The Reborn Wife Strikes Back ( Gordon Holmes’ )

Chapter 37

Chapter 37

“I was worried that an ordinary gown might not befit Mrs. Holmes‘ status, so I had it custom–made in advance. You wouldn’t find me extravagant for doing this, would you? I said to Gordon slowly.

Gordon looked at me, his gaze seemingly probing.

He replied indifferently, “No, as long as it looks good.”

At that moment, the staff worked together to bring forth the gown.

Its value was so immense that it required eight of them to carry it, hanger and all.

The gown was pure white, adomed with sparkling diamonds all over its hem, featuring a strapless design at the chest and an extremely slim waistline. It was as if it was demanding a slender figure to wear it.

Fortunately, I was thin enough to fit.

“I’m going to try it on, I told Gordon, giving him a playful wink before entering the changing room.

The staff assisted me into the dress, then proceeded to style my hair and adjust my makeup to complement it perfectly.

Half an hour later, I stepped out of the changing room.

Gordon, who previously could hardly wait a moment, had patiently waited for more than 30 minutes this

time.

Standing before the mirror, I saw a reflection of myself, looking as enchanting as a fairy who had

descended to earth.

To be honest, even I was amazed by my own appearance.

The gown’s pristine whiteness enhanced my skin tone to seem utterly flawless.

The gown’s design perfectly outlined my figure, especially the hem’s unique and elegant design, adorned with glittering diamonds. It made it seem as if I was standing amidst a brilliant galaxy.

The effect was breathtaking.

With my height and oval–shaped face, complemented by subtle makeup, delicate features, and a slender neck honed from years of dance practice, my appearance was in no way inferior to any top–tier celebrity.

As I stood admiring my reflection, caught in a moment of self–admiration, Gordon unexpectedly came up

behind me.

His warm palm suddenly rested on my bare shoulder, sending a tingling sensation through me.

“You look truly beautiful.”

Gordon set aside his usual critical demeanor to compliment both the dress and me.

What a rare occurrence.

“I hope I won’t embarrass you in this gown,” I said with a slight smile, gently pushing his hand off my shoulder.

Yet, he placed his hands around my waist, leaning close to my neck, his gaze intently fixed on our reflection.

His closeness sent a thrill through me, rendering me momentarily paralyzed.

Without uttering a word, he simply observed our reflection in the mirror, seemingly captivated by the sight.

He had never really noticed my appearance or deemed me beautiful before.

But at this moment, his expression was one of sheer adoration. It was as if he was on the verge of losing his composure, oblivious to his own reaction

“Mr. Holmes, I never realized your wife was this breathtaking. Not only does she have an incredible figure, but she also carries herself with unparalleled grace.

“You two truly look like a match made in heaven,” the staff praised aptly.

Only then did Gordon seem to snap back to reality, noticing the staff gathered around us.

He released me and quickly drew his VIP bank card, saying to the staff, “The bill, please.”

His smooth gesture to settle the bill was done with an elegant flair. It reaffirmed the charisma that had captivated countless women, all vying for his affection.

The gown was worth about ten million dollars, but he purchased it without sparing the price a thought, intending to settle the remaining balance directly.

Initially, I had planned to pay for it myself, seeing the gown as a reward for stepping into a new phase of my life.
