The Rejected Alpha Wolf

Chapter THIRTYFIVE-UNEXPECTED ATTACK (Part 1)

One Month Later: September 14th

Ace POV

It has been a month since the alliance with Espen and the Black Paw Clan. He convinced his people that he had made a better deal with us, and within the first two weeks, I got my Grandfather Aquila to talk to his friend Tommy about getting some supplies for the bears.

After the third week, Tommy got cargo loads of food and clothes to last a few months while they moved onto their new territory. Tommy explained he knew a few bear clans with the resources for Espen and his bears and would talk to them about buying their supplies. I assumed that being a captain and a port shipper. Tommy met a lot of people while traveling the world. When Espen brought his clan over to see how massive the territory was, I saw the joyful faces of his bears.

After talking to my lead construction worker, Nico, he explained that the houses were progressing nicely. The main house was completed, and the furniture would arrive in two weeks. It made me happy knowing I could help a friend who would return the favor.

Speaking of Espen, a week after his clan moved here, we were attacked by many unknown rogues and vampires. As promised, Espen and his bears helped us fight off the intruders, and we sent them packing with their tails between their legs. When I saw Espen and his bears shift into their forms. I was amazed at their size and strength. The use of weapons was also amazing to watch. Espen favors the axe, while his second is a master swordsman.

I knew that this was the work of Silas and possibly Simon, as I assumed they wanted to see how strong we were as a pack. Espen even had some of his bears patrol with my warriors. Julio and Bodvar devised a schedule to patrol the borders so the warriors and bears could rest and prepare for their next shift. This was a well-laid plan, and we hadn't had an attack in a few weeks.

Simon wasn't banking on Espen being our ally and underestimated us. The girls had doctor appointments today. Rachel was in her fifth month, Chloe was in her third month, and Amber was entering her second month. I smiled as I watched the twins curl up next to each other on the screen.

Rachel and I had come up with a few names, and we decided on two out of all the names we played around with. After our appointment, my Mom and Sarah would throw us a baby shower. Rachel was so excited and cried joyfully when she found out my Mom and her Mom were giving us a baby shower.

"Alright, Alpha, Luna. These pups look healthy and seem right on track."

"I would suggest taking it easy the next few days, Luna, alright?" I watched Rachel look at Dr. Scott like he had grown two heads.

"I'm only saying that because you carry Alpha pups and white wolves."

"So, it's possible you could go into labor within the next few days or weeks," I heard her sigh and nod her head.

"Is that something we should be concerned about, Doctor?" I asked as his head turned toward mine.

"Not necessarily Alpha. The higher the rank, the shorter the pregnancy, especially with white wolves," he smiled.

"If I remember correctly, Alpha."

"You were born a few weeks early and right before a snowstorm," Dr. Scott said as I stared at him wide-eyed.

"So just do your normal Luna work and rest your feet as much as possible," the doctor said, looking at Rachel through his glasses.

"Will do, Dr. Scott," I chuckled as Rachel elbowed me, causing me to grunt.

Dr. Scott left as I helped Rachel sit on the bed. After removing the hospital gown, I helped her put on her sundress and bent down to put on her fuzzy slippers.

"Ready?" I asked, standing up straight as Rachel stared into my eyes. She leaned on her tippy toes and kissed my lips.

"Ready," she sighed as I grabbed her hand and led her out of the room. We rode the elevator to the first floor, and once we got off, we headed straight for the family room where Mom and Sarah had the baby shower set up.

"Hey, Mom," I said as Rachel gasped, and my Mother turned and smiled at us.

"You like it?" she asked as Rachel slowly walked to my Mother and hers, hugging both women tightly.

"I love it!" I heard Rachel shout as my Mother chuckled and touched Rachel's round belly.

"I take it you boys love it too," my Mom chuckled and rubbed soothing circles around Rachel's stomach. Sarah was next to feel her grand pups kick.

The room was decorated in the pack colors, with cake, fun games, gifts, and the delicious aroma of food.

"You two arrived early, but everything is set up for the Luna and future Alphas," my Mother smiled as the few guests arrived.

"That's okay. We were waiting for everyone to arrive to make a special announcement," I smiled as my Mother looked at me.

We hadn't told anyone the twins' names yet, so this would be one special surprise for my Mother, Sarah, and everyone. After helping Rachel to her makeshift throne with the chair, saying Mother to be on it, I stood by her side as Chloe and Amber were the last ones to arrive. Carlito and Julio stood to the side.

"How did the appointments go?" I asked the guys in the link.

"We are having a boy," Carlito said through the link.

"Amber is still too early to tell, but everything looks great for our pup," Julio said as I smiled at my two best friends and cleared my throat to get everyone's attention.

"Everyone, thank you for this special occasion for Rachel and me."

"I'm glad everyone pulled together to make this baby shower special for their Luna and future Alphas."

"Rachel and I have a special announcement," I smiled and looked at Rachel as she blushed and kissed me.

"Without further ado, I want to present future Alpha Xander Antonio Silva and his twin brother, future Alpha Xayden Alvarez Silva!" I shouted.

I heard gasps and looked to see my Mother and Sarah with tears in their eyes. I heard claps and cheers as my Mother came over and hugged me tightly.

"I love their names," she sniffled, and I rubbed her back.

"Your Father would be very proud and love that you wanted to name your first son after him," Mom said.

I pulled back as my Mother wiped her eyes with a tissue. I felt strong arms wrapped around me and my Mother, knowing it was my Dad.

"I'm proud of you, son."

"Thanks for honoring me by naming your firstborn after me," he said, patting my back with a nod.

Rachel and her Mother joined in the family hug as we all chuckled and enjoyed the start of the baby shower.

Rachel POV

Ace fed me chocolate strawberries as the baby shower progressed and tended to my needs. Rayne purred quietly in my head, enjoying the special attention our mate was giving us. I laughed excitedly, watching the other women play the baby games. Staci and my Mother were on one team, while Ace's Grandmother and Elizabeth were on another.

I even noticed that Ace's great-Grandmother Daniela and his little sister Ana joined for the baby shower. She sat beside me and talked to the pups as the boys gave off a flutter of gentle kicks. I felt her rub my belly, and one of the twins kicked her hand as she giggled.

"That's Xander," she said, and I looked at her wide-eyed.

"How can you tell?" I asked with curiousness. I watched as her eyes sparkled with excitement as she spoke.

"They told me," Ana giggled.

"Xander is on the right side, and Xayden is on the left," Ana said, causing my eyes to widen.

"How can..." she shook her head.

That's when I realized Staci might be right. Ana may be a white wolf like Ace and her. She may not know it, but Ana will be just as powerful, and she's only 12 years old. Ana may have just communicated with my sons or their dormant wolves through her touch if I didn't know any better.

I may be crazy, but I wonder what age white wolves get their powers. I watched Ana jump off her chair, skip over to where her Father sat, and watch the little girl make the big bad Alpha Dad bend to her will and give her sweets. It was cute and wonderful to see a Father and daughter bond. I sighed and felt Ace grab my hand and kiss the back of it.

The women continued the fun games and incredible food. I felt Ace stiffen beside me and saw his eyes glazed over. I felt bonds breaking as I yelped and held my chest.

"WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! GET EVERYONE INTO THE BUNKERS NOW!" Ace roared in his Alpha tone as everyone began to scatter and run toward the bunkers' safety. Ace and Carlito ran out of the castle to join the fight while Julio stayed behind with the other warriors.

Staci grabbed Ana and ran off. I heard a window shatter as glass flew everywhere. I heard screams and looked to see about five vampires had broken through the window.

"Stay behind me, Ana!" I heard Staci shout as her eyes glowed. She froze the vampires in mid-air. I watched as a large black wolf charged into the fight and ripped the vampires' heads off.

"Woah," I said as Rayne growled.

"Rachel! Behind you!" I heard Staci shout.

Another vampire crept behind me and slashed his claws down my arm. I screamed and covered my belly as Antonio's wolf charged and knocked the vampire into a wall. Blood trickled from the wound as I panted on the ground and held my arm.

"Rachel, hold still," I felt Staci come behind me, and Ana held my other hand.

"Don't cry, sweetie. I'm okay, promise," I told the little girl, and I felt a warm energy flow through me.

I heard flesh being torn as Antonio's wolf was on a rampage, killing vampires and rogues left and right.

"Can you walk, Rachel?" I nodded as Staci and Ana helped me to my feet.

"How did they get past the warriors?" I asked as we walked toward the bunkers.

"I don't know, sweetie, but Antonio and Aquila will keep the castle safe," Staci said.

I saw another massive black wolf join the fight with Antonio and take control of the enemies, trying to get into the castle. I whimpered as I felt more bonds breaking.

"Hold on, Rachel," Staci said, holding me up. I felt another presence beside me as my Mother's scent filled my nose, and she helped Staci hold me up.

We made it to the bunkers as vampires started pouring in from the back of the castle.

"Mommie!" Ana shouted. I watched Staci take charge and saw flames come out of her hands.

"You have fucked with the wrong family!" she shouted.

Staci's eyes glowed a fierce white color, and she shot the flames out of her hands as the incoming vampires burned to a crisp.

"Get inside!" Staci shouted as Ana cried.

"Mommie!" Staci turned and smiled at her daughter.

"Be brave, sweetie," I heard a growl and saw Antonio's wolf come beside his Luna as they fought off the enemies together.

I looked to see Aquila's wolf standing behind us. I screamed and felt a sharp pain course through me, and Ana touched my belly.

"They are coming," Ana said as I felt a rush of liquid slide down my leg as my Mom rushed me inside the bunker.

I saw Staci and Aquila enter the bunker as Antonio kissed his wife and daughter. He left and ran outside to help Ace and the others. Aquila guarded the door with Julio and three other warriors as my Mom laid me on the bed. I screamed again as the pain rippled through me.

"ACE!!!" I shouted as Staci grabbed my hands, and I felt the familiar rush of energy course through me.

Ace POV

Apollo was vicious and killed anything that moved into our path.

"Where the fuck did all these vampires and rogues come from?"

"How did they get past the patrols?" I growled through the link as Apollo ripped out the throat of another rogue.

"Ace?!" I heard my Father's voice in the link.

We watched as Ares barreled through an army of vampires and took them out like it was nothing.

"Ace, Rachel is in labor. Your Mother and her Mother are with her in the bunker."

"She's safe," Apollo whimpered and tried to run back to the castle.

"NO! I know you want to be there for our mates and pups, but we must take care of these assholes first," Apollo got his head back in the game and charged at the incoming vampires. We ripped off heads and tore out throats.

We heard a howl, saw a dark red wolf with an army behind him, and recognized Alpha Patrick and the Wind Howler pack. He howled again and led his warriors into the fight.

"Ace focus," Apollo said.

We continued ripping heads and throats out as Alpha Patrick came beside me and decimated anything in his path.

"Damn," I thought as the Wind Howler warriors showed no mercy in ripping the rogues and vampires apart.

Apollo howled, and I felt a rogue latch onto our shoulder. We rolled our bodies to throw him off. We felt the rogue loosen his grip, and Apollo limped and growled at him as four more appeared behind him.

Patrick POV

I was sitting in my office, with my little lass on my lap, doing paperwork, when she suddenly stiffened.

"Carissa, what's wrong?" I asked her and saw her eyes glazed over. A few minutes later, her eyes cleared, and she gasped.

"Patrick, you need to get to Blue Eclipse now! They are under attack!"

"Czar pushed a link through to me and said they need help!" Carissa said.

I didn't waste time, so I linked my Beta and Gamma and told them about the situation. I ran out of the packhouse and waited for my warriors to arrive.

"WARRIORS!" I shouted to my warriors.

"Blue Eclipse has been like a family to us."

"Let's go there and help our brothers win this battle and destroy these enemies together!" I shouted as my warriors howled.

I shifted into Phelan as my warriors followed, and I led my pack toward the Blue Eclipse territory. Before we left, I told Carissa and my Gamma to call the other allies and explain the situation.

"I hope we aren't too late," Phelan growled.

"Me too, lad, me too," I said as we pushed on.

Once we reached the western border of the Blue Eclipse pack, it was a total shit show. Bodies littered the earth, and Phelan sniffed the air, realizing it was vampires and rogues here.

Phelan let out a growl that these blood-sucking demons and worthless wolves would attempt to attack our ally. Phelan howled and led our warriors into battle. The fighting seemed to be pushed toward the northern part of the territory.

So, that's where Phelan led our warriors, and we saw Alpha Ace and his warriors holding firm. Phelan howled again as my warriors joined in, and we charged into the battle. Phelan went over beside Apollo and helped his friend fight the enemy.

Espen POV

I was sitting in my office in the new house with Björn, reviewing the files for the cargo shipments Tommy sent over a few weeks ago. Ace kept his promise, and within three weeks, we had food, clothes, and homes being built for my bears.

Tommy was a good man and ensured we had enough to last us a few months before he could get the next shipment. I asked him how much the cost was, and he shook his head, stating that Alpha Ace took care of everything and only needed someone to make sure the shipments got picked up and delivered to us.

I was shocked, which is an understatement. Alpha Ace knew how to take care of his people and allies, and because of that, I had my bears helping his warriors guard their territory day and night. Julio and Bodvar devised a patrol schedule so our men could rotate and rest when needed.

"So, what do you think of the new house?" Björn asked, and I looked up from the paperwork.

"What?" I wondered as Björn laughed.

My beast was feeling the place out and wanted to know your opinions. Now that I think about it, Björn's beast was usually the most vocal of the group. Nico and his crew did a fantastic job with the house. It was big enough to house many bears and their families. The house was three stories high, and the rooms and doorways were tall enough that neither of us had to bend our heads to walk through.

"Sir!" I heard Erik shout as he ran through the office door. I stood up.

"What is it?" I watched as he panted and tried to catch his breath.

"Spit it out, Erik!" he stood up straighter and took a deep breath.

"Sir, Bodin and Ivar have not reported in."

"I sent some scouts out to their patrol route, and the scouts found their bodies, along with a few Blue Eclipse warriors!"

"The scouts also report the stench of rouges and vampires on the territory!" my beast growled in my head as Björn stood up.

"Get the bears ready! This is Simon, Ozul, and Prax's doing, and someone alerts Alpha Ace and his warriors now!" I roared.

I ran out the front door and shifted into our bears. We ran to the northern border, where I had Bodin and Ivar patrolling with the Blue Eclipse warriors.

Sure enough, once we got there, we saw the dead bodies and smelled the stench of the enemy. I shifted back, and so did Björn.

"How the hell did they take out two of our bears?" Björn roared as his beast came forward.

"I don't know, but we will find out," I said.

I looked down at Bodin's body and saw a spear sticking out the back. I looked at the spearhead and growled. The spearhead was made of copper. My beast was pissed and wanted to kill something. I looked at the Blue Eclipse warriors and growled. I saw silver-tipped arrows going straight through the wolves.

I heard a twig snap in the forest. My beast growled as about a dozen vampires and rogues stepped out and smiled viciously at us. I shifted and let out a vicious roar loud enough for my bears to hear. I saw Björn and Bodvar shift into their beasts.

I heard thumping paws as our bears joined and fell in line behind their leaders. My beast released a mighty bear roar as we charged into the fight and started ripping the vampires and rogues apart.

Ace POV

After tearing the four rogues apart with Alpha Patrick's help, Apollo sniffed the air as more of our allies came to help. Apollo focused his eyes on the top of the hill and saw four figures watching the fight. Apollo growled as he saw Simon and Silas, two other figures, and more vampires below the hill, with arrows lined with silver tips aimed at us.

"EVERYONE BACK NOW!" I sent it through the link. Alpha Patrick's warriors and mine ran back toward the castle.

"Ace, they won't make it."

"We need to do something," Apollo said as we killed vampires and rogues.

"What can we do, Apollo?" I asked and turned to see the vampires let the arrows go up through the sky.

"Concentrate, Alpha, use our powers and destroy the arrows before they kill our warriors and Alpha Patrick," I forced Apollo to stop and shift back to human form.

"Ace, what are you doing?!" my Father shouted through the link.

"Protecting my pack and family!" I roared and turned back to the enemies.

I closed my eyes and concentrated on all of my powers. I felt the air, water, fire, and earth at my fingertips crack together. I focused on my forcefield and expanded it big enough to surround the territory.

"Apollo, stay with me!" I yelled and felt his energy surge through me.

All of my powers combined, and I pushed my hands out and felt the energy leave my fingertips as an arrow hit me in the shoulder.

"ACE!" my Father shouted in the link, but I ignored him.

"Don't stop, Ace," Apollo encouraged me.

I felt another arrow hit me in the leg. I opened my eyes as they glowed, felt the energy leave my fingertips, and watched a massive wave of air, water, fire, and earth take down the remaining vampires and rogues. The air knocked the arrows back toward the enemy, and their bodies dropped.

"Rachel..." I said and felt Apollo disappear as my body collapsed on the ground. I looked up at the night sky as the darkness consumed me.
