Chapter 135
Blair POV
The training grounds were filled with warriors and Malcolm's face lit up when he saw us. His eyes twinkled. However, he couldn't miss the mark that was on my neck and Braedon's and soon his face drooped slightly as it came to his attention who I was and he gasped out loud and dropped his head in submission. "King Braedon and Miss Blair," he said gruffly "I was not aware that you were the Alpha King's mate, please forgive my impudence" he apologized, looking a little stricken as he looked between the two of us. I laughed "There is nothing to forgive, I did not want you to know that we were mates, else you might have taken it easy on me" I explained and Braedon merely nodded, tightening his jaw.
He disagreed with my not telling Malcolm I was his mate, but respected the choice I had made, as much as it rankled him. James chortled and clapped the man on the back "Blair has her wolf form now, so you should have her train like that" he said with no amount of glee in his voice.
He looked like a child who had been told that Christmas had come early.
Malcolm looked confused and I just shrugged, not wanting to explain how it had happened. He coughed loudly and then straightened back up"Very well then, if that's the case, let's spar in wolf form," he said casually. Braedon halted him before he could choose somebody for me to spar with "I think that I might spar with my mate today" he announced gravely and James's grin grew even wider, while Malcolm looked concerned. "Do you think that's wise sir?" he asked tentatively "Your wolf is quite strong and may accidentally harm your mates."
I grinned at Malcolm. I welcomed the challenge. Dusk smirked I want to wrestle against his wolf Lucian. He's absolutely gorgeous and I'm smitten with him. I want to feel his body pinned beneath mine and... she trailed off.
I interrupted her before she could continue and turned my attention back to Malcolm "It's perfectly fine Malcolm, I would like to see what my wolf is capable of" I explained, reassuring him and he inhaled sharply and then nodded, looking as though he was fearful of saying anything more.
After all he could hardly go against the Alpha King's mate and future Luna Queen, no matter how much he disagreed with the two of us sparring against each other.
Braedon motioned at everyone and the training ring became empty as they vacated it. We walked inside and Braedon began to remove his clothes, at ease of stripping naked in front of the crowd while I hesitated. He noticed and growled "Everybody turns their backs" ensuring I had my privacy. I quickly divulged myself of my clothes and shifted, Braedon doing the same. While our wolves were similar in color, his wolf was larger in size and a little more frightening in appearance. Dusk gave a purr in my mind and I fought not to roll my eyes. Braedon let out a low growl and everybody turned around, many giving gasps as they saw that I too, possessed an Alpha wolf and that my wolf seemed to be quite large in size in comparison to other Alpha wolves.
I waited. Braedon lunged towards me and I instinctively dodged his attack. Dusk took over my body and I watched in my mind's eye, certain that Braedon's wolf Lucian had done the same to him. Dusk leaped onto his back and rolled him over, causing Lucian to give a low growl, before bounding back to her feet. They clawed at each other, swiping and Lucian's paw connected with Dusk, scratching lightly against our midsection. Dusk gave a low growl and then tackled him, sending him sprawling. It was like playfighting. Neither of them really wanted to hurt each other, but yet it was still majestic and everyone could see the power emanating from them. I was in awe at how graceful both wolves were. Even James's eyes were wide as he observed from afar. It was like a graceful dance as the two wolves continued to fight without harming each other.
I spotted Josie in the crowd, watching intently, a hand to her mouth as though she was frightened. Sierra was watching open-mouthed and fist-pumping the air every time Dusk managed to score a hit against Lucian. I giggled inside my mind at Sierra's antics. Julia was also watching from the background, her face expressionless. Malcolm was fascinated. Other pack members were motionless, their eyes darting between the two wolves, their expressions a mixture of awe, fascination, delight, concentration, and more. Lucian scored another hit, sending Dusk flying backward as she gave a huff of frustration, Lucian smirked in her direction, looking cocky. Damn he's arrogant she whinged at me but he's so damn gorgeous it's hard to get mad at him! she added pensively. She licked her lips, preparing to attack him once more, but it appeared that Lucian was finished fighting his mate. It was clear his heart was not in the fight and he had no desire to harm her, even accidentally. He shifted and Braedon stood there in his human form again, "fight's over" he announced out loud and Dusk sighed, giving back control to me reluctantly.
Braedon shifted back to a wolf form and mind-linked me Fancy a run together? he asked with a twinge of excitement in his voice.
More than anything. I'm certain Dusk would love to run with her mate I answered knowingly. Dusk gave a squeal of delight in the back of my mind as I gave a grin. She was practically vibrating with excitement at the idea of going for a run with her mate. So would Lucian. I'm giving him back control he answered.
As am I I told him, just before relinquishing control back to Dusk and finding myself looking through my eyes, much like a passenger as we stared at each other, both wolves eyeing each other lovingly.
