The Otherside: Jay McClayn: A Quest For Love (Book 4)

Chapter 19

The next day we all woke up at a decent time, around 9AM to be more exact. We all had breakfast together, and then we all got ready. I went to my room and actually dug into my closet. I pulled out my old black miniskirt and white dress shirt (I put on the miniskirt with black shorts underneath). I put on a white tank top and then put the dress shirt over top and buttoned it up. I then pulled out my old knee high boots and put them on and to finish off the look I grabbed my old duster and put it on. I then grabbed the vial and put it in an inside pocket of my duster coat. I then opened the drawer to the night stand. I grabbed my old family dagger and put it in my black boot for easy reach. Everything was together but my hair. I then went to my dresser and grabbed my headband tiara from on top of it and placed it in my hair and then magically braided my hair. I was ready for a battle.

Right when I finished there was a knock on my door. I opened it, and it was Jason. He had a dress shirt over top a tee shirt and jeans. He had the sleeves rolled up to just above his elbows. Attached at his side was his sword. We were all ready by the looks of it. He pulled me into a hug after I opened the door. I spotted Loveless in the hall; she was wearing a red sleeveless vest and a black ruffled skirt. Her hair was in a ponytail on the right side of her head.

“Are you too getting prepared?” She said as she walked past us.

“We are getting ready.” I said as she continued to her room. I was guessing she wasn’t ready yet.

“Well stop by my room when you two are done with…” she paused. “Well, whatever you are about to do. We do not have much time left” She responded as she went in her room and I was a little confused by what she meant. I looked at the time on my nightstand it was almost noon which helped me with some of my confusion. We have to still eat lunch and then we will have goodbyes because everyone thinks I am going to die.

“Let’s go.” I said breaking up a possible lovey-dovey moment. I pulled away, walked over to her door and knocked on her door. She quickly opened it and pulled me in before Jason got over to us. She quickly began adding random daggers in my inner pockets of my duster. I think she noticed the bottle while doing so but I think she wrote it off.

“It is always good to have extra protection.” I noticed she put on a long black jacket over top her vest and skirt. She must have filled it with daggers as well. Then again that seems to be her fighting style. Daggers and hand on hand...oh and levitation; she has passed it on to me now. “Now let us get food, and say our goodbyes.” We walked towards the door and Jason was right there and confused.

“We are ready to go eat.” I said plainly as if nothing happened.

We went to the kitchen and ate with everyone else. We talked as if we were not going off to a battle and had conversation like we were not going to risk our lives in less than an hour. I don’t think we really wanted to think about it. After lunch, we said quick goodbyes. Loveless opened the portal and we waited there in the other dimension with the dark pink grass, black trees with dark pink leaves and gray sky.
