Chapter Chapter Twenty-Two
I woke up feeling tired. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in a bed...in a dark room. The lights were off but light streamed in from the window. I sat up and winced. My head hurt and I felt dizzy. I pushed the pain away and slid out of bed. I was in a red tank top and black gym shorts. My hair felt greasy and knotted. I went into the bathroom and took a long hot shower. Something felt off...like I was forgetting something. I shrugged it off and finished my shower. I changed into a white t-shirt and dark blue denim shorts. I dried my hair and ran my fingers through it. I looked in the mirror and felt weird. I felt...different. I left my bathroom and walked out of my room. Wait...this wasn’t my room though I thought and stopped in the hallway. I’m in the pack house...but why? I shook my head, maybe we had a bonfire thing last night and I just stayed here. Wait...where is everyone? I walked down the main stairs and found an empty living room and kitchen.
“Hello?!” I shouted and winced.
My voice was hoarse and it cracked. I coughed and walked outside. I felt the sun on my skin and smirked. It felt amazing...as if I hadn’t felt it in a long time. I looked around and noticed that there were no cars here either. That’s weird...maybe everyone is at school or something. I shrugged and started walking home. I stayed close to the road, but stayed unseen by passing cars. I made it to my house in an hour. My parent’s car was out front. Maybe they could explain what was going on. I opened the door and walked in. I could hear water running in the kitchen so I shut the door and went in there. My mom was at the sink washing dishes, humming to herself. She looked worn and tired.
“Hey mom, where is everyone?” I asked.
She froze and slowly looked at me. She gasped and her eyes watered. I widened my eyes and looked around.
“What? What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Louie....are...are you really here?” She asked slowly walking over to me.
“Yes...why wouldn’t I be?” I asked.
“Oh, bless the Godess!” She said and hugged me tightly.
I heard her sob.
“Um...mom, what’s going on?” I asked.
“Gordon! Get in here!” She yelled to my dad.
He came down stairs. “What?” He asked then stopped.
“Louie...you...you’re awake...” He said giving me a big hug.
“Yes, I know...can you please tell me what’s going on?” I asked escaping out of his hug.
“What do you mean...do you not remember?” Mom asked me.
“Remember what?” I asked staring at them.
“What’s the last thing you remember Lou?” Dad asked looking concerned.
“I don’t know...coming home from school...talking to Amelia about to party today for Damon and Nate.”
“Oh honey...” Mom said looking sad. “That was four months ago.”
“What?” I asked staring at her. “That’s impossible.”
“Why don’t you sit down sweetheart, we have a lot to tell you.” Dad said.
I sat down at the table and so did they.
“What do you mean it’s been four months?” I asked.
Then they explained to me that the party did happen and I found out they were both my mates and how we were connected to this prophecy thing. I was also mates with a phycotic vampire and when he turned, Damon and I got into a fight and I accidentally killed him. Then I went and stayed with Jared, my vampire mate to learn how to control my abilities. Then something happened and I found out who Jared really was, there was a battle, Jared died and when he did, I was in a coma for a month. I just stared at the table. I felt sick. There was a knock on the door and mom excused herself to answer it.
“Louie is missing.” Someone said urgently.
I recognized the voice and a shiver went down my spine, I felt something stir within me and felt Naula.
What’s going on? Where’s Nate? she asked
Do you remember what happened? I asked her.
Of course, how could I forget. Wait, are you saying you don’t?
I woke up and had no idea, I came home and my parents just told me everything. Wait though, I think Nate is here.
“Actually, Nate, she’s here.” Mom said.
“You mean...she’s awake?”
“Yes...she’s in the kitchen.”
I stood up and stood by my dad.
“Louie?!” Nate asked running into the kitchen. “Thank God you’re awake!” He said stepping towards me.
I back away and stepped behind my dad.
“Nate, I need to talk to you for a moment...in my office.” My dad said stepping towards him.
“But...Louie...”
“I’ll explain, come with me.” He said.
Nate looked at me with concern then hesitantly left with my father. I went and sat outside in the sun on the porch. I could hear birds chirping and the sound of cars going by. A few minutes passed and the front door opened. Nate came onto the porch and sat next to me. I knew my father had explained to him that I hadn’t remembered anything when I woke up.
“How are you feeling?” He asked.
“Good I guess.” I said.“I mean physically except for a slight headache.”
“What about mentally?” He asked.
“Nate I just learned that I have two mates...three, whatever, and that I killed Damon..and my own brother and best friend. That there was a huge battle and Jared died, although his death I’m not really sad about. And to top it all off I was in a coma for a month and I didn’t remember any of it when I woke you...so mentally...” I sighed. “Mentally I’m pretty messed up at the moment.”
“I know something...well someone that can fix that.” He said standing up.
“I really don’t feel like talking to anyone right now Nate...” I said.
“Oh, you’ll want to talk to who I’m taking you too.” He said holding out his hand.
“Fine.” I said and took it.
We went to his car and he helped me in. Then we left my house and headed back to the pack house.
“What are we doing here?” I asked frowning.
The last thing I wanted was to be asked a bunch of question from other pack members.
“It’s a surprise.” He said helping me out of the car.
He lead me inside and stopped at the entrance to the living room. I couldn’t see inside but I knew there were at least four people in there.
“She’s here, but I have to warn you that she doesn’t remember anything.” Nate said. “She woke up thinking today was the party at the lake.”
I heard a low voice, but couldn’t make out what they said. Nate turned to me and nodded. I slowly walked forward into the room, keeping my gaze low. I sighed and looked up.
“But...They said I killed you...” I stuttered.
“You did.” Amelia said stepping forward. “But luckily, Anna was able to bring us all back.”
“Oh my God!” I said and tears started pouring down my cheeks.
Amelia hugged me and let out a few tears. Then Jessie came forward and gave me a huge bear hug. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I had lost them forever. Then last but not least, Damon stepped forward.
“If you don’t remember anything, then I guess I won’t hug you.” He muttered.
“Are you kidding?” I asked staring at him. “I’m so happy you’re alive!” I said hugging him.
He was tense but then relaxed and hugged me back.
“What? I have to die and be brought back to get hug?” Nate asked looking confused.
I smiled and let go of Damon. I hugged Nate and he hugged me back. I let go and saw a woman standing there.
“You probably don’t remember me...I’m Annaliesse.” She said. “And I think I can help you with your memory problem...let me see your hands.”
I walked over to her and held out my hands slowly. She took my hands in hers.
“Close your eyes.” She said.
I closed my eyes and listened as she started chanting something. My whole body felt warm and all of a sudden everything came back. My eyes flew open and she let go.
“Did it work?” Jessie asked
“Yes...” I said still looking at Anna. “I have a question though...What exactly happened when Damon stabbed Jared and I passed out?”
“Your vampire half died.” She said. “Now you can only shift into your wolf form...the vampire half is no longer there.”
“Is that why I slipped into a coma?”
“Yes, your body had to spend time healing itself.”
“Well that explains a lot.” Damon said.
“I’m glad I could help and I’m glad your finally awake, but It’s time for me to go.” She said.
“Goodbye Anna, and thank you...for everything.” I said looking at the others.
“Your welcome.” She said and left.
“So now what?” Jessie asked.
“I don’t know...” I said frowning.
“Why don’t we just go to the lake?” Amelia asked shrugging.
“HaHa no, that’s where all of this started.” Nate said.
“Why not go see a movie then?” Jessie suggested.
“Sure...I’d like that.” I said.
“Let’s go then.” Damon said.
We all headed out and on our way to the car I looked at Nate.
“You know, you still owe me a date.” I said smirking.
“How about tomorrow night?” He asked smiling.
“Its a date.” I said
YEARS LATER
Jessie was now the Alpha and Nate’s and Damon’s pack became one and they split responsibilities amongst themselves. We’re all a bit older. Amelia found her mater in a neighboring pack and moved away, but I still visit her. Jessie also found his mate during a rouge attack and they were happily mated with a son and one on the way. Then threre’s us...Damon, Nate and I...Well lets just say I had twins. Daniel and Diana. Damon and Nate always argue on which is theirs, but I just think that they are both theirs. They still haven’t decided. I found out that Anna even brought back the vampire king and we now hold a treaty with them. Our pack is the biggest, strongest pack in the U.S. and Jessie’s is second. The petrified steak sits in a case in the guys’s office but I never really look at it. So this is it. Everything is going great oh and did I mention I’m pregnant? The pack doctor and I have talked and he thinks its a girl. I’m excited but now the guys are arguing again over who’s she is. Man they will never get over themselves. Sometimes I still think of the day that Jared died and sometimes I wish maybe he was still alive..I know he was evil, but he was still my mate and it hurts to think of him. But I realize that his death was for the best. And now all that’s left is to live out the rest of my life with my beautiful children and my two Alpha mates.
