The Origin Of Gallahon

Chapter The False King

They could see the horizon of Windfall much clearer. They were getting close. Gallahon knew that soon, he will come face-to-face with his destiny of killing King Erloc. They were still pretty far from shore. But something happened then that they did not intend.

“Gali, look! In the water!” Nina had spotted what looked like a shape of a creature in the water. A very large creature. The creature had risen’ its ugly head out of the water. It had a head of a dragon and the body of a snake. The two were frightened of the monster. It lounged at their boat with its big, massive jaw. The two jumped back. The monster missed them, but took a chunk out of the boat. As the creature lounged again, Gallahon took up the sword and gave it one good slash across its face.

The monster risen’ up and shot out water from its mouth like a water hose. Gallahon used his father’s shield to block the water projectile. He then leaped out of the boat with sword in both hands towards the monster. He stabbed the sword into its chest and slide down, spilling its blood and guts into the water. Gallahon had fallen into the sea. Luckily, he was a good swimmer.

“Gali, look!” shouted Nina. They had finally made it to the shores of Windfall. Gallahon had swam in front of the boat.

“Nina, hand me that rope.” Gallahon tied the rope to his waist and pulled the one half boat safely to the shores. As Gallahon stepped onto the sands, he collapsed. Nina leaped out of the boat. Gallahon got up. They were about to be greeted. An elf boy in a white robe and his hair in a ponytail rushed over to them.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“I think so.” Gallahon noticed the scar on his cheek. “If you tell me your name, then I shall give you mine.”

“My name is Trenton. Trenton Elvinwood.” The elf boy said. “I just noticed you fighting off that sea serpent. You’ve got skill.”

“Thank you. I am Gallahon Darkoss, son of Crystal rock. And this is my sister, Nina Darkoss.” Gallahon knew that Trenton was a kind-hearted elf. But by the look of his scar, he knew he was either a fighter or someone who gets into a lot of trouble. Nina noticed something over the horizon at the corner of her eye. She looked. She saw what looked like a man on a raft.

“Gali!” shouted Nina. Gallahon looked. Gallahon couldn’t tell what or who it was, but Trenton could.

“It looks like some guy wearing a mask.”

“It’s Slayer!” Gallahon shouted. “He must’ve followed us. We need to hide.”

“Come on.” said Trenton. “We’ll lose him in the market.” Gallahon and Nina trusted him and followed him into the market. The market was full of people and food carts. A good place to lose someone. After a while, they’ve reached a castle, the same castle Gallahon saw in his dream.

“I know this place....” Nina looked back and saw a shadow of a figure on the ground. She thought the shadow belonged to Slayer.

“Gali, look!” she shouted. Gallahon looked back and saw the shadow floating on the ground.

“Damn. How’d he catch up so quickly?”

“Psst.” said a voice coming from the corner of the building. The voice came from an elf girl with long blonde hair and Aqua-blue eyes.

“Over here.” she said. The three of them had nowhere else to hide so they trusted her. She had helped them into hiding. The corner of the castle which they were hiding behind was gapped between another building that made it a perfect place to hide. The figure had stepped out of his shadow, but it was not Slayer. It was a man suited in armor, carrying a long spear. A second one came after that.

“I could’ve sworn I’ve heard something.” one of them said.

“Must’ve been a cat or something.” replied the other.

“Carry on then.” The two guards left they’re sight. The four teens were relieved that they did not get caught.

“Thanks for your help.” Gallahon said to the elf girl.

“You’re welcome.” she replied. “If those guards caught you on the king’s property, who knows what they’ll do to you.” As she said that, Gallahon knew that inside the castle, was where King Erloc must be.

“I have to get in there.” said he.

“Why?” asked the elf girl.

“I’m going to kill King Erloc. Or at least try. He killed my father and I never got a chance to meet my father.”

“Whoa, slow down.” the elf girl continued. “That’s crazy. Revenge does not solve anything.”

“I know that. But I’m not doing this not just for revenge. I’m also doing this for the good of Windfall. To set this island free from his terrine.” Gallahon went out of hiding. He bumped into someone. Gallahon looked up and saw it was Slayer.

“I found you.” Slayer said as he reached for him and grabbed him by the shirt. Slayer lifted him above the ground. He saw there were three others’.

“Ah. Four helpless souls for the price of one. I guess today’s my lucky day.” Luckily, three of the guards showed up.

“Hey!” he shouted to get Slayer’s attention. “Let him go. These....Trespasser’s are on the king’s property and must stand trail!”

“Fine. You can take those three. But this one’s mine.” As Slayer pulled out his sword, the guard rushed over and gave Slayer a good whack with the end of his spear. Slayer let go of Gallahon. The guard punched Slayer in the stomach with the back end of his spear. The guard than whacked him in the face, knocking Slayer out. The guard than placed his hand on Gallahon’s shoulder.

“You’re coming with us.” The three guards took the four trespassers inside the castle to stand trial before the king himself.

In the great hall, King Erloc sat in the throne of his brother. Next to Erloc’s throne stood his son, Airloc. Airloc had a sinister smile on his face as the guards walked forward with the trespassers. Gallahon looked back at Airloc with a crossed look on his face.

“My lord.” said one of the guards. “These four kids were found trespassing.” King Erloc just sat there.

“Hm.....” thought the king. “What form of punishment would be necessary for such a crime? Should they be tossed in the dungeon? Or should I have them executed? Decisions, decisions....” King Erloc noticed that Gallahon reassembles that of the General he slayed seven years ago. “Ah, you must be the son of General Darkoss.” Gallahon had set himself free from the guard’s grip and reached for his sword. Gallahon had seized the blade at Erloc’s neck.

“And you must be the one who killed him. I have come to avenge his death.”

“That sword!” Erloc shouted. “How did you get his sword!?” Airloc pulled out one of his katana’s and clanged Gallahon’s blade.

“You coward!” shouted Gallahon. “Fight me! I’m not afraid of you!”

“Still your tongue whelp!” King Erloc continued. “Or I’ll cut it out and feed it to the dogs. Airloc. Show our little friend what you’ve learned in the art of combat.”

“Yes father.” Airloc replied. The two of them circled around each other. As Gallahon grabbed his shield, Airloc pulled out another katana. Airloc struck first. Gallahon was quick enough to block it with his shield. Airloc struck again and Gallahon blocked it with his sword. Gallahon clashed and clanged against Airloc’s katana’s. As one of Airloc’s swords clashed onto Gallahon’s shield, Gallahon leaped aside. Gallahon threw down his blade at Airloc, but Airloc blocked his blow with his other sword.

Gallahon tried hard to make an opening in Airloc’s defenses. Airloc kicked him, causing Gallahon to stumble back. Airloc charged at him. He threw down his two katana’s as Gallahon leaped back. Airloc than clanged his swords against Gallahon’s sword. Gallahon knew he had to win this fight. He pushed Airloc’s blades with his sword and kicked him back. As Airloc stumbled back, Gallahon charged. Airloc took one step aside and Gallahon’s blade slide across Airloc’s blade. Airloc seized his blade at Gallahon’s neck.

“That’s enough!” shouted King Erloc. The king walked over to Gallahon. “What makes you think you can beat me if you cannot even beat my son?”

“Why don’t you just fight me yourself if you have the guts.” Gallahon replied. Erloc took his hand and ringed Gallahon by the neck.

“Insolent fool! Even in defeat, you continue to defy me!?” Erloc threw him down on the ground.

“I banish you four to the desert!” Erloc decided. “There, all four of you will wonder the desert until the sands rip the flesh from your bones.” As one of the guards helped Gallahon up, Gallahon took the guardsman’s hand and threw him over his shoulder.

“I am not going anywhere until my mission is complete!” Trenton jumped and flip backwards, behind the guard and kicked him while in the air. Nina elbowed the other guard in the stomach and kicked him in the face. The elf girl slipped out of the guard’s grip and low kicked him, causing him to fall down. Gallahon joined the three others who freed themselves from the guards.

“Fine.” continued Erloc. “It seems that you four won’t give up without a fight. I admire that.” he said with a sinister smile. “You want to fight!? So be it. Guards!” King Erloc shouted for more guardsmen to the great hall.

“You’re a coward Erloc!” said Gallahon. “You hide behind your guardsmen and your own son and still you refuse to fight us yourself!?”

“Silence them!” commanded the king. Gallahon leaped towards one of the guards with sword in hand. The guard blocked it with his spear. Trenton pulled out two katana’s from each side of his waist and leaped towards the other guard. Nina and the elf girl stood back to back cornered by four of the guards. She noticed there was a fountain near where they were standing. She raised up her hands in the air and the water from the fountain magically rose up. She formed the water into an arm and bashed all four guards aside with massive force. Nina was surprised.

“How did you do that?” The elf girl said nothing. Gallahon’s dance with the guard showed the mastery of his sword play. As the guard threw down his spear, Gallahon stepped aside and invaded the spear. Gallahon thrust his blade into his side, between his armor plates. Another guard came up behind him with a sword. Gallahon spun around and blocked it.

As he was fighting the guard, Trenton showed off his mastery of sword play. He kicked the guard in the chest as hard as he could when his guard was down. As the guard stumbled back, he ran towards him and put his foot on his chest. The guard was sandwiched between the wall and Trenton’s foot. He took his katana’s and stab the guard rapidly with both katana’s. Another guard ran towards Trenton. Trenton spun in the air and drop kicked him on impact.

The elf girl ran towards a guard and threw a punch and knocked him out as Nina ran and jump kick another guard. The king was a little surprised at how they were beating his guards up.

“DRACONIANS!” He shouted. These Draconians he summoned were very strong beast-like creatures with the body of a lizard and a head of a dragon. Some carried sword and shield. Others had battle axes. Gallahon and the others were not afraid of these creatures. They showed no fear what so ever.

“Destroy them.” commended the king. One Draconian leaped towards Gallahon with an axe and knocked him down. The creature sat on top of Gallahon, pushing his axe towards Gallahon’s neck as the axe was being blocked by the sword. The others were busy fighting the other Draconians. Gallahon put his feet on the creature’s chest and kicked him off. Gallahon leaped back up and ran towards the creature. As Gallahon threw down his sword, the Draconian blocked it with his axe. Gallahon then spun around and gave the creature a good whack with his shield.

Trenton spun his katana’s, leaving scratches all over the creature’s body. As the creature stumbled back, Trenton threw both his katana’s at the Draconian, killing it instantly. He then pulled out two Elvin daggers. The daggers had curved blades with a form of elvish language in scripted on each blade. As the elf girl was fighting another creature, a guard got up from the floor and came charging her with his spear. The elf girl stepped aside and the guard pierced the Draconian with the spear. She then punched and kicked the guard back down. She than took the spear from the creature’s body and stabbed the downed guard with it.

As the elf girl had the spear, she dashed towards one draconian with the spear and pierced it with the spear. She swung the spear around and the body of the pierced Draconian flew across the room, hitting the other creatures. Nina was cornered by another Draconian. As the creature threw down its sword, she had caught the blade between her hands. She then turned around, grabbing the monster by the arm and threw the Draconian over her shoulder. Now she had its sword in her hand. She stabbed the down creature with it.

As Gallahon and the others were slaying the Draconians, a tall man wearing a dark robe and hood stepped out of the dark into the great hall. He put both his hands in front of his chest. He was summoning what looked like a vortex of some sort. Before the cloaked man was able to release his spell on them, King Erloc interrupted.

“You four fight well. But you lack true power.” Gallahon jumped towards him with his sword. Gallahon managed to make a scar on his cheek. As Gallahon got ready to thrust his blade into Erloc’s chest, the cloaked man released his vortex spell and flung Gallahon and the others into the vortex and warped them somewhere else.

King Erloc put his hand over his scar that Gallahon made. He was relieved that they were out of his sight. He thought to himself.

“Gallahon is more powerful than I thought.”
