The Return of the Assassins

Alexander took a seat, ready to get down to business. “Yes let’s talk,” he stated. “Why did you came here Alexander and what can we do for you?” “After Liam told me what happened and what they had found out, I had an emergency meeting with the council members and of course they had questions about you and Violet. So I came down as I wanted to meet you and Violet and to get some clarity on everything.” “So what does the council want to know?”

“First off all they want me to invite you and Violet to come to Texas with me so they can meet you and discuss”..... That is when I cut him off and said a plain, “No.” I could see confusion flashing in his eyes, but he covered it quickly and asked, “What do you mean no?” “I mean no, if they want to meet us they can come here. Violet and I will not go anywhere.” He let out a chuckle and said, “Well love that wasn’t really a question, you don’t really have a choice in the matter.” When he said love, I felt a shiver ran down my spine as it sounded so good coming from him, but I kept his gaze and did not show any emotions on my face. “O no sweetheart,” I said it with as much sarcasm as I could. “You’ve got it all wrong. We don’t have to do anything that we don’t want to.” He let out a sigh that told me that he really isn’t used to being argued with and I must add that he looked a little rusty in that department. “Scarlet you don’t have a choice you need to appear in front of the council as you have....” Again I cut him off but this time I held my hand up as he did with me not too long ago. “Alexander if you going to say that we have broken one of your rules, o so help me I will lose it.” Before he could say anything I started to speak again and at that I could see the irritation in his eyes, but did not pay any attention to it as I really did not care. “I am only going to say this once so pay attention. We...Do...Not...Fall...Under...Your...Rules. Whenever a human life gets taken without their consent and of their free will, we will intervene and do whatever we have to too disable the treat to the humans. So do not come to me with your rules. Do I make myself clear.” At that I heard everyone gasped as I don’t think anyone has ever dared to speak to him like that. Evan as it does pain me for speaking to him like that I will not bow down to them and their rules. The humans are and will always be our first priority.

As I kept his gaze not backing down I saw anger in his eyes and then I felt his aura and that started to anger me. Is he really trying to make me submit to him like everyone else? He has a rude awakening coming to him. As I pushed my aura out as well giving him a taste of the power I hold within me. “Alexander I can assure you that whatever you are trying now is definitely not going to work, but I will give you another reason why we will not be accompanying you to Texas. At this moment the only people that know of our existence are the people in this room and the council. If we go with you it is going to raise suspicion about us and everyone will want to know who we are and what we are doing there and that alone will put our lives in more danger. I am sure that there are a lot of supernatural beings that does not want to see us alive as we will probably interfere in their activities.”

“Um Scarlett there is something you need to know about.” I looked over at Peter with my eyes narrowed and asked, “What do I need to know of?” Peter looked down and started to shuffle from one foot to the other not making eye contact. “Peter what have you done?” I asked him with my voice low and threatening. He snapped his head up to me eyes narrowed at me as if challenging me and I did not back down as I was holding his stare. “I did nothing Scar, it was you.” At that said I looked at him with surprise. “What did I do?” “When Violet was in trouble you let out an energy blast by pushing your aura out to push the vampire’s away from you, but it was so strong that everyone back at the pack felt it.” I looked over at the Elite’s and they all nodded, giving me the confirmation that I needed to know what he is saying is true. “But even if they felt it they will not know that it came from me, so that will not be a problem.” “Scar the Blue Moon pack is the second oldest pack in the world. Almost half of their pack members were alive when the assassins were still among us, so they knew the power came from an assassin. We did try and put out the flames, but they are determined to know, as they are one off the packs that was against Alexander’s grandmother. It is just a matter of time, but they will find you. Scar they are tired of the humans getting hurt they will reveal you to the inhumane world, to let them know that the humans are protected once again.”

“Well isn’t that just peachy.” I responded while rubbing my temples; I can feel a migraine coming. “O is the little queen scared of a few battles.” I snapped my head to Liam narrowing my eyes, feeling my anger rise and pushing my aura out. I dared him with my eyes and said, “Say that One...More....Time.” He kept my gaze and as he was starting to say, “Little....” I was over the table and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt throwing him through the door against the wall. “I did warn you.” Everyone just stayed in their seats watching the seen unfold in front of them. Of course Violet had a smile on her face as she was also getting irritated with him, always challenging me. “Really Scar, was that really necessary breaking my house.” I looked at Chin apologetically and said, “Sorry, I sort of just lost it.” He let out a sigh as I looked back at Liam challenging him this time, to take me on. As Liam launched at me Alexander stood up and stepped in between us holding him back. “If you guys want to fight do it in a more appropriate place.” Then he looked to Chin with a questionable look. “Yes you can do that in the training room it was built for that,” Chin answered. At that Drago stood up and said, “Finally we will get to see the assassin in action.” As I passed him to go to the training room I could not help but to give him a smile that said he is going to enjoy this.

As I entered the training room, I went straight to the changing room to put my training clothes on as I do not want to ruin my clothes. When I came out everyone was ready and waiting for me, Drago stepped in the center and said, “So here are the rules, no weapons allowed and Liam can shift if he wants to and the first one to pin his opponent down for five seconds win.” “But that is unfair, mom cannot use weapons but he can shift.” Before Drago could answer I told her, “O princess I don’t want to kill him, I just want to teach him some manners.” “A girl is going to teach me, I don’t think so I have a few hundred years on you little queen.” He said while laughing. “O don’t worry, your few hundred years aren’t going to help you against me...boy.” Then he launched at me and I took a defensive stand, wheeling my aura out to heighten my senses and to give me the strength I needed. As he ducked down to tackle me, thinking that it would be that easy, I also ducked down meeting him head on. When we collided you could feel the power radiant from us, I pushed him back making him stumble a little and then hit him on the jaw with my right fist. He immediately counters with his right trying to hit me in my stomach but I grabbed his hand turned around and throw him over my shoulder. “Is that all you got boy or are you just out of practice.” He stood up so fast and was behind me in an instant, kicking me behind my back making me fall to the ground. Wow okay he was fast; I pushed my aura out a little more so that I could be faster. I immediately stood up and turned around, he was already in front of me sending a right fist to my jaw. I then send my fist flying against his short rib just as fast as he is. He then send another fist aiming at my stomach, almost like an uppercut. I grab his hand before he could hit me and throw him against the wall once again. As he stood up I was already in front of him hitting him in his gut and on his ribs. He grabbed my hand with the next hit that I threw and kicked my legs out from under me. As I landed on the floor he was on top of me sending hits to the side of my ribs. I pulled my legs up and kicked him to the other side of the room. As I launched at him I hear bones crack and in an instant a beautiful black wolf stood in front of me and he was huge, he was the same height as me and baring his teeth at me. I took yet again a defensive stand and was ready for him, there is only so much you can do in your wolf form and as I suspected as soon as he came near me he jumped, so I duct down under him hitting him right in the stomach and I knew I had to be faster if I wanted to beat him as he will heal faster in his wolf form. So I turned around as he came at me yet again and I jumped over him grabbing him on his fur and throw him yet again against the wall making the wall crack at the impact. I may not heal as fast but I am stronger. “Mom stop playing around and end this already.” As Violet said this I turned to her giving her a smile tell her I am enjoying this, which was a huge mistake, because I lost my focus and I felt pain shooting through my body. As I looked to my side I saw his big jaw over my shoulder and then I realized that he was biting me. So I grabbed his jaw and pulled it away from my shoulder. As his grip loosen I send him flying over my shoulder still holding on to his jaw and before he landed on the floor I send a kick right in his back. Hearing a satisfying cracking noise. As he laid there on the ground I heard another cracking noise and right in front of me stood a magnificent white Liken. He was much taller than what I was and he was strong almost matching my strength and I knew without my weapons I am going to lose if I do not end this now. So I turned around as he was running towards me and ran towards the wall, where I used the wall to run up and to push myself to land right on top of his neck. Clamping my legs close around his neck I throwing my body to the side pulling him down with me and as we landed on the ground I calmed my legs even more holding him down. As Drago started the count I felt his sharp nails digging into my legs trying to get me to release him, but I just hold on stronger and as Drogo came to the count of five, Liam was already in his human form and about to pass out as I was clamping so hard that in one move I can break his neck. Drogo then announced, “and the winner is Scarlet.” At that I released Liam from my hold and was amazed that he still had his clothes on.

“How do you still have your clothes on?” As I learned that they tore their clothes when they turned into wolves. He just laid next to me trying to get his breath back as Marcus answered for him. “That is the perks of being a royal I guess.” I just nodded at that not having energy to actually do more. We laid like that for a few minutes and then I heard Alexander letting out a growl and I sat up wondering what was wrong now and that was when I notice he was looking at my wounds as he asked, “Why are you not healing it has been long enough, you should have been healed. Then I felt Chin next to me with the first aid kit looking at the damage. “Well Baby girl….” We heard another ear piercing growl and I knew what it was about. “Listen Alexander this is getting very irritating, Chin is my friend and my mentor he has been calling me that for four years now and it is not going to change understand so stop with this growling of yours.” “I don’t like it,” he said with a much deeper voice and I knew his wolf was probably trying to take over and I just replayed with, “well that sound like a you problem not an our problem.” He just stood there not saying anything back and I stood up winching a little at the pain that shoot through my body and I notice the worried look on his face. “Please Alexander do not fight me on this he is just my friend.” “Please just tell me why you are not healing?” he asked and I could hear the pleading in his voice that made my heart ache. I turned around and took a seat on the bench against the wall so that Chin can take a look at my wounds. I saw the pain in Alexander’s eyes and I must say I did not like it. “Alexander just like everyone else we also have our weakness. Our weakness is we do not heal as fast as the rest of the inhumane, we heal faster than humans but it takes us a day or two, too heal from certain wounds.”

As I looked into Alexanders eyes I notice that they have turned almost black now and he growled out as he turned his attention at Liam. I look over at Liam and see the apologetic look on his face as he look back at me and said, “I am so sorry Scar I didn’t know, why didn’t you tell us sooner?” “Now if I would have told you about it we would not have had a decent fight, now would we?” “Probably not but I could have killed you.” I could not help but to laugh at that. “O darling you could not have killed me even if you wanted to, no offense. “How is that not offensive,” he said as he striated up a little. I must have hurt is ego a little there. “Liam you may be faster than me, but I am stronger than you. So don’t worry about it, I will be healed by tomorrow. So Chin what is the damaged?” I asked as I looked down at him. “The claw marks are all the way to the bone and the bite mark as well, we will have to stitch you up,” he said with a sigh.

As he said that Alexander launched at Liam as his wolf took over, but before he could touch him, Violet stood in front of him pushing her aura out and stop him, so that he could not move as she spoke. “It is not Liam’s fault, my mother knew the danger and she can handle herself so calm down now!” She said it with so much authority in her voice that we all felt compelled to listen to her. I was so proud at that moment at the strength she had that it felt my heart was going to explode, but I was also a little scared, I must admit as she is only fourteen and already matching my strength. Everybody just stared at her not believing what they are seeing. “Violet that is enough you can calm down now princess.” As she hear my command she could not help but to submitted to it as I am still her mother and that will never change.

“So it is true you guys are really as powerful as they said, but if you can do that how did they kill all the assassins and even if it is only the royals having that much power the princess should have been strong enough to stop them?” I heard Marcus asked. Which made me look at Chin wanting clarity on this, but Drago was the one to answer. “Not many people had the privilege to meet the queen back then, but I did and I must confirm that the queen back then was not able to wield the power that you two are wielding. “But how is that possible we came from the same bloodline as her,” Violet asked. “I don’t know we will have to ask the other elders they should have an idea as one of them is Amara.” “Baby girl…” he stop at that all of us looking at Alexander waiting for the growl, but it never came. I could see the battle he had within him to keep it back and I could not help but to smile at that. Chin then draw his attention back at me and continue in saying, “you need to take your shirt off so that I can stitch your shoulder.” As I had my training bra on I had no objection to his request and took my shirt off. Then I saw everyone just staring at me and Alexander growling. “You guys can wait downstairs,” he said in his Alpha voice and they did as he asked without taking a second glance at me. “And you,” he said while looking at me. “You will never take of your shirt in front of any one do I make myself clear.” I just looked at him with one of my eyebrows lifted, knowing I will not win this one. “Well now that you chased everyone out who is going to stich my shoulder up, smart guy.” He looked at me with his eyes narrowed and came closer picking up the needle to get started at stitching me up.
