Chapter 24
Chapter 24
Randall’s eyes turned cold instantly upon hearing this.
The fact that this woman had investigated him so thoroughly, even knowing about the wolf–head gold pendant, was astonishing.
This woman was extraordinary.
Rising from his seat, Randall approached Christine with an icy aura that sent chills down her spine.
His gaze
wandered over her figure as he spoke in a low voice, “You put in a lot of effort to get close to me.”
The aura of killing intent emanating from Randall made Christine feel unsettled. She furrowed her brows in confusion and said, “I just came back to look for something I lost Mr. Reeves, you’re overthinking it, aren’t you?”
Under the pretext of searching for her lost item, Christine did indeed approach Randall. It was true that she had recently lost a wolf–head gold pendant.
That was the wolf–head gold pendant she had obtained six years ago on that fateful night.
She knew she should have thrown away the wolf–head gold pendant, but inexplicably, she held onto it for these past six
years.
However, she couldn’t understand why it went missing in the past few days.
It was originally a trivial excuse, and she wondered why Randall suddenly became so cold and intense.
“I also lost a wolf–head gold pendant,” he blurted out.
Upon hearing Randall’s words, Christine was taken aback and stuttered, “You… you also lost a wolf–head…gold pendant?”
Shock and disbelief filled Christine’s expression, while Randall smirked and said, “Nice acting skills, and you’ve got some charm too. You’d make a good actress.”
Randall’s hand reached for Christine’s face, but she swiftly slapped it away, exclaiming angrily, “Mr. Reeves, don’t touch me, or I’ll render your hand useless!”
Christine thought that if she were to chop off Randall’s hand, it would make things easier. She could then take his hand along with her to conduct a paternity test on her two sons.
Of course, Randall was unaware of the crazy thoughts going through Christine’s mind.
The paternity testing personnel had never encountered such a high–cost sample for a paternity test.
“Wanting to chop off his hand? Was she using a strategy of luring him in?” he thought inwardly.
Randall looked at Christine, finding her the epitome of drama and fussiness.
“There are countless women around me who try to get close, but none have your level. I have to admit that you’re truly outstanding.” he remarked.
Christine’s mouth twitched, as she didn’t consider Randall’s words to be a compliment.
“If it weren’t for wanting to pull his hair, I would turn and leave, she thought inwardly.
“He never even considered that I was protecting him and dared to mock me.”
“I really want to leave, allowing my precious sons, Oliver and Milo, to deal with him,” she thought.
Driven by an innocent belief, Christine suppressed her anger with a sense of innocence, “It’s just a coincidence, Mr. Reeves. You’re overthinking taings, Christine Paul forced herself to smile and replied insincerely.

“The wolf–head gold pendant I lost is a family heirloom for the Reeves family’s mistress. After losing it, I spent a considerable sum of money searching for it, but to no avail. I’m wondering if the gold pendant you lost might be the one I
lost.”
Christine was taken aback. Her luck was truly terrible.
Nonchalantly mentioning that she lost something, only to find out that it ended up being lost together with someone else’s belongings.
What’s more, it was an item that the Reeves family gave to the Reeves family’s mistress, so now Randall probably thought she deliberately said it to get close to him.
“Could she still say that she lost a bracelet instead?” she said inwardly.
Christine felt utterly helpless.
“I shouldn’t have mentioned such an unlucky thing!” she thought inwardly.
“The one I lost is definitely different from yours. Mine is not a wolf’s head. It’s a dog’s head,” she responded.

Randall fixed a playful gaze on Christine and leaned closer, saying with an ambiguous tone, “Looks like we should/ thoroughly study whether it’s a wolf’s head or a dog’s head, shouldn’t we?”
Christine had no interest in studying heads, whether wolf or dog.
As Randall drew closer to Christine, she could feel the warm breath escaping his lips, brushing against her skin. Instinctively, she moved away but thought that getting closer would allow her to pluck his hair.
She cautiously leaned back in.
However, in Randall’s eyes, her cautious movement of leaning back was perceived as a deliberate tease, as if she wanted to draw closer to him.
He sneered and deliberately evaded her.
Christine was just about to act, but Randall’s retreat foiled her plans.
She had missed her chance yet again. Frustrated, Christine almost cried out of exasperation.
It seemed that pulling hair wasn’t a good strategy. At that moment, Christine noticed a cup of coffee on the table.
A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes.
Gracefully, she walked over to the table, picked up the untouched coffee, and said with a sly smile,
“Mr. Reeves, we’ve been studying for so long. The coffee must be getting cold. Please drink it quickly.”
Christine’s sudden eagerness for him to drink the coffee made Randall’s eyes narrow, and he remarked, “It seems that you’ve tampered with this cup of coffee.”
Christine feigned a smile and said, “Mr. Reeves, you’re overthinking it. How could I possibly tamper with your coffee? I just thought you might be thirsty, so please, go ahead and drink it.”
Christine pushed the coffee toward Randall, but her obsequious expression was obviously off.
“There was definitely something wrong with that coffee,” he said inwardly. Her eagerness to have him drink the coffee raised even more suspicion in Randall’s eyes.
“I won’t drink it,” he replied.
Without hesitation, he casually flicked his hand, causing the coffee cup to fall and shatter on the ground, spilling coffee everywhere.
Seeing the mess on the floor, Christine apologized. “Mr. Reeves, I’m truly sorry for breaking your coffee cup. Let me clean it up.”
“No need, call the cleaning staff, Randall responded.
Before Randall finished his sentence, Christine was already started picking up the broken pieces from the ground. She noticed he was about to use the internal hotline to call the cleaning staff.
Christine hurriedly intervened, saying, “Mr. Reeves, it’s unnecessary. I can handle it.”
In her haste, Christine accidentally cut Randall’s hand with the shards of the coffee cup.
In a moment of panic, Christine quickly grabbed a tissue from the table and started wiping the blood off Randall’s hand.
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Reeves. I’m truly sorry. My clumsy hands can’t even handle a cup of coffee properly. Now I’ve even caused you harm. I’m truly sorry,” she apologized sincerely.
“Do you think spilling the coffee will destroy the evidence? I can still have it tested for any substances you might have added, Randall said, his
gaze stern
Christine lowered her eyes with a saddened expression and said, “Mr. Reeves, there’s really nothing wrong with the coffee. You have to believe me.”
Randall looked at Christine’s feigned pitiful expression and became even more convinced that something was wrong with the coffee
His eyes turned cold as he directly embraced Christine and pressed her against the boss’s chair.
The chair swayed violently with her pinned beneath him, causing Christine’s heart to race.
“Randall, let go of me! Why are you pressing me down like this?” she exclaimed, her voice filled with anger.
Randall smirked at Christine and said, “You drugged the coffee and willingly walked into my trap. You’re not here to find something. You’re here to steal.”
Christine was instantly stunned, amazed at how cunning Randall could be. She didn’t expect him to see through her intentions so quickly.
“Indeed, I did come to steal something, to steal your hair,” she thought to herself.
And now I have succeeded in stealing something of equal value, the tissue stained with your blood,” she said inwardly.
A tissue stained with Randall’s blood would enable her to conduct a paternity test on her two sons.
In a moment of embarrassment, Christine tried to defend herself and said, “You’re the CEO of Reeves Group. How could I dare to steal from you?”
“It’s precisely because I’m the CEO of Reeves Group that you drugged the coffee, intending to steal… my sperm,” Randall said with a wicked grin.
