The Overthrown Kingdom: Book 1

Chapter 12: Sophia Amelia Steel

Sophia has dark red hair, crystal blue eyes, and light tanned skin. Sophia is sixteen years old, was born a year after Eliza, but since she’s never gotten to see her she thinks she’s the next heir to the throne of Tynix. Sophia was a mistake, but she doesn’t know that, you see after Queen Amber had Eliza, the royal doctor said that she wouldn’t be able to have another baby girl, or another baby for that matter despite the gender. Yet, a year later Sophia was born, but since the queen knew she couldn’t leave the child to starve and die, she kept it and loved it. As the years went by Sophia grew up from just being a normal, shy girl to a royal snob with no special powers at all, she had powers just not as amazing as almost everyone else that lived in Tynix. And since the queen had Eliza before Sophia that means that the power of immortality went to Eliza and skipped Sophia.

The gift of immortality is something that people in only Tynix can possess, usually sometimes the most powerful gets it, but when you’re in a family like the Steel family, then things tend to take a turn. Sometimes it might skip over a family member like it did with Sophia, and other times it’ll let more than one person have immortality, you can never know. Anyways, back to Sophia. She has powers, but they only consist of the ability to disappear, shatter glass with horrible singing, fly, and by fly I mean to slightly hover over the ground, maybe two to three inches, and the power to not get fat, if you can even call that a power or just plain luck. Her parents tell her that it takes time for her to get her full monster powers when she was little, but besides having immortality skipped over her, she also has no monster powers or features AT ALL.

This gives another reason for most of the citizens of Tynix not to like her. Why have someone on the throne when they don't know the way or understand monsters in both a physical and mental aspect?

Though, there is one thing that our un-gifted princess has her eyes on, and that is The Bracelet of Obsidian; it contains magic from Hell, a.k.a the Underworld, in the eye, plus magic crystals on it as well. She’d seen it one night, when she was sneaking into the Vault of Lost Treasures, it was in a glass case on a podium, shining in the moon’s light, and that’s when she knew she had to have it. And THE most important fact about our beloved Sophia is that she doesn’t take kindly to people who take what she wants, who have what she wants, and when she doesn’t get her evil, wicked ways, she’ll make you wish you were never born.
