The Pigeon Pair Saves The Marriage by Janice Gold

Chapter 33

Chapter 33

The bald man left the meeting room proudly.

The members of the project team were also a little dissatisfied with Edith’s boast, but most of them understood and were very displeased about the bald man’s provocation.

Victor patted Edith on the shoulder and said nothing more.

Everyone dispersed, leaving only Gideon and Edith.

Edith was very clear about what she was doing.

“Do you not believe me?”

She pursed her lips and added, “Well, it’s not surprising. After all, I can’t do anything well in your eyes.”

Her words carried some complaint and resentment.

Gideon was stunned, wondering, ‘Did she feel aggrieved?‘

He concealed the coldness in his eyes and said calmly, “The expert spoke harshly, but it made sense. You made a bet rashly. Do you know what consequences you will face?”

If the clay statue couldn’t be restored and the expert panel was offended, the subsequent restoration of the cultural relics would be more difficult.

Edith showed no panic in her eyes. “Of course, I know.

“For the record, those people are unreliable. I suggest you find more professional ones to help you next time. Don’t let them treat you like a fool.”

Edith took the laptop and left.

It was rare for her not to give way today, so she didn’t want to lose the expert in terms of confidence.

Ray was very impressed and found Edith had never been so cool as just now.

Edith’s bet with the expert soon attracted the attention of the industry.

Some people were optimistic about her, while others thought she was too young and ignorant.

People’s opinions couldn’t affect Edith at all as she immersed herself in making the restoration diagram.

She was absorbed in thinking about the restoration diagram on the way to pick up the kids and almost ran into a car that was converging from the main road.

The piercing horn brought Edith back to reality, and she pulled over in shock.

The kindergarten was right in front, and she decided to walk there. It was too dangerous for her to drive absent–mindedly.

Edith waited at the door for a while and saw Jeanne running over happily while holding Ruben’s hand.

“Mommy, you got off work so early today!” Jeanne put her arms around her neck and gave her a big kiss on the face.

Edith’s ear was tickled by Jeanne’s curly hair, and she couldn’t help laughing.

“Did you have a good time in kindergarten today? Is there anything interesting to share with me?”

Jeanne tilted her head and thought for a while. She suddenly clapped her hands and said, “Ruben helped our teacher repair the computer today and got a sticker! He was so cool!”

Only then did Edith notice a small sticker on the collar of Ruben’s school uniform.

Being stared at by Edith and Jeanne, Ruben pressed his lips awkwardly, and his ears turned slightly

red.

He solved the computer virus in a few minutes, and it was a piece of cake for him.

Edith praised profusely, “Wow! Ruben, you’re amazing! If I were as gifted as you, I wouldn’t have to worry about a restoration diagram.”

Ruben looked at her in confusion as if curious about her problem.

Edith lowered her eyes, rubbed his head, and smiled, “It’s okay. Let’s go. I will take you to have a fancy dinner.”

Jeanne was clamoring for dessert, and Edith happened to be available today.

Edith was preoccupied with the restoration diagram even while eating. Seeing she was distracted, the two little guys also put down their forks.

Jeanne asked with concern, “Mommy, what’s wrong with you? You’ve been distracted today, and you

didn’t eat much.”

“It’s just something about work…” Edith sighed depressedly.

“I made a bet with someone today that I need to restore a cultural relic within a month, but I’m stuck at the restoration diagram. There are too many pieces. I tried several pieces and still feel it’s not right, and the modeling effect is not good either.”

Jeanne said, “Let Ruben try it. He is very good at the computer!”

“Well…” Edith looked hesitant, wondering, ‘Can Ruben handle it?‘

Ruben nodded seriously, which meant he could try it.

Edith felt Ruben’s logical thinking ability was higher than that of ordinary people, so she might as well let him give it a try.

After paying the bill and going home, Edith handed all the drawings to Ruben. “Honey, can you piece together a complete diagram from these drawings?”

Ruben turned on the computer without speaking and started to make a model.

His proficiency astonished Edith.

She thought, ‘When did Ruben learn 3D modeling? Didn’t he study stocks and programming before?‘

The process of putting the pieces together was very tedious. Edith didn’t hold much expectation toward a child less than five years old, and she stayed beside Ruben drowsily.

While in the dream, Edith felt someone tugging the corner of her clothes.

“Mommy, Ruben has made it!” Ruben silently pulled Edith’s clothes for a long time, but Edith didn’t respond, so Jeanne came over to remind her.

Edith opened her eyes in a daze, with saliva still on the corners of her mouth.

She hadn’t reacted and said, “What? Made what? What’s wrong with Ruben? Are you okay?”

Ruben twitched his mouth, looking speechless.

Looking at Edith who was still in a daze, Jeanne also didn’t know what to say.

“Mommy, the picture is done!” She sighed helplessly and forced Edith to look at the computer

screen.

The screen displayed a 3D restoration diagram of the clay statue.

Edith exclaimed in disbelief, “Oh my! You really did it!”

She scrolled the mouse back and forth to check the model, which was exactly the restoration diagram she wanted. Even the hair of the clay statue was restored on the model.

“Ruben, you’re awesome!” Jeanne was the first to give a thumbs up in praise.

Ruben took off his glasses, rubbed the sore bridge of his nose, and pressed his lips shyly again.

He felt so good to have a sister who liked to praise him.

“You’re really a big help!” Edith hugged Ruben and kissed him crazily.

Ruben was hugged tightly and could barely breathe, but he couldn’t bear to push her away, so he chose to endure it silently.

However, he didn’t expect Edith to hug him more tightly….

“Help…help…”

Ruben opened his mouth and looked at Jeanne next to him.

Edith was still ravished with joy and didn’t notice anything strange.

Jeanne hurried to help and said anxiously, “Mommy, Ruben can barely breathe. Let him go!”

“Sorry. I’m so sorry…”

Edith quickly put Ruben down and smiled awkwardly, “I was so happy that I couldn’t control my strength…”

Ruben and Jeanne looked at each other and sighed at the same time.

Edith sent the model diagram to her mailbox. “I’m going to work. Go to bed early.”

Ruben did a good job, but there were still some flaws. She would try to correct them tonight so it could put everyone at ease when she went to the laboratory with the restoration diagram tomorrow.

When Edith stared at the computer screen and drew patterns, her cell phone received a notification.

She took a look and saw it was a message from Gideon.

[If you find restoration difficult, I can help you find technicians in this field.]

Edith typed several words and then deleted them, feeling that everything she typed was a bit strange.

She exited the chat box and put her phone on the side.

On the other side, Gideon leaned against the bed and noticed she was typing and then stopped according to the system display. In the end, he received no message, which upset him a lot.

He thought, ‘What does she feel hard to say? Why is she so stubborn?‘
