The Origin Of Gallahon

Chapter Guardian Of The Tomb

Gallahon, Nina, Aquanna and Trenton continued their way through the hot sands of the desert.

“We’ll never find Tikal in this desert.” Said Trenton

“King Scythe would’ve taken Tikal to his tomb, and that’s where we’re going.”

“But you do not know where King Scythe tomb is, do you Gallahon?”

“No I do not. But I’m going to scourge this desert until I do.” A strange figure was standing on a cliff looking over at the four. The figure’s skin was pitch black with a head of a Jackal. He jumped down and stopped the other four.

“Stop! Do not go any further.” Said the figure.

“Who are you?”

“I am Anubis, god of the dead and keeper of the tomb of King Scythe. And what is your business here strange warriors?”

“We are seeking the tomb.” Anubis stood there looking puzzled.

“I’m afraid I cannot let you pass. It is forbidden.”

“We must get to the tomb.” Trenton spoke. “Our friend was taken there and we need to rescue her.” Anubis sighed.

“Very well. I shall take you there. But let me warn you. In order to get inside the tomb, you must get past the Sphinx. And then you must go through the temple of the seven deadly challenges. The temple is designed to keep the tomb safe from grave robbers. But I can clearly see that you are not interested in riches.” Anubis had finally agreed to lead them to the tomb.

At the tomb of King Scythe, Tikal slowly opened her eyes and found herself chained by the wrists to the wall. “Where am I?” she asked herself. She scanned the room she was in and realized where she was. In front of her was a narrow passage with columns on each side. In fact, the whole room was filled with columns, some of the columns had torches. The walls were in scripted with hieroglyphics and pictures of the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. She turned back to the narrow passage. On the other end of the passage, she saw a figure of a man, standing in the doorway. The figure walked towards her. As the figure walked closer, the light from the flames revealed him. It was King Scythe.

“Ah. I see you’re finally awake…. Dear daughter.” King Scythe said with a grin.

“Why? Why did you kidnap your own daughter?” King Scythe came up to her and placed his thumb and index finger on her chin. “My dear. You’ve grown so much since I last saw you.”

“Don’t touch me!” Tikal yelled out. “It’s because of you, mother killed herself!” King Scythe stood there with a smile.

“Hmmm….” King Scythe stepped away from her. “You think I care about what my wife did to herself!?”

“You’re right. What was I thinking? All you care about is power. As long as you can get your greedy hands on it.”

“I didn’t kidnap you for small talk!” he yelled to her. “I kidnapped you so you can be my sacrifice.”

“Sacrifice!?” She was shocked to hear those words from his mouth.

“Yes. I’m a ghost of my former self. I haven’t eaten. I haven’t slept knowing what I have become. I forgot the taste of food. The taste of water. And yet….” He paused. “I have found a way to regain my human form. The only way I can regain human form, is to sacrifice my bloodline. And since you’re the only one of my bloodline left….”

“…You’re going to sacrifice your own daughter.” she finished his sentence. “Your own flesh and blood.”

“But don’t you see? This is the only way to regain human form.”

“I still don’t understand. Why don’t you just possess my body or something…?”

“Because, if I do that, I will remain a ghost forever inside a host, and I don’t want that. I’d rather do this the hard way. Killing you….”

“Nooooo……” she screamed as King Scythe reached for her.

Back at the desert, Anubis had lead Gallahon and the others to the Sphinx. “HALT!” shouted a voice. They stood there in silence. They had no idea where that voice came from. Suddenly, it became clear to Gallahon. The voice had come from the Sphinx.

“What is your purpose here humans?” asked the Sphinx.

“We have come seeking the tomb of King Scythe.” Gallahon answered.

“If you seek the tomb, you must answer me this riddle.”

“Very well.”

“What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?” Gallahon and the three others stood there puzzled. They have never heard such a riddle before. Anubis gave off a grin as if he already knew the answer to the Sphinx’s riddle. But he’d rather let them figure it out for it was not his riddle to answer. Gallahon pondered. After a few moments, Gallahon finally spoke out.

“I know the answer to your riddle. A man, who crawls on all fours as a baby, walks on two legs as an adult, and finally walks with a cane at old age. Is that the answer?” The Sphinx could not believe that Gallahon had answered the riddle correctly. But something strange happened. The Sphinx was supposed to have destroy itself, but it didn’t. Instead, the Sphinx raised up its paw and threw it down at them. They’ve jumped aside just in time to avoid from being smashed. The Sphinx then let out a fearsome roar. It unleashed itself from the ground. It had stood up on all fours. Gallahon and the others went into hiding.

“I don’t understand…” said Anubis. “…You’ve answered the riddle correctly; it should have let you pass.” Gallahon had armed himself. Gallahon had charged at the Sphinx with sword in hand. The Sphinx let out a mighty roar and pounded the ground with its paw trying to smash Gallahon. But it missed. Gallahon tried to slice its arm, but he couldn’t.

“You can’t hurt it Gallahon…” shouted Anubis. “…It’s made of stone!”

“Well I could have used that info before!” Gallahon shouted back. When the Sphinx opened his mouth to let out yet another roar, Trenton saw something in the Sphinx’s mouth.

“Gallahon! There’s something in the Sphinx’s mouth! I think it’s controlling it!” Trenton rushed over to the Sphinx, and so did Anubis. Aquanna and Nina stayed behind because they knew that there was nothing they could do. As Gallahon and Anubis were busy getting the Sphinx’s attention, Trenton tried to climb up to its mouth. Trenton had climbed up the side of its arm. The Sphinx didn’t know that Trenton was climbing up its arm. When he finally made it to the chin, Trenton had plunged his swords in its chin and held on.

“Gallahon! Try to get it to open its mouth again!”

“Hey Sphinx!” shouted Gallahon. “You’re made out of shit bricks!” That made the Sphinx angry. It opened its mouth. As its mouth was opened, Trenton swung himself and flipped right inside the Sphinx’s mouth, taking his swords with him. As Trenton was inside the Sphinx’s mouth, he walked deep. He then saw what was controlling the stoned creature. The thing that was controlling the Sphinx was in the shape of a shadowy ghost. Trenton realized what the thing was.

“It’s that shape-shifting creature! The same one I saw back in the village.” The shadowy ghost looked at Trenton with its glowing red eyes. Blue flames were surrounding its shadowy body. It had begun to morph itself. It had taken the shape of Trenton himself.

“Nice trick.” said Trenton. The shadowy Trenton armed itself with copies of Trenton’s katana’s. As Trenton charged at it, the shadowy Trenton moved aside with such speed. As it jousted its swords, Trenton quickly blocked the attack. It moved aside again and kicked Trenton, causing him to stumble back.

“This creature, it has incredible speed. I can’t keep up.” he thought to himself. As the shadowy Trenton charged at him, the real Trenton thrust his blades. But the creature hid itself in the ground and came up behind Trenton and kicked his back. Shadowy Trenton jumped towards him with its swords but Trenton stepped aside to avoid being sliced. The two Trenton’s clanged their swords together.

As the shadowy Trenton swung his two blades, Trenton ducked and jumped up when it was clear. He plunged his blades into the roof of the Sphinx’s mouth and kicked the shadowy Trenton. As the two blades plunged in the Sphinx’s mouth, it felt the stab and let out a roar. As the Sphinx opened its mouth, the other’s down below saw what was going on inside. They could not believe what they had witnessed. Two Trenton’s fighting each other. It was hard to tell who was winning.

“Go Trenton?” said Gallahon.

“But which one?” Anubis finished.

As the real Trenton thrust his swords forward, the shadowy Trenton jumped on his blades and drop kicked him in the chin. The power of the kick knocked Trenton back, but not out. As the shadowy Trenton charged at him with its blades, the blades clashed with Trenton’s. Trenton then stepped aside, cutting the shadowy Trenton in half. But it did not do the trick. The shadowy Trenton, after being cut in half, regenerated itself. As Gallahon and Anubis were busy fending off against the Sphinx, the shadowy Trenton morphed into something new. It formed itself into a beautiful elf woman. One that Trenton had never seen before. It was trying to seduce him, making him lower his defenses.

The creature’s plan looked like it was going to work for a second, but Trenton charged straight at it. A weapon quickly appeared into the creature’s hands and blocked the incoming attack. The weapon was a Naginata. A long staff with a blade on the end of it, kind of like a spear.

“This thing isn’t giving up. But nether am I. But how do I kill it?” Trenton thought to himself. Trenton clashed his katana’s with the creature’s Naginata. No matter what attack the creature threw at Trenton, Trenton gave it his all to fend off his attacks. As the creature threw down his Naginata, Trenton blocked it with his katana’s. As the creature tried hard to cut Trenton’s head, he pushed against the creature’s weapon. Trenton stepped aside, causing the creature to fall. Trenton swooped around the back side of the creature and threw down his sword, cutting the creature in half again. The creature had enough for now. The shadow had left the Sphinx. As it did, the Sphinx stopped moving. But a rumbling was starting to happen. The Sphinx was starting to collapse.

“Trenton, get out of there!” Gallahon shouted. Trenton ran towards the edge of its mouth and leaped off. The jump was high, but Trenton found a way to land on the sandy floor safely. The crash of the Sphinx created a very large cloud of sand when it hit the ground. Gallahon, Trenton and the others covered themselves to withstand the impact of the cloud of sand. As soon as it was clear, Anubis led on.

“Come on. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover before we make it to the tomb. We pass the Sphinx. Now we need to get pass the temple of the seven deadly challenge’s alive in hope’s to save your friend.” With that said, Gallahon and the others followed.
