The Otherside: Jay McClayn: This Is High School (Book 1)

Chapter 11

I was woken up by Harrison for dinner. We sat at the table and Jason never showed. It was quiet at the dinner table, not much to really talk about. I wondered where Jason was, I figured Harrison didn’t know as well so I didn’t bother asking. When I was done eating I excused myself from the table and went back into my room. I came to the conclusion if I was a shapeshifter, I might as well start learning. I had no clue how to go about it, but I wanted to give it a shot. I was hoping it was as easy as thinking about a shape to shift into. I didn’t know exactly what to shift into so I thought about the first thing that came to mind, a white tiger. I kept thinking and thinking and I shifted, but not into a white tiger. I turned into a little white kitten and my clothes were now a pile on top of me. I nuzzled out of my clothes. “Note to self bring extra clothes when I shift. If I actually shifted into a white tiger my clothes would be in shreds.” I thought to myself and then I tried thinking of my normal self but for some reason I was not changing back . “Crap!” I muttered to myself in frustration on the verge of cussing. I then took a deep breath. “What would Jason do?” I asked to myself in my head trying to calm down. I realized I knew exactly what he would do. I sat down and cleared my head. I shifted back to normal. I heard a knock on the door. My face turned beet red realizing I’m naked. I quickly scrambled and got my clothes back on. “Hold on a called out.” When I got clothes back on, I realized my necklace was still on. I then answered the door; it was Harrison.

“Is everything alright in here?” my face was still beet red.

“Y-yes, I...” Harrison cut in.

“Is Jason in here. He better not be.” He walked in.

“No he is not , I-I was just trying to shift and yeah..” It was so embarrassing trying to explain. “I shifted into a kitten.”

Harrison laughed, “Why did you choose to shift into a cat?”

I sighed “I didn’t mean to, I was going for a white tiger and well... I shifted into a white little kitten.” I could feel the warmth in my face disappearing so I knew my blushing was dying down.

“Oh, well you will get the hang of it.” He patted my head.

“I know.” I looked down then back up.

“Did you need something?” I was curious as to why he was at my door.

“No, I was just checking on you after the talk tonight. Going to be talking to Jason in a little bit too.” I realized what he said.

“Oh yeah! I should go talk to him.” I began to walk out the door when Harrison caught my arm. I quickly turned around and gave him a questioning glance.

“Not you, me.” I felt hurt and I guess it showed.

“He needs me right now. He asked for me.” I shook my arm out of his grasp.

“Are you saying he doesn’t want to talk to me?” Harrison sighed at my question.

“Not right now hon.” He walked up and kissed my forehead. “Get some sleep.” He walked out of my room and shut the door behind him.

I walked to my bed a little stunned. Why does he not want to talked to me? I was hurt and thoughts were running through my mind. I laid down on my bed and began to cry until I slowly passed out.
