SWNOVELS Chapter 2
I heard a man's voice talking to someone. I was aware that someone was next to me and I slowly opened my eyes. Just enough to look around me. A young man, maybe a couple of years older than me, was talking to someone. His blue eyes looked worried and while he ran his fingers through his hair, he exhaled, dropping to his knees next to me.
"Get Avery...she's awake!" he exclaimed.
I panicked and straightened up in a sitting position and in fear of those strangers moved backwards.
"Girl...watch where you're going. You can't just crawl around and push us with that shield. What's wrong with you?" I heard a girl behind me panicking.
I stopped my movements to look at the situation. If they wanted to kill me, I would be dead by now. Right?
"Put your shield down please and let us help you." the blue-eyed boy said in a calm voice.
"You should hurry, we don't have much time left, we will soon have company, and even your shield won't help you there. Please allow us to help you." said the girl who was standing behind me.
I turned around looking at her in confusion. She was a tall girl with black hair and dark eyes dressed in a black leather jumpsuit that perfectly hugged her slim body.
" Maybe she doesn't understand or hear us." I heard another female voice.
A beautiful girl with fiery red hair stood in front of me and looked at me with pity. I was confused watching them argue with each other as they each tried to overpower the other's voice.
"Girl, you have to remove your shield and come with us, we are running out of time. While you used your powers, enormous energy was released and your location is not only known to us." the black haired girl said to me.
I was confused by everything that was happening around me. Who are these people?And then I noticed a red glow around me and I remembered what happened before I passed out.
"You idiots! Can't you see that you are scaring her with your behavior." I turned at the sound of the voice towards the man who had just entered the warehouse and approached me kneeling in front of me. I've never seen a man who looked like him in my life. He was tall and muscular with brown hair and dark blue eyes. His face looked like the most beautiful picture I've ever seen and his body was sculpted like a Greek God. For a moment, all the noise around me disappeared. I absorbed every movement of his body as if I were watching him in slow motion.
My gaze followed his hands all the way to his shoulders and his face, which was perfection. His lips were moving, obviously saying something. But as if my ears were ringing and I was unable to hear and understand him at all. My gaze met his and at that moment I felt my return to reality. And the sounds around me were heard again.I'm sure he's the most beautiful man I've ever seen. But I'm also sure he must have noticed me watching, judging by the grin on his face.
" I'm Avery." he said with a smile "You don't have to be afraid of us. We came to help you Iris." he said calmly
"How does he know my name?
"He knows your name because you're one of us," continued the red-haired girl.
"What?? How do you know what I was thinking about?!" I asked in shock.
"Iris look you're one of us...we have some special gifts just like you. Let me show you"Avery explained.
I looked into his eyes and tried to figure out what he was trying to tell me. And then I watched him create a small purple cloud with his hands that was a reflection of my face. The cloud that looked like me was smiling and seemed happy. And with one movement, it disappeared. I looked at his expression and studied his eyes.
"It's okay, my love. You can trust me, we won't hurt you." He said quietly as he held out his hand to me.
And as our hands touched, I felt like a breeze passing over my body.
"Really? He came and just said a sentence and she lowered her shield?! While we tried not to be creepy and not to scare her. Girl what the Hell?" the black haired girl said with a laugh.
"This is my sister Ava. She's a little weird and loud, but don't worry, she's here to protect you." Avery explained. "And this is Noah and Jade", he pointed to the blonde guy and the red-haired girl who were holding hands while smiling kindly at me.
Avery was still holding my hand while I got up from the floor and introduced myself. But apparently they already knew who I was, at least Ava interrupted me after my" I'm Iris", continuing to list all the details about me. From my date of birth and on.
"Ava shut up!" Avery said holding his head. "Sorry Iris, she is just excited. But we don't have time for this now. The people who are after you are very dangerous and we have to go to a safe place right away. Jade can you..." but Avery was cut off mid-sentence by Noah.
"They've arrived", Noah exclaimed.
And with a huge slam of the Warehouse door, the same three men who were in my home stood in front of us.I screamed terrified while I held Avery's hand even tighter. I looked into the eyes of the monster that killed my dearest.
Avery stood protectively in front of me.
"Jade open the portal immediately!", he shouted.
And while Jade whispered some strange words, she raised her hands and a strange yellow glow embraced her.
"Do you think you can take her away or hide her from us? Don't be ridiculous! The energy she released was so easy to follow. This is like a reward after all the years of searching", the man I saw in my dreams shouted angrily and awakened unimaginable fear in me.
I finally had a chance to look at my attackers. The darkness that was around them seemed evil. All three looked fearless as they stood tall and strong watching us. Their faces were emotionless, they seemed youthful, but their eyes seemed as if they had seen the worst things for decades. One of them had a huge scar on his face and looked even scarier. All three had dark hair that fit perfectly into their outfit.Like three evil knights of darkness, strong and powerful, they looked at me like a prey.
Noah was standing right next to us, protecting me and Jade. And Ava was standing in a fighting position with a purple glow around her body.
"Get out of the way or we'll have to kill you all." their leader threatened, looking at my protectors.
"Then so be it", Avery told him.
With an evil smile, my nightmare looked at the men who came with him and nodded. "Then let it be so", he repeated with an smile.
The black fog began to rise from the floor and surrounded our attackers, which made them look even more terrible. Their eyes were completely black and their already huge bodies seemed even bigger.
"Avery let's go", Jade shouted. "We can't fight them, We have to get her to safety", she said.
I looked in her direction and saw a huge shimmering circle of rainbow colors surrounded by yellow mist.
" She has a point, we can't risk it", added Noah.
"OK, let's go", shouted Avery.
He wanted us to retreat towards the circle, but the black Fog started towards us at great speed.Avery was surrounded by a purple glow and raised his hand in an apparent attempt to stop the black Mist from reaching us. But as if he didn't have enough power, he was surrounded by blackness and fell to his knees.
Ava tried to help her brother, but the fog wrapped around her body and she froze with a painful scream.
"Avery..Ava!!" Jade screamed in horror.
Noah pulled me back, hoping to help keep the fog from getting to me.
"You can help them",said the voice in me."You just have to order me...Iris!..Order me!Say what you want me to do.Say it!!"
The same voice that I heard since I was a child spoke again in my head.I watched Avery and Ava lose their fight against the Mist.
"Stop it, you'll kill them. Stop....Stop them!!!" I screamed "Stop the fog!"I shouted.
And that was enough for me to feel the enormous power in my body and the incredible force that surrounded me. And then the red glow moved towards the Mist on its own. Like a huge protective wall, it blocked the blackness from touching Avery and Ava. They breathed in sharply as if the Mist had taken all the air from their lungs, and they both turned to me in shock.
"How is that possible!!!", shouted the man with the scar.
"Hurry up this is our chance" Noah said.
And that was enough to call them back to reality. Noah grabbed Ava and started running towards Jade, and Avery grabbed my hand leading me. In front of us, Noah Jade and Ava jumped into the created Portal. And then Avery and I jumped after them.Before our attackers could react, we disappeared in the rainbow colors and the Portal closed behind us. Where are we going?....
