I was in Alpha Alfred’s office when I got the call from the Supernatural Council.

Walking to the balcony to take the call, I heard Tariq say over the phone, “Thomas, bring her back as soon as possible. The prophecy has started.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, hoping he didn’t mean what I knew he meant.

“The Black Ace just sacrificed three human cities to awaken something. We don’t know what kind of god it is, but it’s very powerful. Most of the powerful members of the inner council felt it awaken from a long slumber. And it’s hungry, very hungry. I’m afraid the prophesied dark times have begun. Bring her back quickly. She has a lot of training to do.”

Hearing the command in his voice, I replied, “Got it.”
