The Proud Boss Lady.

Chapter 43: 43

"Jess, Freya?" Jackie said surprised to see her twin and her friend back at the mansion when she got home. "Much better now?" Freya asked her.

"Now that you girls are here, I feel better than before. But how did you know I was hospitalised?" she raised a brow.

"I called them," Mase answered.

"Why?" she blurted out.

"You needed their company. Besides, I needed someone to take care of you till we got back from the tour," he told her.

"What tour?" she looked confused.

"Alicia and Kyle, have a tour and I'm going with them as their manager to help boost their career," Mase explained.

"And, I didn't know?" she dragged.

"The day I was about telling you, was the very day I met you passed out on your bed. Besides you were hospitalised, you needed rest. Please let's not drag this." he sighed.

"Fine! have fun on your tour, Mase." she stormed up to her room.

"Jackie, I-I didn't mean it that way, please just hear me out," he called out after her.

"Bye Mase!" she fumed.

"We'd talk to her, just do what you've got to do." Freya convinced as he left the house.

"Jackie?" Jess called as she entered her room. Jackie stood at the window watching Mase back out from the driveway driving off.

"Why are you so worked up?" Freya asked her friend.

"Because we had a great time at the hospital, talking about random this, recalling the good old days, and now he's back to factory settings... work, work, work and more work." she rubbed her head immediately sitting down on her bed.

"You don't need to stress yourself over this Jackie if he's meant for you, he's gonna come get you, if not...you both move on," Freya spoke from experience.

"It's almost been 5 years Freya, how long do I have to wait?" she raised her hands in distress.

"Until he's convinced he likes you back, haven't you learnt a lesson or two from Jess and me?" she inquired.

"I have, but..." she sighed.

"You feel you've waited long enough?" Jess finished her sentence for her.

"That I have," she murmured.

"Give him a few more months, if by then he still hasn't--- but wait if he isn't making any moves, make the move yourself. If he says no, you tried your best after all." her sister advised. "That's not a bad idea at all. As soon as they get back I'm doing just that," she added on determined.

"Good morning, Mrs V," Zayn greeted as he entered the house.

"It's Trudy and good morning to you Zayn." she smiled at him.

"Is Amelia ready?" he asked.

"Sure, she'd be down in a bit." she set a plate of pancakes and a cup of hot chocolate before him.

"Enjoy," she said walking to the kitchen. Zayn began eating his breakfast as he waited for Amelia. It was a Saturday and he had planned a great day ahead for both of them. "Where's my grams?" she asked Zayn as she approached him

"Good Morning to you too, you look gorgeous." he ignored her question and complimented her instead.

"Thank you, so where's she?" she asked again.

"Hi, baby," Trudy pecked her on the cheeks.

"Good morning grams." she side hugged her.

"How was your night?" the elder woman asked.

"It was good, what about yours?" she inquired sitting at the table.

"I had trouble sleeping, my back was hurting," she complained.

"That's because you don't much rest," both Zayn and Amelia said.

"I get bored doing nothing all day, got to get myself busy." She replied.

"I know, but one step at a time. You're all I've got grams. Take care of yourself for me, please." she begged.

"I will, just for you." Trudy smiled.

"Now eat up, Zayn's waiting." she teased walking away.

"What do we have planned for today?" she asked him.

"A whole lot, so eat up and let's start the day." he winked.

Amelia kept ignoring her calls as she ate up.

What did he want from her? she couldn't help but wonder.

"Are you alright?" Zayn asked after noticing her expressions switch from one to another.

"I'm good, let's get going." she carried the tray which contained both her and Zayn's dishes.

"Grams, he can wait. Just lemme do the dishes before I leave." she pouted.

"Nope, no bye-bye." she pushed her out of the kitchen. Amelia grabbed her clutch and phone as she headed outside. Zayn had gone out to wait for her when she cleared the table. "All done?" he inquired.

"Yeah, grams won't let me do the dishes," she complained as he opened her door for her.

Her phone kept buzzing and ringing while Zayn drove. She kept ignoring Cody's calls.

"You sure you're okay?" Zayn asked again.

"Uhuh, I'm good," she replied as she took Lauren's call.

"What's up?" she said.

"I'm supposed to ask you that," Lauren said.

"Why's that?" she arched a brow.

Cody says you've been ignoring his call," she stated

"Yeah, so why did he call you? So you could talk me into picking them?" she urged.

"Yeah, that ain't happening, why's he bugging you? What does he want?" Lauren replied?

"I don't know, but I gotta go. Zayn's got a fun day planned ahead and I can't let him ruin it with his calls," she explained.

"Oooh, like a date?" Lauren probed.

"Call it whatever you want, Lauren. See you. Byeeeeeeee." she dropped the call.

"Sorry about that." she apologised.

"Oh, don't worry. It's fine and we are at our first location," he announced. Amelia was surprised and out of words. She had wanted to come to a place like this for so long. They got out of the car and walked closer, other teenagers were playing around, as well as their family members.

They sat on a cliff that had a beautiful view, and they could admire the waterfall from where they sat.

"You love it?" he asked.

"Yeah, thank you. I've been wanting to come here for so long." she hugged him.000000
