Chapter Me and buttons, a big no
BANG.
Stupid morning. Stupid alarm clock. Stupid bed. Stupid floor.
I groaned and rubbed my head with one hand as I pressed the snooze button with my other one.
And yes, I fell from my bed when the alarm clock rang. But it’s not my fault that someone set it and put as a ring tone the sound of a car alarm.
Wait. I don’t remember going to bed last night. I raised my head from the floor and furrowed my eyebrows thinking.
I remember yelling at that bitch, taking my pancakes, arriving at home and leaving them in the kitchen then going into my room and crying my hearts out when-Oh. I must fell asleep on Sharpedon.
My cheeks were burning and I groaned banging my head on the floor. Of course I had to embrass myself in front of him. I hope that I didn’t drool on him. That would make me even more embrassed than I already am. But I feel touched that he came after me and made me feel better, like he cares. It was very sweet for him to tell me all those nice things and hold me like that, and I must say that I enjoyed it a little too much.
Shaking my head, I went to the bathroom and did my business, then dressing in all black since I won’t be going in this mission. Remember when I said that I’m suspended? Yeah, I can’t go in the next 4 missions and this is the fourth one, thank God. It’s horrible to stay back here and watch them fighting and dealing with the situation. I feel useless staying here and staring at a monitor to see how the things are working since ‘I’m not certificate to touch any buttons’. That’s what Sky yelled at me when I was staring at one big and red button that was screaming ‘PRESS ME’. Who would of thought that Sky had the balls to yell at me and smack me when I pressed a blue button shutting down the whole tracking system.
In conclusion, me and any kind of buttons and computers are a very bad combination. I know how to use a computer, but not a hi tech one with tracking systems and other sofisticate things on them.
“Hi, Shadow! Are you ready for another interesting day in the computers room?” Sky asked me very excited as I was walking down the stairs. His eyes were sparking in excitement and this scares me.
I stopped on the last step staring at him. “Is it to late to turn around, go back to my room and sleep?”
He gasped. “Do you like sleeping more then playing with our enemies systems?”
“Yes!” I said in a duh tone and almost bolted back to my room, but he grabbed my wrist and dragged me into the living room.
“But I don’t want to stare at that monitor for 5 hours again. That’s torture and against humanity! I want to sleep, eat, sleep, have fun, sleep, beat people, sleep, drink and sleep. If you love me let my go!!!” I sang the last thing from Gospel sang by Panic! at the disco.
“The computers room it’s not boring.” he mumbled angrily and I sighed exasperated.
“It fucking is when you can’t touch anything and you have to stay steel. I’m wondering why you let me breath in their direction.”
“Last time when you touched something I had to create a new tracking system and a new communication system because you tripped and spilled water on one of the computers and pressed a green button.” he raised his voice at me and glared.
I crossed my arms and started to tap my foot. He has a point here. “The button was blue.”
“AAAAAH. I’m going to install everything and you’ll come after me when you’ll get rid of that attitude. And no food in the computers room.”
“Come on!!! Food was the only thing that was keeping me entertained! You can’t do that to me!” I yelled after him, but he already left.
Someone cleared his throat and when I turned around I saw that Ash, Sharpedon and Aiden were here too.
“Hi.” I awkwardly said and let out a nervous laugh. “I didn’t saw you there...”
Ash scoffed like the notorious pig he is. “We figured.”
“What crawled up in your ass and died there?” I snapped back and he glared at me. You can say that we’re on bad terms.
“Nothing. It’s just that when I see your face, it brings everything bad I have in me.”
“Well, your face makes me gag, but you don’t hear me complaining.” I said with a shrug and he longed at me.
Adrenaline rushed through my veins and I was ready for a good fight, but Aiden grabbed Ash by his collar and dragged him outside. As he did so, I pointed my middle finger at Ash and made a ‘Pew pew’ sound like I shoot him. His face was red as fuck and if he could, he would rip me to shreds.
“What I’m going to do with you?” Sharp sighed and rubbed his temples.
“Nothing because you love me exactly how I am.” I said and used my hands to make a fish face.
He shook his head and rolled his eyes with a smile. “You are something else, Red.”
I grinned at him. “Heard that before, but thank you anyway.”
He smiled back, but his face turned serious. “How are you feeling?”
His question cached me off guard and how his head is slightly tilled to the side making him look like a puppy isn’t helping me neither. No one, EVER, asked me how I’m feeling or if I’m okay. No one.
I licked my lips and scratched my head awkwardly. “Yeah....I’m fine....and thanks for last night. I won’t forget what you did for me and I’m honestly thankful. It was very kind for you.” I said nervously, doing a mental happy dance that I didn’t stutter. I’m not used to express my gratitude to anyone and this is very awkward for me.
He pulled me in a side hug and ruffled my hair. “Your welcome, Red. I couldn’t let my new teacher get all depressed when she has things to learn me. All kind of-” I cut him off by placing my hand over his mouth.
“Please, just don’t finish that sentence. It’s sounds horrible and that won’t-Did you just licked my hand?” I asked glaring at his as his eyes twinkled in amusement and let me tell you, it’s a damn beautiful sight.
“Too bad, Gaze. You can lick me all you want because it’s not bothering me.” I told him with a smirk, but just after I finished talking I understood what I just said.
He took my hand away from his mouth and smirked. “Really? So I can lick you whenever I want, wherever I want?” he asked leaning closer.
I turned scarlet red and shoved him away. “No, you can’t and you fucking know what I wanted to say!”
“Whatever floats your boat, Red, but I know a thing for sure. You’re so damn cute when you blush!!” he pinched my cheeks and I slapped his hands away walking to the exit.
“Fuck you with a spoon, Gaze! You suck an onion and leave poor me alone!”
“Trust me, with those curves you are anything but poor.” I could hear the smirk in his voice as I close the door a little too hard.
I want to slap him so bad, but I also want to hug him and play with his hair because he is so damn cute and do I ever told you how hot he looks in that grey uniform? Smoking hot.
“Body hotter than a summer. I don’t mean to be rude, but I look sorta good on ya!” I sang as I entered the computers room, earning a glare from Sky.
“I’m concentrating here.”
I raised my hands. “Okay. I’ll shut up. I know when I’m not wanted.” I sighed dramatically and dropped myself on a chair and look at the monitor.
In the middle of the room is a big round table where we can see the battle field with red and black dots. The red dots are us and the black ones are the enemies. This smart table can also project a hologram above it with live images from the field, so we can watch the zone and announce the team if something is wrong or if it’s a trap. The whole room is covered in technology from computers to radars and thermometers, but I can’t touch anything.
Unfortunately, the D.A are at the entrance of the forest where H.I.D.E is well, hide. Even if the forest has somewhere between 2 and 4 km, they are too close and if they catch a glimpse of the building, we will have to move everything in another place or fight them. None of them is a good solutions so it’s better to treat the wound when it’s still sore, because we don’t like infections. Red dots were spread at the entrance too, but they were hidden behind the trees or in the trees, this giving us an advantage. Darks aren’t expecting any attack from us since Boltmountain is a Dark zone now and because they don’t know that the main point of our rebellion is here. How much I love the element of surprise.
“Shadow!”
I turned around with my wheeled chair to be smacked in the face with a pair of big headphones with a microphone incorporated.
“Wear them so you can communicate with everyone. In this mission you have the permission to suggest a tactic and any ideas you have.” he said and I was grinning like a little kid looking at his favorite kind of ice cream.
I putted the headphones on and moved closer to the map cracking my knuckles and fingers. Good. The fight will be held mostly in the forest since I’m more than sure that the enemies will try to escape through the forest and I don’t like this. One of them can escape and arrive even here, and send the information to their main center. We need to kill them all and quick because they can call back ups. A big clearing catches my eyes. It’s right between 2 abrupt valleys and the bulb lighten up in my mind.
“So I just talk in this microphone and they hear me?” I asked Sky as he types furiously at his computer.
“On the left headphone you have a little button. Press and they will hear you. After you’re done press it again and they won’t hear you anymore.”
I pressed the button. “Can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear, Red. What do you have for us?”
“At 100 meters east, there’s a clearing where you can allure them. It would be more easier since it’s also placed right between 2 abrupt valleys. They can’t escape and you can clean them easier there.”
“East? But the point is to try to not lead them closer to the building or city then they already are.”
“Yes, but if you fight there, one of them can escape and shit will go down if it finds the building and informs the D.A about it. You can surround them there and kill them all. They can’t run! Air elements can fly above the valleys if you are so afraid that they can escape, but I doubt it. They aren’t even expecting any encounters here.
"It’s risky.” is all he said after a long pause and I sighed.
“Yes, but fighting with them in the forest is more risky. Do you want me to list you everything that could go wrong there? And you know what they say, no risks, no wins.”
“I understand your point, Shadow, but we’re talking about people lifes here and you know that I don’t like modifying the plans of any attacks.”
“And I don’t care what you don’t like. I’m the assigned strategist for this mission, so I made the strategy. Take it or leave it. Do what I say and win or do what the fuck you want and put all those lifes in danger! I don’t understand why are you so worried about this minor thing! Just go with the flow.”
“Fine we’ll do it and if something goes wrong, is you’re fault. And I’m sorry that I’m not you! I can’t just go with the flow and not get worried about everything that can go wrong!”
He just said that? Damn bitch, bad move.
“I suggest you to fuck your own business and trust me, I’m worrying when I go with the flow! Just because I don’t show it this doesn’t mean I’m not! It’s called being the leader, genius! You have to look calm and cool for your mates! If they see you shitting your pants, they will shit their pants too! Now, do your damn business and shut the fuck up.” I pressed the button again and rubbed my face.
“You told him good sis. And don’t listen to him. He’s just worried and stressed.” Sky said as I stared at the map.
The red dots started to move back words, in the direction of the clearing with Darks after them. He did as I told him and sent air elementars above the valleys.
I understand that he’s stressed, but I’m stressed too and he needs someone to make him a little more daring. And he was the one that accepted to learn things for me, and this is the Moonlight way.
The black dots are surrounded by the red dots and soon the black dots dissappear one after another. I laid back on my chair with my arms crossed and a smirk on my face. In less than 15 minutes, all dark spots were gone, only the red ones still intact.
I took the headphones off and placed them on my chair as I seat up. “My job is done here. Now, if you excuse me, I have to punch a bag to death.”
“As long as the bag isn’t a breathing creature, you can go.”
“Trust me, I’d wish that the bag to be alive, but unfortunately it’s not.” I said and walked out of the room with a victorious smirk.
This is the Moonlight way. This is my way and nobody can stop my from taking what’s mine or achieving my task.
Nobody.
