Chapter 5: Others Like Us
The next day Eliza woke up and took a shower, then wore a royal blue high low dress that had gold trimming, a white, sparkly belt, and gold heels, with her hair platinum blonde in a high ponytail. Before grabbing her book bag she texted Evie. This is their conversation:
Snowflake_Friendly: Good morning, E.
Queen_of the_Forest: Morning, so today I want U to meet me by the cherry tree during Free period.
Snowflake_Friendly: Sure, but why?
Queen_of the_Forest: I need to tell U my secret, since I know both of yours.
Snowflake_Friendly: U already know I’m Victoria. What’s the other one?
Queen_of the_Forest: U have ice powers, duh.
Snowflake_Friendly: How did U know?
Queen_of the_Forest: Your snowflake birthmark, your fake platinum hair, the pic U drew in Art class, and how when Amy made U feel uncomfortable it got cold.
Snowflake_Friendly: Oh, well aren’t U very observant. I’ll see U at school. G.T.G.
Then the chat ended and Eliza went downstairs to the kitchen, and grabbed three mangoes and started cutting them. When she was done, she put them into a bowl and using her magic she chilled them to perfection, but behind her was her dad, who saw everything.
“What the hell are you doing?!” he yelled.
“I-I just thought t-t-that I-I-I could use my powers to c-c-cool them since I-I-I have to go t-to school.” she stuttered, too scared to fully say her sentence, then her dad slapped her.
“As long as you’re under my roof you go by my rules, and that means NO USING YOUR FUCKING MAGIC!!!!!” he yelled then slaps her again before the limo pulls up and honks, signalling it’s time for her to go.
“Damn, now go to school, princess.” he said fakely as he pushed her out of the house with her book-bag on and the bowl of mangoes in her hand, crying. When she got in and closed the door she started to eat her mangoes while crying. When she was done, she noticed how the car was already at school, so she left the bowl in the car and got out, then closed the door wiping her tears away. When she got towards the door she saw Evie and Maya waiting for her.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” asked Evie, while hugging Eliza.
“N-n-nothing, I-I’m fine, let’s get to class.” stuttered Eliza while walking to her locker.
“What’s wrong with her?” asked Maya.
“I don’t know.” said Evie as they walked to their lockers, which were just two- three lockers away from Eliza’s. A few minutes past and Roxy comes by, wearing a lavender skater skirt, a light pink, floral crop top, with green and silver sandals, and her long, blonde hair in a ponytail.
“Sorry I’m late, but guess what?” she said.
“What?” asked Maya.
“Victoria is having a Halloween concert, modeling some clothes at a fashion runway, and is going to be staying in New York for 3-6 weeks!” squealed Roxy while holding up her phone.
“What Halloween concert?” thought Eliza, as she checked her/Victoria’s purple and silver phone schedule and saw each of the dates that Roxy had said on it.
“Oh, that’s right. I get to rap with my closest music friend, Adam! We’ll have to catch up.” she thought as she placed it in her reminders list of things “Cool, so see you guys at lunch.” said Maya before leaving as do Eliza, Roxy, and Evie.

Jason’s P.o.v
Victoria is a feisty girl, one I’m determined to get, that’s for sure. I found out that she’s going to be staying for a couple of weeks, so I have a chance to talk to her. I went to class and saw Eliza and Evie along with Roxy, I decided to stroll up to them.

*No P.o.v*
“Hey, Jason.” said Roxy smiling. Eliza was reading a math book while Evie was listening to music through her green diamond headphone set.
“Hey, Roxy, who are your cute friends?” he asked.
“Oh, so glad you asked. Well, this is Evie and Eliza.” she said pointing to Evie then Eliza. Eliza looked up from her book and glared daggers at him. If looks could kill, Jason would be in the depths of Tartarus, deep in the Underworld, joining Cronus and the other Titans deep in eternal slumber. Evie looked up as well and noticed Eliza glaring at him, so she texted her.
Queen_of the_Forest: What’s wrong? What happened?
Snowflake_Friendly: Yesterday, when I getting my stuff, this bitch and his shitty friends decided it would be funny to seduce me, then he smacked my ass!
Queen_of the_Forest: Holy shit! Do you want me to smack him? I’ll smack him and his fucking ass friends.
Snowflake_Friendly: L.O.L!! No, but, I’ll tell U if U don’t.
Queen_of the_Forest: So... U just let them get away with it?
Snowflake_Friendly: Hell no! I was Victoria when they did that, so I beat them up. It was hilariously funny, I wish I video taped it for U.
Queen_of the_Forest: I’m sure it was, too bad I wasn’t there.
The chat continued from there as the two texted each other while smiling.
“What are you guys smiling about?” asked Roxy.
“Yeah, what’s so funny?” asked Jason, while smirking.
“Nothing.” Said Evie and Eliza both blankly before the teacher walked in and started teaching.

As Mrs. Turner was talking I kept feeling like someone was watching me, probably that Jason guy again.
“You’ll be having your first pre-calculus test in two weeks, so study if you want to pass.” she said before class was over, and we made our way out for free period. I put my things into my locker while taking out my sparkly, ice blue iPad and went to the cherry tree where Evie told me to meet her at. When I got there, I saw her sitting under the shade as petals dropped to the green grassy floor.
“Hey, what did you want to talk to me about?” I asked. She then looked around to make sure nobody followed me or her.
“Not here.” She said then in a puff of dark green smoke we were at a black, gold, and dark green mansion.
“Whoa, nice house.” I said as she led me inside.
“Thanks. Mom! Dad! I have a guest!” She yelled, then people, who I presume were her parents came downstairs. Evie told me her mom’s name was Eva, and she had black hair, brown eyes, and sun kissed skin. Her dad’s name was Eric, who had a mix of blonde and brown hair, but more blonde hair, emerald green eyes, and also sun kissed skin as well.
“Mom, Dad, this is....” Said Evie before her mom cut her off.
“Elizabeth Winters, it’s nice to meet you.” Said Aunt Eva.
“Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Queen.” I said.
“Please, call me Aunt Eva, I was friends with your mother, Amber, after all. She was a living flame, literally.” She said, which truth be told made me confused. My mom’s name was Sarah, and she only made friends with people who she thought would be able to help their company in some way, and her only friends were people she went out to clubs or parties with dad. No offense, but Mrs. Queen doesn’t look like the kind of person my Mom or Dad would associate with.
“Um, my mom’s name is Sarah.” I said, still confused as to where she got Amber from. There was a painfully awkward silence for a few minutes before Evie spoke up.
“Um, well, Mom, Dad, I know both of Eliza’s secrets, and I figured since I’ve known my secret longer and have been able to control it that I’d tell her our secret.” Said Evie, which made me even more confused if that was even possible.
“What secret?” I asked. After I asked that, Evie looked to her parents for approval and they nodded, before she then made a red rose wrap my left arm, but it didn’t make me bleed because there were surprisingly no thorns.
“We’re earthbenders. We control the earth and the properties it holds.” Said Evie. I was surprised, and yet totally excited. This could really come in handy, another person with powers to help me with mine is just what I needed.
“Cool! Another magical person! This could really help me since I’ve had magic all my life, yet my parents never allowed me to use it, so I don’t really know how to use it. All I can do is slightly chill things, like a little layer of frost.” I said.
Really? That doesn’t sound like my sister. Knowing her, she would’ve wanted you to embrace it, would’ve taught you numerous tricks.” Said Aunt Eva, completely oblivious to me mentioning that the girl she’s talking about isn’t Sarah, my mom, the only woman I’ve known since birth. Then finally Mr. Queen said something.
“Did you tell her, dear?” He asked, me not sure of whether he was talking to Evie or his wife.
“Oh, right. Okay, Eliza, have you heard of the Queen family?” Asked Evie. I didn’t say anything for a while, since I was trying to rack my useless brain of the family name she mentioned. Then, all the sudden I hear a manly voice talking.
“Why don’t you send her to Earth, maybe she’ll find the Queen family there. That way your sister can help her with her powers.” Said the voice, before I was brought back to reality when someone rang a bell in my ear.
“Um, yeah. But I don’t exactly know or met them.” I said. All three of them suddenly exchanged grins so big that I’m sure the Cheshire Cat himself would be jealous.
“Normally I don’t squeal, but... Welcome home, Cousin!!!” Squealed Evie, while hugging me.
“Well, technically not home, since she doesn’t live here. More like home as in back to the family.” Said Uncle Eric. When she released me, I was still shocked at what she said that all I could do was stutter.
“C-c-cousins, but my m-m-mom would’ve t-told me.” I said.
“Sweetie, who exactly are your parents?” Asked Uncle Eric. I still didn’t understand where this was going, but I told them anyways.
“Sarah and Daniel Winters.” I said.
“Those aren’t your parents, sweetie. Maybe her memories were destroyed.” Said Aunt Eva. My memories destroyed? That doesn’t sound like a possibility, but hey, me meeting other people who have magic powers wasn’t a common possibility either.
“Then, who are my real parents?” I asked.
“Amber and Henry Steel,” said Uncle Eric.
“The king and queen of Tynix.” Finished Aunt Eva. Wait, so my parents are royalty, cool, but what is Tynix?
“Where’s that?” I asked.
“I’m glad you asked.” Said Evie before she took out a blue, gold, and silver flower gem from behind their family portrait and placed it on the wall while then turning it clockwise. As soon as she did a blue door appeared and she opened it revealing a whole city like kingdom and in the distance, on a snowy, white hill was the royal castle.
“This is Tynix.” Said Evie while I watched a light pink skinned girl with hot pink Andy black hair throw a frisbee at a werewolf looking boy.
“That’s Dracula’s daughter, Danielle Fang, and the werewolf is her boyfriend, Chad Wolf, his older sister is my best friend. And I’m sure you’d love Alexa, she’s the daughter of the yeti and her accent is hilarious.” Said Evie, once she caught what it was that I was looking at before she closed the door. This was all so new to, knowing that I could relate to someone about my powers while my parents, I mean adoptive parents, mostly Daniel, abuse me about being different. But this is on a whole new level, even for me.
“I-I didn’t know that there were others like us, let alone monsters.” I said.
“So you’re calling both your parents and yourself a monster?” Asked Uncle Eric. What does he mean by that, I mean I have been called a monster before by Daniel, I wouldn’t call myself a monster.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Your mother was considered the flame queen, while your father was a vampire and had ice powers, and since they’re married, your mother is now a vampire as well.” Said Uncle Eric, further explaining it to me. This still confused me, and I know what you’re thinking, how hard is it to understand what they’re saying, well it’s actually pretty hard if you were in my position, but your not, so deal with it.
“No. I mean maybe. Yes?” I said, still unsure, which only made them laugh.
“Have your fangs come in, yet?” Asked Aunt Eva. Wait what? Fangs?!
“I don’t know.” I said, then I quickly checked my canine teeth only to feel very sharp tips of my teeth, my fangs.
“I guess so.” Said Uncle Eric.
“Well, we better get back to school, free period is almost over.” Said Evie, when she saw that it was almost time to go.
“Bye girls. And Eliza, dear, just know that you can come visit anytime, okay?” Said Aunt Eva, so I took it upon me to start calling her that.
“Okay, Aunt Eva, bye.” I said, before Evie proofed us away and back to school just in time before the bell rang.
