for their short tempers, as they are very powerful. Their wife’s or mates are known as the Luna of the pack and is also respected in the same way as the Alpha. The Luna is the softer side of the Alpha; they care for the pack as if they were their children and are equal to the Alpha.

Third, you get the Betas. They are second to the Alpha. If the Alpha has to leave the pack for a while, the Betas take over and lead the pack. They are very highly respected among the wolves as well and their wife’s or mates are known as the Beta female and are second to the Luna.

Fourth in ranking are the Gammas, as they are third in charge of the packs. They usually train their packs Warriors as well. There wife’s or mates are known as the Gamma female and are third to the Luna.

Fifth in ranking are the Warriors. They are the protectors of the pack. They are trained in fighting both in human form and wolf form. The training is known to be very brutal, therefore not everyone can be warriors, only the selected of strong bloodlines. The pack usually has worriers round the clock to patrol the pack’s boundaries. To alert the higher ranks if any rouges or other inhumane creatures have been spotted.

Last on the rankings is the rest of the wolf community. They are the ones that work in the shops and houses, doing everyday jobs.

The Wolf community is a very tight community as long as everyone follows the rules.

As I read this, I could not help but to wonder how it would feel living in such a community. They will probably kick me out with in an hour of arrival as I do not take orders from anyone. The Alpha will probably pay me to leave his land. Thinking about this, I started laughing at myself.

“Now I am interested to know what you are reading, if it’s that funny.” As I looked up, I found Peter leaning against the door frame as if he was the king of the land. “O nothing, just doing research about Werewolf’s and thinking that the Alpha would probably pay me to get away from the pack land.” Peter also started laughing at my answer. “For what I saw today I would also think so.” Upon hearing that I just rolled my eyes at him and asked, “So I know pretty much about the works of the Werewolf’s, why don’t you enlighten me about the Vampires?”

“First thing, it is vulgar to roll your eyes at someone.” “Is that so?” I asked and rolled my eyes again. He lightly chuckle and pointed out, “You are a very stubborn person. Be careful with that. It may get you into trouble.” “Yea, so you say, now what do I need to know about Vampires?” “What do you know about Vampire?” “I know what I see in movies, but as you know, every movie is different. So I am sure that I know little.”

“Your honesty is very refreshing as most humans think they know everything.” “Then it is a good thing that I am not a hundred present human.” “True, you are not. So Vampires, we are known to live in Clans, we are also very social creatures and like the company of other. I know lots of movies and books say that Vampires don’t have reflection or cannot go on holy ground or can’t go near garlic and that is entirely wrong. We may be the dead by heart, but most of us believe that we still have souls.

As the Werewolves have mates, we have our beloveds, and it works the same way as the Werewolf mates. We have reflections and we can eat garlic if we want to. It doesn’t help to impale us with wooden sticks, it will do nothing to us. It will hurt like hell, but other than that, it doesn’t help. The only way to kill us is by cutting off our heads or if you use silver, as that impacts all inhumane, except you, of course.

The sun doesn’t kill us, but the younger we are, the weaker the sun makes us. We are strong and fast like any Inhumane, but every Vampire has a special gift, like, for example, I can see into people’s past to know if they are telling the truth or not. Just as Werewolf’s we also have rankings inside the Clans.” He takes a small breath and goes on..

“First is our Clan leader, the Alpha. Everyone obeys his command and live under his rules. Second is the Deputy. He is the second to the Clan leader and assists the leader in what needs to be done. He also gives the rankings to the other Vampires. Third is the Healer. He is the Vampire who uses medicine from herbs to help the ill and wounded. Fourth is the Messengers or Patrol unit. They usually get sent out to gather information and patrol the clan’s territory, making sure there are no trespassers.

Then in Fifth place are the Hunters of the clan. The hunters go out and grab food for the clan. They also hunt down any Inhumane that is a thread to the clan.” As I was hearing this, I could not help but to ask him, “By grabbing food you mean humans, right?” “No, not humans. As orders of the Counsel limit us to humans, we get blood from certain blood banks and, of course, animals.” I just shook my head while thinking I really would like to meet this counsel they all listen to. As I was being quiet, he took that as a queue to go on with his lesson.

“Six, we have the Warriors. Warriors are the frontline fighters for the clan. Those chosen to be warriors are typically the most skilled in combat and aren’t afraid to put their lives on the line for the sake of the clan. Seventh in line are the Assassins Vampires. These Vampires take orders from any member of the clan if they want someone to be killed or injured. These Vampires are very stealthy, sneaky and agile.

Then there are the Guardians. They take care of the children and the elders. These Vampires make sure they are safe and doing what they’re supposed to be doing. After them there are the Troublers. The Troubler is the one who usually did something wrong. They get placed in that position for betraying the clan. They won’t be in this rank for long it is just a method of punishment. Then last on the list are the Rogues. They are Vampires that roam freely without a clan or they were kicked out of a clan.”

“Wow, that is a lot of information. I will need a moment to proses all of that, but before I leave, please tell me who is this counsel.” “They are the key leaders chosen by the inhumane to represent them at the King’s table. King Alexander started with this when he formed the Elites. The Counsel consist of one Vampire, one Dragon, one Siren, one Witch, one Wolf, one Human and then, of course, the King. They decide what rules need to be in place for everyone to live in peace and if any of those rules were to be broken, you will appear in front of the Counsel and they will decide your fate.”

“Well, that doesn’t sound so bad. Who represents the Humans and what are the Elites?” “The Humans are represented by Queen Ella and the Elites are a group of the best alphas that did not want the Alpha position. So they became the chief Warriors of the Crown. They also are one of each creature except Human of course.”

“I didn’t know that the Supernatural world was so controlled. It is actually well planned.” “It wasn’t always like this. There was a lot of chaos and a lot of wars, but Alexander did well when he stepped up and took his rightful place as King of the Supernatural world. He put all the rules in place and started the Counsel and all that.”

“I’m guessing that he is still the King.” “That is correct, he still sits at the throne.” As I was listening, I just shook my head as I took in all the information. It was a lot, but I needed to know all this if I was going to be part of this world now and if we wanted to survive in this world. “Well, thank you for your help, Peter. It was very eye opening, but I think I will do some more research tomorrow.” “It is my pleasure, Scar. Anything to help.”

As that was said, I stood up and left.
