Chapter 126 - My Fate
Gallo hardened his heart and failed to speak to clear the curiosity of the nobles who have gathered for clarification. However, it didn't end well for him when John in the fit of his rage cast a stern gaze at him.
A stern gaze at Gallo inflicted great pain onto him by causing his blood vessels to burst and thus giving him multiple aneurysms. This is part of witches' abilities that can hurt or torture any vampire without killing the vampire. Witches from Neena's line use this power to disable supernatural beings with accelerated healing and in most cases, Neena herself has used this ability on a mortal to stun the mortal as well. This ability can be activated through a spell, though commonly performed non-verbally, and invoked through the Latin-based term "Ah Sha Lana."
After forcing Gallo to speak, the nobles became remorseful and knelt before the King and pledge allegiance and total submission to her. Queen Bonnie has just proven to them that she is not a blood-thirsty vampire and she doesn't have intentions of feasting on the blood of the good people of Maxis.
The nobles hauled insults on Gallo for killing Bonnie's brother and playing a role in Bonnie's disappearance for years. "What will be his fate?" asked one of the nobles.
"The vampire that turned me is lying with a stake in his heart. The same fate will be his even though it won't kill him but definitely, it will be an unending agony for him."
"With you as our King, you can help us kill the vampires that have not chosen peace."
By saying this, the nobles have concurred to the decrees of the King and wish to see her help them keep their Fortified city safe with her ability and that of John. It's a new dawn for them all.
Lord Ramsey has been stripped of his nobility and is still in the dungeon beside the cell of Rose who he has been humping. On hearing the news and decision of the nobles, he was enraged and started beating against the walls of the dungeon.
"You are stuck here with me," said Rose as she brought her mouth close to the iron door of her cell. "You hauled me into this dungeon and yet the same fate has fallen on you."
"You will never see your master again and as for me, I have a plan."
"If you let me into your plan we have the chances of surviving together and perhaps humping me again."
"So that you can attempt killing me again, huh?"
"If you keep dwelling in the past, you will keep being a prisoner of the past. What has happened has happened, let go and let's work together."
"Very well then but if you attempt stabbing me again, I will kill you."
"So what's your plan?"
...Zeus' Palace...
"Lord Zeus," the herald called out as he makes his way to Zeus' throne. Falling at the foot of the throne, he said, "Lord, the mortal from the world beyond is in Maxis."
"How certain are you about this?"
"I am certain Lord and I stake my life on it."
"Very well then, I will inform Ares and we shall ride to Maxis."
"Am I coming with you, my Lord?"
"Of course you are. Be prepared."
...South Forest...
The king's courtier has been riding on horseback for three days now. It takes five days to get to King Edward II palace from Maxis. He ordered the envoy for a halt and ordered them to pitch their tent for the night. They could hear the spook sound of the forest, the whispering in the leaves. The night has come upon them and they all need to rest.
The courtier's tent is centered with four other tents surrounding him. He rests his tired body on the mat and supports his head with a pillow. Just as he was about to close his eyes, a hand, held his mouth firmly and forcefully shut his mouth for him not to scream.
"I told you I will kill you in your sleep," whispers King Absalom as he brought his dagger close to the courtier's throat.
The courtier struggled to free himself from King Absalom's grip but his grasp was firm on him. Before he could realize it, King Absalom slit his throat.

As he was escaping the tent of the courtier, one of the imperial guards caught a glimpse of King Absalom. The guard unsheathed his sword and yelled, "Intruder! Intruder!" The rest of the imperial guards traveling with the courtier quickly drew out their swords and went for a chase on their foot.
King Absalom was clever enough to position his horse in a smooth route for his escape. Before the guards could run back to get their horses, King Absalom was long gone.
"Check the king's courtier!" the chief guard of the courtier ordered. "We are doomed if anything should happen to him."
After two guards came out from the courtier's tent, the look on their faces said it all even before they could open up to speak.
"Oh no!" yelled the chief guard as he kicked against the rock. "The king will demand our head if we fail to capture King Absalom dead or alive."
...South Forest's Cave...
King Absalom believed he has gotten away from the imperial guards. He finally came to a halt at the South Forest's Cave. He slowly climbs down from his horse and makes his way into the cave bearing a flaming torch.
As he was about entering into the cave, he was pounced at from behind followed by a hard punch on his face. As he tried fighting back, he realizes his attacker is King Que of Belioth whom people believed he killed.
