The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

Chapter 14: Mommy?

Christian Smith was shocked to learn that her younger daughter was the mate of the Beta of “BLOOD MOON PACK.’ Years back, everyone had thought that by leaving Roselet at that pack, everything would end with the pack but little did anyone know that chapter was not over yet.

“Now that Beta Zordan has already found his mate, there is no use in wasting time by asking every unmated female of the pack to visit the pack house,” Nathan said. “I have called you and Reva here... but... Reva, being Reva, has sworn not to listen to me. Or maybe because of the misunderstanding that happened last night.”

“Misunderstanding?”

"Yes!! Beta Zordan is here with his niece. Reva saw them together and assumed them as father and daughter.” Nathan said what his Beta had told him. “I'm not sure, but this is what John informed me. They are coming to my office anytime soon.”

"Hmm!" Christian nodded. “Moon Goddess, Abby will never get ready for this bond." he thought, knowing his mate very well after all they had completed twenty-five together.

“I know the history of the Blood Moon Pack. And I know that Aunt Abby wouldn't want to keep any relation with anyone from that pack, but I can't interfere between mate bonds topic.”

“I know,” Christian replied. “Only Reva has the right to decide about it, and since she doesn't know the past, no one knows what she will decide,” he added and sensed their presence. In the next moment, the door of Nathan's office opened, and Christian's eyes widened when he saw Roselet walking in and looking at a cinderella. He quickly changes his expression back to normal.

He wanted to reach near her and hug her dearly. He even ignored the introduction pack because his eyes were on his granddaughter, who was looking at Nathan.

"Hello, Alpha Nathan!! I'm Rose.” She said, introducing herself and bowing her head in respect. "Aww! You're so cute.” Nathan smiled and left his chair.

“Thank you, Alpha. Everyone says that frequently.” Roselet replied confidently.

"And everyone is true about it,” Nathan said and couched down at her height, pinching her cheeks. “You look like mini Cinderella.”

“Thank you again, Alpha. You're handsome too.” Roselet said and kissed his cheek, leaning toward him. Nathan melted at her sweet gesture and hugged her. A part of him regretted again for kicking Ethlyn out of the pack that day. He could have accepted her pups and become the father of pups. Breaking the hug, Nathan spoke, “Beta Zordan, your niece is such a charmer.”

“I know.” Zordan smiled, caressing her hair.

"Alpha Nathan, can I see your packhouse? It looks beautiful from the outside.” Roselet requested so that she could start looking for her mommy, who was supposed to be Alpha Nathan's mate.

“Rose, stay with me,” Zordan said. It was a written script. So, he said, showing his fake anger.

“Let her look around, Beta Zordan. I guess that's why she is here to enjoy herself. I will ask John to..." “I will show her around. You can ask John to take them to my house.” Christian said, cutting him in between. He wanted to grab the opportunity to spend time with his granddaughter.

"Okay, Uncle Christian.” Nathan agreed.

“I will bring her to my home,” Christian said to Zordan, and the rest of his gang started looking at him.

“He is Ethlyn’s father. Is there any chance that he knows Rose's identity?” Zordan thought.

"Okay, Zordy! I will be back after a small tour.” Roselet agreed quickly. “Come on, Grandpa Christian.” She said, grabbing his hand.

"What... what did you say?” Christian asked in surprise.

“You look like an old man, so I called you Grandpa. Is that okay with you?” Roselet asked innocently, knowing very well that he was indeed her grandfather. Calvin had shown her the footage of the CCTV camera. “If you want, I can call you UNCLE because you look just a day older than Alpha Nathan.” She offered with a smile, and turning her head toward Nathan; she winked at him. Nathan chuckled at her cute behavior while Christian laughed.

“Grand. Grandpa, is fine with me,” Christian said, caressing her cheek. “I don't want to be that young,” he added. “Come on; I will give you a tour of the packhouse.”

While Christian started taking her, Nathan asked, “Is she your brother's pup?”

"Ahh. Not Exactly. I'm a single child of my parents. She is the granddaughter of my dad's best friend, and I'm close to her father as well.” Zordan replied. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Why didn’t Beta Zordan tell that Rose is the daughter of his Alpha?’ Christian thought. “Is that because of her safety or.... They find out the truth.’

"She is really a lovely pup. For a while, I wished to have a daughter just like her.” Nathan expressed his view.

“Most of us wish the same,” Lemieux replied. “That's why her father always suggests adopting a female pup rather than just wishing. And pups are like wet soil; they will mold in a shape in which they are given shape,” he added.

'I can believe that Casanova Alpha has such amazing and intelligent pack members. Nathan thought, not knowing that they were talking about the same Casanova Alpha.

"What's your name, dear?”

“Rose.”

"Just Rose?” Christian questioned to confirm his doubt and found her looking here and there.

"Yes, just Rose. It's my nickname.” She came back with a reply quickly.

“And what's your official full name?” Christian asked

"Why are you asking so many questions?” Roselet questioned him back.

“To know you better.”

“I'm sorry, Grandpa. But Daddy says that we shouldn't tell everything to strangers you just met.” Roselet responded cutely. Christian chuckled at her intelligence and gave her a tour of the hour. By observing her expression, it was clear that she was looking for someone.

"Are you looking for Ethlyn, dear?” He couldn't help but ask her directly by taking her to the top of the floor where there was no one to hear them

"Wow!! Your pack is surrounded by so many mountains.” Roselet said, changing the topic.

"Rose!! I know you're smart and intelligent, but it's written on your face that you're looking for Ethlyn, aren't you?” Christian asked on which Roselet felt her plan was exposed. She quickly moved away from him and looked at him, narrowing her eyes.

“Now, tell me the truth. You know that I'm your grandfather, don't you?” Christian questioned her, to which she nodded her head slowly.

He knelt down happily and wanted to hug her, but Roselet's question was coming next. “Do... do you know that I'm your granddaughter?”

“I do. I do, dear. Give your grandpa a hug, princess.” Christian smiled and cried at the same time, opening his arms for her.

“Do you always know about it?” She questioned next in a serious tone. The smile and excitement that she had on her face previously were long gone.

"Dear..."

“That's not the answer to my question, Grandpa.”

“I... I knew about it." Christian accepted, and hearing it, Roselet moved a little more away from him. "Rose, won't you give your grandpa a hug?”

“Where were you all these years?” She asked, and tears started dwelling in her eyes. “If... if you knew, then why didn't you ever come to meet me?” She asked another question.

Roselet took out her hanky from her purse and wiped her tears with it. “Daddy says a friend in need is a friend in deed. And the same rules apply to relations; I won't give my grandpa a hug when he wasn't there to hug me.” She announced her decision.

“Rose... I can explain...” Christian tried to hold her, but she ran away. “Rose!l..” He rose on his feet to talk to her, who was now crying and running away from him. What did he expect? After kicking Roselet from their life, she would accept them with open arms just because she was a pup.

Maybe it was the decision of Abigail, but his crime wouldn't lessen by blaming everything on her head.

"Rosell Wait, dear!! That area of the packhouse is weak.” He yelled, seeing her running in the wrong direction. That part of the pack house was more than a hundred years old. Roselet quickly stopped running and thought to return back to the other direction, and that was when her eyes landed on Ethlyn, who was walking toward the packhouse. She slowly walked near the railing to see her mommy, and surprisingly, she had also worn a blue top, matching her frock.

“Daddy told me that mommy didn't know about me.’ She thought, wiping her tears.

“Rose, come to this side, dear!!” Christian requested, not going to the place where she was because of his weight; the railing or floor might fall down earlier than expected as he could already hear the breaking of the foundation.

"Okay," Roselet agreed and had barely kept a step toward Christian when that area broke and bent down, making her lose her balance. “Aaahhh!!” She screamed in fear and held the railing tightly. Christian could sense that the railing would break anytime, and then it would fall down with Roselet. He ran quickly to check there wasn't someone beneath in that area, and there wasn't, thankfully, and that was when his eyes landed on Ethlyn, who was running to breathe in that area.

“Dad, Moon Goddess, why the hell did you take a pup to that area.’ Ethlyn mind linked him, not believing that that pup was with her father. “Ask her to jump, leaving the railing.’ She added. Her wolf immediately heard the of scream of the pup when Roselet screamed in fear.

“Rose!! Leave the railing and jump.” Christian said to which she shook her head. “Jump, dear!! Ethlyn is there to catch you. If the railing will fall with you, then it might kill anyone who will try to catch you. So jump.” Christian suggested.

"And... and now even your uncles are downstairs, jump.” He added, seeing Lemieux and one other man with him. Closing her eyes, Roselet left the railing and jumped from there. She was waiting for the pain, but after a while, she felt herself in someone's arms and then a loud noise of something falling after her, but by that time, Ethlyn had already moved aside, and that's when the railing fell down, it didn't harm anyone. At the same time, Roselet tightened her grip around her savior without opening her eyes.

“Princess, are you alright?” Lemieux asked, caressing her hair.

"Open your eyes and look around; you're safe now,” Asher spoke. For a while, he felt he was dead. If anything would have happened to Roselet, then Calvin would have killed each of them no matter how close they were close to him.

Roselet slowly opened her eyes, and the person she looked at was the woman for whom she was here.

“Mommy?” Roselet whispered, widening Ethlyn’s eyes, who were looking at her in concern. Lemieux was quick to take her in his arms, realizing what Roselet had just whispered.

"Just like every pup, she missed her mommy after this incident.” He muttered while in these times, everyone was already there. Asher checked her legs and hands in search of any injuries, but he couldn't smelt any.

"How does this happen?” Nathan asked in confusion.

"Why did you take her to the top floor, Dad? And even if you took her there, then you should have been more careful. What if anything would have happened to her? Her parents might have gotten a heart attack after hearing this news.” Ethlyn couldn't help but question her father.

"Ethlyn, relax!! Take a deep breath.” Nathan said, placing his hand on her shoulder. “You look worried and scared like she is her daughter, and you almost got a heart attack. Right now, Rose's heartbeat and your heartbeats are running at almost the same speed.” he joked to lighten the atmosphere.

At Nathan's words, both Ethlyn and Roselet looked at each other. Ethlyn wasn't someone who got attached to any pup by just her look, but for some reason, she was feeling a connection with this unknown pup who accidentally called her Mommy.
