The Rejected Alpha Wolf

Chapter FOURTYONE-THE BIG BATTLE (Part 1)

One Week Later:

Ace POV

"Better, awesome job, Asher," I congratulated one of Alpha Major's warriors for learning to dodge the arrow.

"Alright, who's next?" I asked and looked around at the massive wave of warriors and Alphas at the training session.

Since that night with Rachel, I have felt more relaxed and focused. I don't know if we needed each other or took the day off, but whatever it was helped improve my training stability. I watched as all the Alphas and warriors lined up for technique fighting. Our pack was the strongest, and we used different fighting styles to stay ahead of our enemies. King Magnus, Espen, and their warriors even joined the training sessions. I was getting updated reports on the border patrol while Carlito and Julio took over training.

"Alpha north border is clear as well as the west," I heard Curtis say in the link.

"The south and the east are clear also, Alpha," I heard Denny say as I sighed and focused back on training.

I had Curtis and Denny on border detail with a handful of warriors, with the help of Espen's and Magnus's warriors. I couldn't take the chance of Alpha Simon and his goons trying to breach our borders and surprising us with an attack. All the other allied packs were on standby in case we needed them while the Alphas were at Blue Eclipse.

I looked to the side to see my parents having a training session. It was like watching a dance as they molded together—a fantastic shadow dance they created.

"Is it just me, lad, or is that fucking awesome?" I heard Alpha Patrick say beside me as everyone stopped to watch my parents.

"They are majestic," I heard Alpha Wendell say.

"They do look majestic," I say with a smile.

"How about a full moon dinner tonight, and all of you guys are invited," I say as everyone cheers and howls.

I linked the kitchen staff and asked them to make a big feast for tonight's full-moon dinner. Mrs. Kyra was more than happy to accommodate all the mouths fed tonight. I thanked her, dismissed everyone from training, and said I would see them tonight at dinner.

"Little flower?" I linked with Rachel as I walked toward the castle.

"My sexy Alpha," I heard Rachel purr in the link and chuckled.

"Hey, beautiful, wear something extraordinary for tonight's full moon dinner."

"We are going to celebrate!" I shouted through the link and heard Rachel's giggles.

"Alright, Alpha, I'll get ready and dress up the boys."

"See you soon," Rachel said as I closed the link and walked inside the castle.

I spoke to some of the pack members hanging out and told them about the dinner tonight. I passed the kitchen and checked on Mrs. Kyra, her husband, and the rest of the staff. She told me dinner would be ready at seven pm, and everything was going smoothly. I thanked her, walked toward the elevator, and headed to our floor to shower and change clothes.

After my shower, I towel-dried myself, walked to my closet, and skimmed through my suits. I smiled to myself as I found the perfect color. I wore a blue, teal-colored suit, a black button-up shirt, a matching teal blue vest and tie, and black loafers. After dressing, I styled my curly hair and brushed the sides. I noticed a bit of stubble growing and chuckled to myself, leaving it alone for now. I left the suite and headed toward the elevator.

"Rachel, where are you?" I asked my mate, as I hadn't seen her since this morning.

"I'm at your parent's house while your Mother and my Mother help me get the boys ready," she said, and I smiled.

"Okay, meet me out front so we can greet our guest's little flower," I said and heard her giggle.

"Okay, be out front in ten minutes," she replied, and I closed the link.

I finally made it outside as Carlito, Julio, and their mates waited for me. I chuckled and noticed everyone was dressed to the nines. The guys wore tailored suits like me, while the girls wore color-matching cocktail dresses. Chloe's baby bump was showing more, and she looked very radiant. Amber wasn't far behind, and they found out last week that they were expecting a boy.

I was happy for my friends and the new additions joining us soon. I heard the first set of SUVs pull up and noticed it was my cousin Samson from the Crescent Moon pack. Samson and his brother Sergio stepped out of the first SUV, wearing three-piece Gucci suits with the red pack colors and emblems on their jacket pockets. I smiled and shook my cousin's hand as they approached the steps.

"Where are my Uncle and Aunt?" I asked Samson as he greeted Carlito and Julio.

"They are getting ready to leave to go to Hawaii."

"They wanted me to tell you sorry that they couldn't make the dinner tonight," I smiled at my cousin and nodded in understanding.

I heard the front door open as Rachel walked in. She was wearing a shimmering black cocktail dress. Her hair was curled and pinned up, with a few strands falling around her shoulders. Her makeup was all-natural, and she glowed under the moonlight. The twins were dressed in matching blue suit onesies, and their curls were slicked back.

"Mom," I called to my Mother to get her attention as she smiled at me.

"Is that your doing?" I asked as she chuckled and shook her head.

"Not my doing."

"Ask your Grandmother Evelyn. She did your hair the same way," I laughed, shook my head, and thought about my Grandmother and Grandfather.

With a twin in each arm, Rachel walked over to me, and I leaned over to kiss her cheek. I grabbed Xander from her arm and held him close as another set of SUVs stopped in front of the castle.

Rachel POV

While Ace was greeting Alpha Patrick and Luna Carissa, I was tending to Xayden. At the same time, the other guys talked, and I heard Carissa cooing at Xander.

"Oh, my goddess! Ace, he is too handsome, and goodness me is that Xayden?!" she squealed and walked toward me.

I smiled as Carissa cooed at Xayden, and he gave her a big smile and tried to suckle on the finger he was holding.

"Awe, such a handsome little guy."

"If it weren't for their different colored eyes and scents, you couldn't tell them apart," Carissa said, and I chuckled and rubbed her arm.

"That is the only difference between them," I thought momentarily.

"Well, not only that, but Xander is a bit bossier than Xayden, and Xayden is much more of a sweetie," I kissed Xayden's cheek as he cooed and nibbled his fingers.

We talked for a while until the other Alphas started arriving and greeting us. Ace led everyone inside the castle and toward the massive dining room, where everyone talked and had a good time. I spoke to some of the Lunas present as dinner would arrive in another thirty minutes. I saw Alpha Spencer feeling out of place because he hadn't found his mate yet. I linked Ace to go over and talk to his cousin and to help put his spirit in a better mood.

"Rachel?" I looked over and saw Alpha Spencer's sisters, Wendy and Waverly, smiling and walking around to me.

"Mate!" I heard someone shout and looked to see Tobias looking at Wendy.

"Oh..." I said as he ran toward Wendy and pulled her into his arms. I smiled and congratulated them on their mating.

"Mate!" I heard again as Rafe came over to Waverly.

It was weird because when Spencer and his twin sisters came to visit sometimes, Tobias and Rafe would always be out on patrol, but I'm glad they finally found each other. So, both girls would move to the Blue Eclipse pack to be with their mates. I looked at Ace and Alpha Spencer and saw him sniffing the air.

"What is he smelling?" I wondered and excused myself.

I walked over to where Ace was, and Alpha Spencer walked off.

"Ace?" I called to him as he turned, and he smiled at me.

"Did Spencer?" I started to ask, and Ace smiled, nodding his head.

I heard the kitchen door swing open as Mrs. Kyra stepped inside and said that dinner was ready, and everyone began to take their seats. Mrs. Kyra and the kitchen staff started rolling out carts of food-covered trays. There was enough food to feed an army of wolves. I sniffed the air as my mouth watered at the deliciousness served tonight. After everyone received a food tray, Mrs. Kyra had another worker bring out two more carts. These two held four delicious-looking strawberry shortcakes.

"Who made the cakes?" I asked Ace.

"My great-Grandmother Daniela," he smiled and kissed my cheek.

I heard the dining room door open and saw Alpha Spencer walking in with a cute brunette girl on his arm as he led her to a chair.

"Who is that?" I asked Ace as he looked.

"That's Alpha Derek's sister Darcy."

"She came with him tonight hoping she would find her mate," Ace smiled at me as we began to uncover our food.

I drooled as I looked at my food: beef Wellington, roasted root vegetables, scalloped potatoes, and traditional Yorkshire pudding rolls. Everyone was gossiping about the dinner before even putting a fork full in their mouths; I smiled as everyone started digging in and heard the gasps and awes at how well the food tasted. Conversations were going around the table as laughter and joy could be heard.

Ace conversed with the guys, and I talked to Staci and my Mother. I was about to put a fork full of meat and vegetables in my mouth when I felt Ace stiffen beside me. I saw his eyes were clouded, as were Carlito's and Julio's. I knew then something was wrong and began to panic.

"Attention, everyone!" Ace shouted and stood up.

"Alpha Simon and his allies have breached our borders."

"Get the elderly, women, and pups into the bunkers now!"

"Alphas, get your warriors here!" Ace shouted in his Alpha tone as everyone began to scatter, screaming and yelling.

I quickly gathered Xayden while Ace handed Xander off to my Mother.

"Go with your Mother and keep the boys safe," Ace said, and I grabbed his arm.

"What about you?" I said and started crying.

"I have to protect the pack, Rachel."

"As the Alpha, that is my duty."

"I promise to come back to you and our boys," Ace said, kissing my lips as I let him go.

Rayne howled in my head as we watched our mate enter the battle ahead. I wiped my eyes, gathered Chloe, Amber, and my Mother, and headed toward the nearest safe bunker.

"Where is Staci?" I asked and looked around the castle as the others followed.

"I saw her leave with Ace and the others," my Mother said as a warrior ran toward us.

"Luna," he bowed and helped me escort everyone inside the bunker.

"What is your name?" I asked as he helped with the pups.

"My name is Francisco, Luna Rachel," he bowed and entered the bunker with another warrior.

I heard the door close, and the locks clicked in place. After the first attack, Ace modified the bunkers with automatic locks and hidden cameras inside the castle and around the borders. We even stocked all the bunkers with necessary items, such as food, water, baby items, and first aid necessities.

I walked over to the CCTV table and clicked on the cameras. I saw over a dozen warriors and were-bears guarding the castle and clicked a button to switch to the border cameras. I gasped as I saw the devil himself.

"Silas," I whispered as his wolf Spike fought against our warriors.

I saw another wolf with strawberry blonde fur fighting alongside Silas.

"Rachel, what is it?" I heard my Mother ask while consoling Xander.

"It's... It's.." I tried to form words as the tears slipped down my cheeks.

My Mother stood beside me as she gasped and covered her mouth.

"That bastard. How dare he!" she growled, startling Xayden.

"Shh..." I cooed and held my son close as he started to calm down.

"Oh goddess, please let my mate, pack, and the other packs be safe," I silently prayed as we watched the camera feed.

Ace POV

Apollo was fighting off rogues left and right. My Father was fighting beside me while my Mother took down incoming vampires.

"Watch out!" Carlito said as he jumped over us and took down a vampire. I saw a massive wave of warriors coming through the trees as they took down the rogues and vampires.

"Is that all the packs?!" I shouted through the link.

"Yes! That's all our allies, Ace, be proud!" Carlito shouted through the link as he and Julio fought beside each other.

I looked around briefly and saw we were gaining the upper hand as all the Alphas were fighting with us.

"ACE!" my mother shouted in the link as I felt something rambling me on the side.

Apollo shook off the hit and growled at whoever sneak attacked us. The blonde-colored wolf shifted back, and I got a good look at the man before me. I shifted back, and the man smirked at me.

"You must be the Alpha that stole my Luna," he chuckled.

I heard my Mother and Father growl as I held my hand up to stop them. I watched another wolf with strawberry blonde fur approach from the left side as he growled at my Father.

"Who are you?" I asked as the other man eyed me up and down.

"Alpha Silas Cartier of the Red River pack, and you have something that belongs to me!" he shouted, and I chuckled. He stared at me as I growled.

"Rachel is happy with me and our sons."

"She is the Luna of the Blue Eclipse pack, and I will die defending my mate and pack from your likes!" I shouted as Silas growled, and his eyes flashed black.

He shifted into his wolf and charged at me. I smirked and shifted into Apollo.

"Can we kill him now?" Apollo asked, and I chuckled.

"Yes, by all means, let's end this," I said as Apollo jumped up and Silas's wolf slid by.

Silas and Apollo fought back and forth as we dodged his attacks. His first mistake was fighting poorly, trying to go for the easy kill by targeting our neck. His moves were predictable, so avoiding his incoming attacks was easy. Apollo lifted a paw and slashed his claws across Silas's face as his wolf howled in pain.

Apollo was bigger than Silas's wolf, but we were also much quicker with our attacks and dodges. Silas shook his wolf's head and growled as he licked the blood on his lip and got into his fighting stance. Silas came at us full speed but didn't anticipate our forcefield protecting us as he hit the side, and the force knocked him back a few feet. I heard his wolf whimper as he stood back up and ran at me again.

This time, Apollo lowered the forcefield, ducked as Silas flew by, and slashed our claws against his underbelly. He toppled to the ground as blood spurted from his wound and howled in pain. He got up despite his injury and tried again to get a grip on our neck. Apollo scoffed and used the air to knock Silas down on the ground. Silas shifted back, and so did I. His body was bloody and bruised.

I heard a whimper and looked to see my Father with the other wolf's throat in his mouth while my Mother had his hind legs pinned down with her vines. I heard a growl as Silas tried to stand, holding his stomach.

"SHE IS MINE!" he shouted, and I scoffed.

"You're an asshole and didn't deserve her!"

"I hope the moon goddess forgives you, Silas Cartier!" I said as he charged toward me with his claws extended.

Silas POV

I thought fighting this Alpha would be easy. He was bigger and taller than me but moved so quickly. Spike and I were getting our asses handed to us as he wiped the floor with us.

"Come on, Spike, get your head in the game!" I shouted at my wolf as the Alpha put us on our asses again.

Spike growled at me, and I growled back. All we seemed to do was fight each other. Lately, Spike charged at the Alpha and got knocked back by an unseen force, and I knew then the Alpha had used his forcefield to protect himself. I heard Spike whimper as he tried to stand again.

"Goddess damn it, Spike! You are in Alpha wolf!"

"Act like it!" I shouted at him as he growled at me.

"Shut the fuck up, Silas! It's your fault we are in a mess anyway."

"Had you kept your cock in your pants, we would have been with our fated mate instead of dealing with this bullshit!"

"It's all your fault!" he shouted as I growled.

"You are, my wolf, and supposed to be on my side and do as I say!" I yelled at him as he huffed and charged at the Alpha again.

The Alpha didn't have his protection up this time, and Spike flew over him. He ducked and slashed our underbelly with his claws. Spike landed on the ground and whimpered as we felt the pain.

"GET UP!" I yelled and heard Spike growl at me. Spike got up and charged again, only to get knocked down by another unseen force.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" I shouted, and Spike huffed.

"Fuck you, Silas, you deal with him," Spike growled and forced me to shift back as I groaned in pain.

"What the fuck, Spike!" I shouted at him as he blocked me out, and I growled in frustration.

I looked as the Alpha shifted back and got pissed off more. My wolf abandoned me, and I would get Rachel back one way or another.

"SHE IS MINE!" I shouted at the Alpha and charged toward him with my claws extended.

Before I could register what was happening, I felt a strong force knock me in the stomach, and I gasped and coughed. The Alpha punched me in the stomach and jumped in the air, doing a roundhouse kick that hit me square in the jaw as I was knocked back a few feet.

I groaned and held my stomach as I got up again and charged at him. I saw his hand extend out as he froze me in mid-air and grabbed my neck with his extended claws. I gasped for air as he squeezed my neck and tried prying his hand off my throat. He brought my face closer to his.

"This is for Rachel and all the pain you ever caused her," he said as his eyes flashed black, and I felt him rip out my throat.

My eyes widened as I gurgled and coughed, trying to gasp for air, and I felt the blood dripping down my neck. I fell back to the ground as my eyes looked up at the stars, and everything faded.
