The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

Chapter 8: Whole world on fire

Calvin thought of spending some time with his sister rather than sleeping, and also he had to return back to his love as well. He couldn't stay away from her for long, and this was the both-way feeling; even Roselet couldn't stay away from him for more than a day.

When he walked out of the room, he watched her sister throwing a tantrum.

“I don't want to eat anything.” She whined and walked here and there in the living room while her mate followed her with a plate in his hand.

"Just a little, Liara. You need to eat something; you vomited everything that you ate in the morning.” "Please!! I'm requesting you.”

“I'm doing the same. Come here, love.” Calvin's eyes widened in shock upon hearing this. The last thing he remembered from his previous meeting, Liara’s mate, didnt want her but Tiara.

Liara shook her head and hid behind Calvin, teasing her mate.

"Give this plate to me. I will make sure that she will finish everything.” Calvin offered his help, on which his brother-in-law gave him a plate, and left from there.

“Come here!l” Calvin said, holding her arms to make her sit on the couch.

“I don't want to eat.”

“All right, just seven spoons,” Calvin said, already calculating that how he could make her eat all the oats. He had a habit of handling his princess, so he knew how to make some eat the whole food. “I promise, just seven spoons.”

"Okay! Seven spoons.” Liara agreed.

"So, you're happy with him?” He questioned, to which she nodded her head. “But he didn't want you in the beginning as much as he was interested in Tee.” He pointed out. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"Sometimes things are not exactly what it looks like,” Liara said before adding. “Sometimes our own eyes and ears can deceive us.”

“Ahh!l Maybe you're right. And how're you adjusting yourself in this... hellhole?”

“Look around. Do you think that I'm in hell?” Liara questioned. “Dad... I mean, his father started making changes in this place from the moment I came here! Everyone around here is different but... but not bad, at least, not his family members.”

“Does that mean others are bad?” Calvin asked in concern. Liara didnt reply to anything for a while. “Tell me, Lee.”

“They are rouges, Calvin, and because of me, dad is making rules, changing ways of living, so yes, I'm trouble in most of the rouge’s eyes. But you don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself, and my new family is with me.” Liara responded. Calvin clenched his jaw in anger but kept his mouth shut. “By the way, I'm full now.” She said, pushing the plate away.

“But two spoons are still left.”

“I'm done, please. Or I will vomit all.” Liara said, making a face. Calvin didn't insist on her and finished her remaining oats. “What the? Why are you eating my leftover food? You used to hate doing that.”

“Those habits are long gone. My love has a habit of tasting everything and then leaving it, so I now started eating leftovers.” Calvin chuckled.

“So, what have you thought about her Mommy?” Liara asked, smiling.

“That woman.” Calvin shook his head in a big NO.

"Don't tell me that you lost your taste in women after Rose's arrival. I found her beautiful and...”

“I don’t want anyone to keep a beautiful Luna as a showpiece. At the end of the day, I believe in inner beauty more than outer appearance, and a woman who can sleep with some random person even when she has a mate is characterless in my life. And you don’t know anything about her. I met her once before that night; of course, she was a best friend of a golddigger and character woman. Can you imagine that? On the top, she was trying to protect a witch like that even though she knew that her best friend was wrong and was lying.”

With that, Calvin told her everything that had happened years back.

“You could have revealed her real face just in front of your friend as well instead of making that wedding an entertainment show,” Liara said to which Calvin rolled his eyes. “I know you were doing the right thing, but by doing this, you created a situation in the wedding because of which you have no idea how much embarrassing it would have become for the bride's family members to get punished for nothing.”

“Listen to me, big brother! How will you feel if anyone will insult our parents for the mistake that you made?” Liara asked, stopping him from speaking.

“I can't believe that you have grown up this big. I mean, it was a matter of yesterday when I used to help you with your studies.” Calvin muttered, on which Liara smiled and nodded her head when someone approached her with a file in her hand.

“Here!! This is the medical report of Ethlyn, as well as background detail of her. I came to know that my wolf had sensed her as Rose's Mommy a long ago, but I didn’t inform you about it because I wanted to wait till she woke from her coma.”

“I won't try to change your thought about her, not when I don't know a thing about her and not when I know that one can never think positively about anyone unless he or she wants to think on his or her own. You will think about her in a negative way, then everything that she does, you will find a negative reason to point out her mistake.”

“But, yes!! I would like to tell you one thing, Ethlyn was in a coma for the past four years and eight months, so observing her medical history, it's clear that she never abandoned our Rose. Now, reading the file is all your wish.”

"She was in a coma for four years and eight months? What the hell was her wolf doing? Why didn't she heal her human?” Calvin asked in shock because it was rare to hear any werewolves stay in a coma for that long. And he was positive that she was a werewolf when they met for the first time. “There is a nerve in our brains that connects humans with our wolves. With the help of that nerves, we can share our thoughts and talk with them at that the same time; it also connects humans with the wolf. So, whenever someone injects us wolfsbane, it affects that part of the nerve because of which..."

“Can you not explain me in a medical way? But in a simple way?”

“The nerve in her brain that connect her wolf and her human body was damaged, because of which her wolf couldn't heal her,” Liara responded to him. “Her wolf could have healed it in the first place when it was damaged, but she gave more priority to something else or someone else, because of which Ethlyn’s condition worsened.”

“Are you trying to say that Ethlyn was pregnant when she met with... this accident?”

"Yes. I feel so. I couldn't dig out the internal things, but that's my experience and knowledge speaking.” Liara replied. “I couldn't get a chance to check on her after she woke up. So, I'm not sure whether she is awake after all this year because of her wolf's help or her own. Her parents ran away from our hospital as if they had seen some ghost.”

"Our hospital?” Calvin asked in surprise. “You have a hospital in this Black Council.”

“Umm... yeah!! I told you things are changing, and credit goes to me for that.” Liara smiled. “So, what was I speaking about before? Yes, her parents..."

“Leave HER topic for a while. You haven't asked a thing about Mom, dad, and the rest of the family members?” Calvin asked, changing the topic.

“I know Mom and dad aren't happy by kicking me out. So, I don't have to ask about them, and I already knew what was going on in my sibling's life, so I didn't ask about any of them.” She replied, to which Calvin furrowed his eyebrow in confusion. “He keeps me updated about everyone's life, you know.”

Calvin caressed her cheek and kissed her forehead after leaning toward her.

“I didn’t bring anything for you and for your pup or pups,” Calvin said, recalling how most of the time, their family had made a list of twins kids. “But I do know what you both need the most, and I promise to get you that as soon as possible.”

“The doctor couldn't save your pup.” This sentence triggered Ethlyn to the extent that she lost control of her mind and body, and out of nowhere, Cinder growled at her, taking control of Ethlyn’s body.

“Lies.” She growled, jerking Abigail's hand away from Ethlyn’s face.

Everyone was taken aback by Cinder's presence. “Enough of calm tone. Tell me, where is my pup?” “Cinder, give the control back to your human,” Nathan ordered, on which she kept glaring at him. "Cinder..." He tried to use his Alphas aura on her, on which she scoffed before speaking.

“You're not my Alpha. Neither am I your pack member.” She said without any ounce of emotion. “Now, tell me the truth about my pup, or I will set the whole world on fir..." Immediately she stopped speaking when she felt something injected into her body.

She rolled her eyes and looked at Abigail, standing beside her with an injection in her hand. “Mooommm,” Ethlyn whimpered in pain.

"Sleep, sweetheart,” Abigail whispered, caressing her hair and making her sleep on her bed properly. “What was that, Mom, dad?” Reva asked in tension and confusion.

“Nothing, Reva. Your sister can't take the news of her pup’s death; that's why she behaved like this.” Abigail answered.

"Yes, nothing serious, Reva. A mother inside Ethlyn got pissed, hearing rubbish for her pup. And if this mother won't be able to calm down, then just like she said, she will set the whole world on fire.” Christian taunted Abigial indirectly.
