The Prophecy Of The Wolves I - The Beginning

Chapter ~ Chapter Ten ~

Atlas was sitting in his office when Martin walked in. Martin had turned out to be a very obedient second for Atlas. He had ready his army for him and seemed to have spies everywhere. “Boss,” Martin said as he bowed in front of him.

“What is it, Martin?” He questioned as he spun around in his seat to face him.

Martin cleared his throat. “Sir, it’s that old prophecy. It’s started. The wolf has awakened.”

Atlas frowned. “What do you mean she has awakened?” He demanded.

Martin sighed. “The demigod you tricked into taking your place prayed to her father, Apollo. He and Artemis have summoned the wolf and explained everything that is happening. At this very moment, this wolf has begun to build an army to fight against you,” he explained.

Atlas let out a furious growl. “Damn it!” He shouted as he threw one of the small statues on his desk at the wall. “I want her found and brought to me,” he glared at Martin. “You have spies everywhere. Find her.”

Martin nodded and left the office to do as Atlas had commanded.

Atlas sat on his throne as he looked out the window at his growing army. He had been hoping the runt wolf wouldn’t become aware of their destiny, let alone so soon after he had managed to get free from Uranus. So he had to think of a plan, just in case, they couldn’t find her. He had to have a backup plan in case she was able to build up her army the way that he feared she would be able to. Because while he gained allies and supporters through fear and pain, she’d be doing it through compassion and love. She would give them options to fight. She would fight just as hard for them as they would for her, bringing so many more allies to her side.

Liliana and Cayden met their two warriors at the front entrance exactly when they said they would. “Alright, guys. I’m sure Sebastian has told you what’s going on. We’ll only be gone for a few days, but we must move quickly. This young demigod doesn’t have a lot of time, and apparently, we have quite a few stops to make,” Liliana explained as she ran a hand through her hair.

They both nodded in understanding.

They made their way outside to a large SUV and started their journey. It didn’t take them long to get to the house of the son of Hermes. He had only been a couple of states over. Liliana turned in the passenger seat to look at the two warriors in the back. “You two stay here but stay alert. We want this guy on our side, and I’m sure four wolves showing up at his door won’t help with that.”

They gave her a nod as they sat back in their seats.

Liliana and Cayden made their way to his front door. She took a deep breath before knocking on the door. She leaned into Cayden as they waited for someone to answer the door. After a couple of minutes, a young man with blonde hair and bright blue eyes opened the door with a dagger in hand. “Who are you?” He demanded. “What do you want?”

Liliana gave him a reassuring smile. “Hi. We’re sorry to interrupt your day, but we were hoping you could help us,” she said softly.

The demigod frowned as his grip tightened on the dagger in his hand. “Who sent you?” He demanded.

“Artemis sent us,” Liliana said softly. “We’re looking for a son of Hermes that could lead us to Daedalus,” she explained.

The demigod took a minute before nodding and sliding his dagger into a holster at his back. He opened his door wide and stepped to the side. “Come on inside,” he said.

Cayden could tell that he was still being cautious, but no one could blame him.

They went inside, and the son of Hermes led them to a sitting room. “What’s your name?” Liliana asked in a gentle tone as they all sat down together.

“Lucas,” he said as he crossed his arms over his chest. “What’s yours?” He demanded.

Liliana placed a hand over her heart. “I’m Liliana,” she touched Cayden’s shoulder. “This is my beloved mate, Cayden,” she said softly.

Lucas shook his head with a small smile. “Wolves. I should have guessed when you said Artemis sent you.”

Liliana sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. “Please. I know we have no reason to bother you, and I wish we didn’t have to disturb your day, but a young demigod’s life depends on it. I wouldn’t be here otherwise.”

Lucas nodded. “I understand. What do you need me to help you with?” He questioned.

“We need to find Daedalus,” Liliana started. “Jacques said that he knows where Prometheus is and that Prometheus knows where Adrestia is.”

Lucas raised an eyebrow. “That old man still wandering around?” He asked with a smirk.

Liliana giggled. “Yeah. He’s still around. He’s the one who gave me your address.”

Lucas chuckled as he shook his head and leaned back in his seat. “Of course he did. Jacques knew that I would help you. It’s the old prophecy,” he said with a shrug.

Liliana’s smile could light up the room as she sat on the edge of the couch in excitement. “So you’ll help us?” She asked.

Lucas nodded. “Of course. You’re the one who will lead us to victory,” he shrugged. “Plus, you seem sweet. You seem like you care about others.”

That same bright smile stayed stretched on her face. “Thank you so much, Lucas. I promise that we will take care of you and anything that you need,” she said as she bounced in her seat.

Lucas chuckled as he stood up. “Let me grab a few things, and then we can head out.”

Liliana nodded. “Take your time.”

Liliana let out a slight squeal of joy as she turned to Cayden. “This is starting out so well. I’m so excited.”

Cayden chuckled and pulled her onto his lap. It seemed to be his favorite place for her to sit. He caressed her face gently. “I am so proud of you, little dove.”

Liliana smiled and pressed a firm kiss to his lips. Cayden chuckled as he kissed her back. “I don’t know what’s gotten into you, little dove,” he whispered against her lips. “But I am very much enjoying it.”

Liliana blushed as she let out a small giggle. “I think it’s my wolf,” she said softly with her lips against his. “She knows you’re ours, and we haven’t completed the mating process yet. So she’s not happy about it.”

Cayden laughed. “Well, you’re not ready yet, and now we have a lot to take care of before we can relax just a bit.”

Liliana agreed as she caressed his face. She trailed her hands down his neck and to his chest. “Is this how you’ve felt the past two months?” She asked softly.

Cayden chuckled as he gently held her hands in his. “Yes. Every day,” he clicked his tongue and leaned forward to nip at her bottom lip. “And you’re always wearing those sexy little outfits around the house. Not to mention what you wear to bed,” he groaned as his hands traveled over her body.

They were brought out of their little love cocoon by Lucas groaning from the staircase. “Of course. Newly mated wolves are in charge,” he muttered as he stood at the bottom of the stairs.

As she scrambled off Cayden’s lap, Liliana blushed that bright red blush that Cayden always loved to see. “I’m so sorry, Lucas,” she said as she nervously played with her hair.

Lucas waved her off. “I’ve known quite a few wolves. I know that you guys are always ready to make babies or at least practice,” he winked at Liliana, whose blush went from her chest up to her ears. “I also know that you wolves can get down to business within seconds if needed.”

Cayden stood up as he nodded in agreement. “You are correct, Lucas. Granted, we haven’t completed the mating process just yet,” he said, giving Liliana a smoldering look. “But we know when to take care of business,” he pulled Liliana into his arms. “Do you have everything you need?” He asked as Liliana hid her burning red face in his chest.

Lucas nodded with a smile. “There’s just one last thing that I need to grab out of my office,” he said as he walked towards the office.

Cayden leaned down and whispered into Liliana’s ear. “I can not wait until you’re ready,” he bit her earlobe lightly with a low growl. “The things that I am going to do to that sexy little body of yours.”

Liliana let out a breathy moan as she felt her body heating up from his words alone. “Okay. Let’s get going,” Lucas said as he walked into the room. “Daedalus is in Italy. We have quite a way to go.”

Liliana shook her head as she turned around to face Lucas. She pressed her body into Cayden’s with her back to his front as she said. “We won’t make it to Anna in time if we have to drive all the way there. We’d have to fly out to Italy, and who knows where Prometheus is, let alone where Adrestia is. Then Anna is in Africa,” she shook her head again. “It’s too much traveling. We won’t make it,” she nibbled on her lip, as she always did whenever she tried to think of a solution. “However,” she said as an idea popped into her head. “If we had a witch or warlock, we could just have them teleport us to Italy,” she nodded excitedly as the idea fully formed in her mind. “Of course. That’ll save us so much time. Then we should be fine to drive as long as Prometheus and Adrestia are on the same continent.”

“There’s only one problem with that plan,” Lucas said as he set his bag on the couch and put a necklace on. “I don’t know any witches or warlocks,” he said with a frown.

Liliana leaned her head back against Cayden’s chest. “Neither do I,” she mumbled. A sudden smirk appeared on her face. “However, I do know someone who does,” she glanced at the necklace that Lucas put on as she pulled her phone out. “That’s a gorgeous necklace. A little feminine for you but still gorgeous,” she said as she scrolled through the contacts in her phone.

Lucas chuckled. “It was my mother’s. It’s one of my last things of hers, and I don’t want to lose it.”

Liliana gave him a sad smile as she touched her mother’s necklace around her neck. “I understand,” she mumbled before dialing Jacques’ number.

“Hey, little Liliana. Is everything okay?” Jacques asked as he answered the phone.

“Hi, Jacques,” Liliana said happily. “Everything is fine. I kind of got a bit of a problem, though,” she said as she placed her free hand over Cayden’s, wrapped around her waist.

“What is it, little Liliana?” Jacques questioned.

“We need a witch or a warlock to teleport us to Italy,” Liliana said as Cayden nuzzled her neck. “None of us know any, though.”

Jacques chuckled. “Where are you?” He questioned.

“We’re at Lucas’s house. He’s the son of Hermes you gave me the address for,” Liliana explained.

“Alright. Just sit tight for five minutes,” Jacques said before hanging up.

Liliana shrugged as she slipped her phone back into her pocket. “Jacques said to wait here for five minutes.”

Cayden chuckled. “Sounds like Jacques,” he said as he held Liliana close to his body.

They waited for five minutes, simply making small talk with each other until a man popped up in the sitting room. Liliana let out a small yelp before relaxing. “Hi there,” she said with a bright smile.

The man smiled. “Are you Liliana?” He questioned.

Liliana nodded. “Yes, I am,” she gestured to Cayden. “This is my beloved, Cayden,” she pointed to Lucas. “And that’s Lucas.”

He grinned. “I’m Kaine. Jacques sent me. He said that you need help getting to Italy?” He asked.

Liliana nodded. “Yes. We were figuring things out and learned that we wouldn’t be able to make it to Anna in time if we did all this traveling.”

“But if you get me to teleport you to Italy, then you’ll be able to cut out some traveling time,” Kaine said with a wide grin. “That’s brilliant. Who thought of that?”

Cayden smirked. “My little dove did,” he said with pride all over his face.

Kaine chuckled as he looked at her. “Jacques said that you were a smart cookie.”

Liliana blushed as she hid behind her hair. “Jacques is biased,” she muttered.

Kaine laughed at that. “I don’t think so,” he cracked his knuckles. “Is it just you three that I’m teleporting?” He questioned.

Liliana cleared her throat. “We have two other warriors outside in the SUV.”

Kaine nodded. “Let’s go to the SUV, then. I can just teleport the whole SUV there with everyone inside.”

They all went out to the SUV and hopped inside. They had Lucas in the driver’s seat with one of the warriors in the passenger seat. Then the other warrior, Liliana, Cayden, and Kaine, were all sitting in the back. “Alright. You guys may want to close your eyes. Sometimes teleporting can make some people sick,” Kaine said before teleporting them to Italy.

Once they were there, Kaine pulled out a card with his number on it. He handed it to Liliana. “Here we are, little one. Don’t hesitate to call if you need a warlock’s help again.”

Liliana gave him a bright smile as she took the card from him. “Thank you so much. If there’s anything that we can do to repay you for your help, please don’t hesitate to ask.”

Kaine waved her off. “Jacques says that you’re like his daughter. Since I consider him part of my family, that means that you’re family as well,” he smiled warmly at her. “I will do anything for my family,” he said softly.

Liliana’s bright smile never left her face as she reached over and hugged him tightly. “Thank you,” she said as she pulled away from him.

Kaine gave her a slight nod before getting out of the SUV and disappearing.

Liliana sighed. “Alright, Lucas. You’re up. Let’s go.”
