SWNOVELS Chapter CHAPTER 11
As we came down the stairs dressed in our all black attire, we saw Chin and Peter standing at the bottom looking as if they were going to burst a vain in their heads. “Scarlet please just think about what you are about to do. We do not know anything about what really is going on down there and what we are about to walk into.” Chin said with a pleading look on his face. “Chin I do not want to hear more about this there are human lives at stake here and I would not have gotten the vision if our help was not needed. So we are going to do this with or without you, but it will be a lot quicker if we had your support. With a sigh Chin just said, “You are so stubborn you know that,” and turned to walk away when Peter suddenly said, “Scarlet you are not just endangering your live but the live of you daughter as well.” As if on cue I felt a sharp pain in my chest and looked at Violet. She is all I have left, I don’t know what I would do if anything is to happen to her. I would lose my mind. Fucking Peter, why must he always let me second guess my decisions. We have trained for this, why am I now so hesitant to go?
As if reading my thoughts Violet spoke up, “Mom please stop over analyzing the situation, we have been training for years for this. This is what we were born to do; we have to protect the humans against things they should never have to know about. We are going and that is final.” “Princess you are defiantly your mother’s daughter.” Peter just nod his head and walked over to Chin who was busy getting his phone out. “Rick please prepares the jet we are leaving in fifth teen minutes. At that Violet and I came down from the staircase with smiles plastered on our faces, knowing that we have won this little battle. We then went into the office to grab our weapons and left the mansion.
After settling into the plain, Peter gave us an update on what was happening in Transylvania. “The Elites have arrived at the pack house a while back and have send Jason out to go and scout the area to find out where the Vampires are and what their plan is. Nicklaus is getting very suspicious of us poking around and asked me if we had something to do with this. I inform him that we trained new worriers and was just finding out if it would be helpful to send them out there to assist.” “Well I hope that he doesn’t mention this to Liam now that will be attention that we really don’t want right now.” “He gave me his word that he will not talk about this with the Elites and you know he always keeps his word.” Chin just nodded at this and looked out of the window as in deep thought.
I looked over to Violet that have putting her headphones on and was laying back in her seat, listening to her music. Then my mind started to drift back to what Peter said earlier, am I really putting Violets live in danger for nothing. I would kill anybody or anything if they did something to her. She is my live and I would protect her with mine, but was the lives that have been taken really worth taking her out there into the danger into a live full of death and brutality. It was as if my conscience have awakened and I heard a small voice in my head telling me that it is worth it. Even if there was only one live taken we were to protect it at all cost, we are the guardians, the ones with the gifts to help the humans against those who think less of them. Even after King Corvene took over the humans were still being treated unfairly as if they meant nothing.
Just like that I was pulled out of my thoughts when I hear Peter spoke. “Jason has reported back to the pack about the Vampires.” At that Violet was sitting straight up and listing at the information given. “There are around a hundred and fifth teen Vampires just outside the packs borders in the forest on the left side. All of them are new born.” I looked at him with confusion on my face. “Why would someone create so many newborn Vampires’?” “We don’t know the reason as yet, but we know the pack had killed some Vampires two years back that was creating havoc on the human town nearby. “So you think that someone is trying to get revenge on the pack?” “Yes we think so, but Jason also informed them that the Vamps are stronger than usual newborn and it looked like they were feeding every day for a while now.” “So what are you saying exactly, that they have taken humans from other towns as well?” “I think so Princess.” “Well then why did mom only see it now and not before when they just started? “I think it is because mentally she was not strong enough yet. You saw how your mother look after the vision, if it would have happen earlier she would probably have landed in the hospital or worse died.” Chin face was hard and very serious when he said that. It looked like he really was not happy with the mission that we were about to do, especially with the news that they looked stronger than normal. “So we know they are newborn and strong, but they are not strong enough to go and fight in daylight as yet so they will only attack the pack at sunset.” “So the Elite’s will probably go and kill them now before a blood bath can start?” I asked Chinn. “Sorry Baby girl but they will not. They are not allowed to do that, they are only allowed to kill if they are under attack or if they are protecting someone that is under attack.” “So they have taken human lives the humans are under attack.” “Humans do not matter that much to them I am really sorry girls but that is just how it is.” “Well that is about to change!” Violet started to get very agitated now with this whole story. “Calm down Princess, don’t get too worked up right now otherwise you are going to make mistakes during the battle.” Now Peter started to look worried.
We all just sat there for a few minutes thinking about everything. I started to think about the daylight thing. If the Elite’s will not fight before the attack and the Vampires will not attack until sunset, then this will be the perfect time for us to do our thing. “Chin how long do we have until sunset?” “Well we will land in about half an hour so we will still have four hours till sunset.” “Then that is great news guys!” All three of them just looked at me as if I have spoken in another language. “Look we are trained to take over three hundred inhuman at a time right, so we can be in and out without even meeting the Elite’s and them barbering you with questions about us. You guys can wait here, you can send in your drone with us and we can get the job done, without them linking anything to us.” “Scar there will still be questions and the Alpha of the pack will know that we are behind this.” “But you said that he never goes back on his word so he will not tell anyone that you know something right?” “I hate to say it Chin but I think Scar has something here and no matter how strong the Vamps are there is no way that they are strong enough to take on Scar and Vi.”
After a long silence Chin just nod his head and said, “it looks like the safest root for me so....let’s do it. Buckle up we are about to land.” Then Chin just turned to the window looking out and not looking very happy with the decision that was made. I looked at Violet and she just nodded at me with a big smile on her face, I could feel the excitement coming off her and it was addictive.
When we landed and gotten everything that we needed, Chin just send his drone out not even looking at us and said that we must be careful. I did not understand the reason why he was acting the way he was and it was bothering me, but Peter just said that Chin always locked his emotions away when it came to something like this because your enemies will use it against you if they can. So we just left it and jumped into the nearest tree, to go from tree to tree like we did when we went after the Werewolf’s. “Well mom at least our lives are not boring.” “No love at least that is true.” I said while chuckling a little. We then closed our eyes and started to push our auras out so that all our senses will get heighten and with that we will be able to track the Vamps. As I started to concentrate on the sounds around me, I heard people talking about strategy and how they were going to handle the Vampires when they started to attack. I guess that was Liam talking as I remember Chin saying that that was his specialty. Then I started to hear a sort of streaking noise coming from my left side. It almost sounded like cats that were going to fight and I knew that is where the Vamps are. So I looked at Violet and nod while putting my mask on. I told her to pull her aura in a little so that her eyes did not glow as much and so that they will not sense us through our auras. Then we took off through the forest jumping from one tree to the other until we were about two miles from them. We sat there in silence looking and analyzing everything that was going on. Luckily they were hiding in the shade under the trees so it will be easier to get in the middle of them. After a few minutes we started to move again through the trees, being as silent as we can to not raise suspicion among them.
Once we reached the tree that looked more or less in the center of them, we looked at each other once again and I showed Violet with my hands that we have to stay back to back and be vigilant of our surroundings. Then she gave me a nod and took out her guns and that was when we pushed our auras out to heighten our senses even more and we landed right in the center of the crowd. Not waiting to see what they are going to do we started shooting in the same movements as Chin and Peter taught us, so that we can kill as many of them as possible. After we ran out of bullets we reached for our swords, standing back to back and letting our auras entwine with one another. We were feeling each other with our emotions, anger, determination, excitement and a little bit of fear. Which was fine because everyone knows that fear keeps you on your toes.
We started to slice off the Vamps heads that got near us, sometimes stabbing them multiple times before we could get to their heads. You could see that these Vampires had some training as some of them were able to counter our attacks, but Violet and I just kept on slicing through them make almost a little dance with our swords. Then I felt a stinging sensation and then pain shot through the link in my aura that I had with Violet. As I turned around I saw her lying on the ground with three Vamps on top of her and more and more were coming from all sides of us. I did the only thing I knew to get a distance between us and the Vamps, so I threw my swords out as if they were Frisbee’s slicing through any Vamp that came near my back. Then I took out my Scythe and hit the bottom of it on the ground so that the top will open up letting my blade show, but as I hit the scythe on the ground I pushed my aura out as much as I could sending the Vampires fling into the trees. I felt my anger started to take over and remembered that Violets was probably hurt and that I could not lose control now. When I looked at her she was already standing at my back with her swords ready to go on with the fight, like the warrior princess she is. I must admitted that it took me a few minutes to get back into the fight as I was fighting against my motherly instincts to see if Violet had any cuts and bruises on her. The thought of her getting hurt just fueled my desire to rip them all apart and that is exactly what I did. As one of them blindsided me cutting me open on my left hand side under my rips with his nails. I took my scythe and flipped it throe the air gutting his head off and knowing that I could not leave Violets back to go and retrieve it, as it will put her in danger. I started to fight with my hands and ripping off their heads from their bodies as my aura was at full strength at this point in time. After what feels like forever we killed of the last one as Violet used her swords slicing to both sides. I just grabbed her and enfolded her in a tight hug, relieved that we have made it through this and knowing that not one of them will ever hurt another human again.
“Mom you are going to break me.” With a sigh I let her go and notice something moving at her back. As I pushed her to the side I notice that it is an outline of someone’s body moving around and that is when I heard Violet saying, “Jason?” Then he started to materialize in front of us, but at the same time I heard a lot of voices coming from behind knowing that he probably told them that the fight was over. So I grabbed Violets hand and started running as fast as we could, pick up my weapons as we went and jumped into the nearest tree using it to cover us. Jumping from tree to tree, making sure not to make too much noise as they will be able to follow us if we do. In the corner of my eye I picked up a movement on my right and new that it was Jason following us. I stop and turned to him pushing my aura out as much as I can again, making him bow his head at me and told him to stop following us. As we turned around and started to go again, I noticed that he was not following as if I froze him in one place. “Mom how did you do that?” “I don’t know princess but we need to get out of here before the others comes.”
