The Reckoning of Love Chapter 15
Chapter 15 Warning
Ella was a 25-year-old woman who was beautiful and capable. She usually sported a straight face. Since she had been by the CEO’s side for a long time, she radiated an intimidating vibe too. After the Lamborghini was gone, Celeste looked up the car model on the internet. When she saw the price, she was dumbfounded. I can’t believe the car costs so much money! “Are you trying to attract the CEO’s attention? I suggest you give up right away. Otherwise, you’ll be destroyed,” Ella warned. Celeste was shocked that someone spoke to her all of a sudden. She turned around with her phone in her hand, only to be greeted with Ella’s glare. “Stay away from the CEO.” With that, she strode away. “Who are you to warn me? Mind your own business, will you?” Celeste shouted at the woman. “It’s not like it’s illegal for us to fall in love. Why can’t I get together with him?” I’ve had enough today! I won’t put up with such people again! Ella stopped in her tracks and frowned. It had been a long time since anyone had the guts to speak to her impolitely. Since she was the CEO’s secretary, many people would scramble to butter her up. She turned around with a dark gaze and glared at Celeste, who was walking toward the bus stop. The bus had yet to arrive. Celeste took a look at the information board and realized Lilies Lakes was only four stations away. Hailing a cab was significantly more expensive than taking a bus. Since she had to pay for Tyler’s school fees soon, she had to save as much money as possible. Her phone rang just then. She fished it out and realized Julian was calling. After rolling her eyes, she connected it and asked, “What’s up?” “I’ll send you an address on WhatsApp,” the man said in a deep voice. “Come here right now.” “Why should I go over?” Celeste was furious. The man pretended he didn’t know her in the lobby in the morning, making her look like a fool. Consequently, she was mocked by everyone in the Design Department. Julian ignored her fury and ordered, “If you want to keep your job, come here right away.” His voice didn’t sound threatening. It was as though whether the woman was coming wouldn’t bother him one bit. With that, he hung up the call. Celeste didn’t have a chance to speak again. She didn’t even know where that was. After taking a look, she realized the place was far away, and no bus would take her there. To make sure she wouldn’t offend her husband, she had no choice but to hail a cab. When she arrived at the destination, she realized it was a high-end restaurant. The setting sun and the warm lights inside the place were perfectly matched. Just as she was doubtful and wanted to call the man to confirm the address, the driver, who had picked up Julian outside the company earlier, strode toward her. Harry Woods was a man in his fifties. He was usually clad in casual clothes, and he was a friendly person. “This way please, Miss Kiss.” Julian had told Harry to wait for a woman there. Celeste greeted him with a smile and followed him into the luxurious restaurant before going upstairs. The place was decorated in a vintage style. The spiral wooden staircase was unique, and the railings were full of intricate patterns. Is Julian going to treat me to a meal? When they arrived on the second floor, Harry opened the door for her. “Please go in, Miss Kiss.” “Thanks,” Celeste muttered and entered the private room, only to see Julian seated with his legs crossed beside the table. He was clad in a black suit and appeared at ease. Harry didn’t enter the room as he closed the door for them. Presently, Julian stared fixedly at the woman and examined her. Celeste felt as though she was going through an interview. Since finding out his identity, she had been cautious whenever she was with him. The aroma of food permeated the room. There were over 20 delicate-looking dishes on the table. Celeste and her family members would only enjoy such an ample meal during Christmas. “Have a seat, Mrs. Meister.” The man put on a faint smile as he gaped at her. There seemed to be a hint of gentleness on his face. Celeste’s throat tightened. She felt as though she had stepped into a dangerous place. “Please stop beating around the bush. I’m not used to all of this.” She felt like she was now facing a king.
