Chapter 99
Chapter 99
Julian followed Alexandra’s gaze, looked outside, and said, “It belongs to Carson Walters. Carson has millions of ideas in his brain and wants to make money in all industries.”
“Wow! I want to take a look inside!” said Alexandra. She looked at that white circular building, thinking. “It must be fun inside.”
Julian smiled and said, “When your foot recovers, we can hang out there.”
Alexandra turned around to look at Julian excitedly and asked, “Really? Are you a man of your word, Mr. Ranford?”
“Yeah. I’ll keep my word,” replied Julian,
When Julian and Alexandra returned to the Tropical Lagoon Residences, Josephine was still sleeping.
Julian and Alexandra felt lucky. Josephine must be anxious if she woke up and discovered no one was home.
Julian asked Alexandra to sit down to rest. Then he went to change his clothes and walked to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Josephine had been staying here recently, so fresh groceries were delivered from the Ranford Mansion every morning.
Julian walked to the kitchen and discovered the fridge was almost full.
Julian found some vegetables. He decided to make spaghetti and several dishes tonight
Alexandra sat alone on the sofa, gently rubbing her slightly red ankle. From time to time, Alexandra looked at the figure in the open kitchen.
As she watched, Alexandra fell into a sense of loss for no reason.
Josephine woke up. She pushed the door open and walked downstairs.
When Josephine saw Alexandra sitting in the living room, she walked down with a smile.
Alexandra noticed Josephine and raised her head to greet Josephine, “Grandma, how’s your nap?”
When Josephine passed by the living room, she glanced at the kitchen and noticed Julian was busy in the kitchen.
Josephine thought, “I had never seen Julian get off work so early when I lived in the Ranford Mansion, What’s more, Julian is cooking in the kitchen.
*This couple lives in the house. It doesn’t have the vibrancy that Ranford Mansion has. However, compared with the Ranford Mansion, it is more like a
home.”
Thinking of the difficulties Julian had suffered since he was young and everything Julian had done for the Ranford family, Josephine had mixed feelings.
Josephine liked Alexandra more because of Julian’s changes.
Josephine thought, “Alexandra influences and changes Julian,
“She let Julian slow down, take rest, and live a passionate life.”
Thinking of this, Josephine’s heart warmed even more.
At first, Josephine was worried that Alexandra, who came from the countryside, would cause chaos in the Ranford family.
However, Josephine did not expect everything Alexandra had brought. Alexandra did not cause any trouble for the Ranford family. Instead, Alexandra earned Julian and Josephine’s likes because of her sensible and cheerful characteristics.
Alexandra was different from those socialites. Although Alexandra was not as knowledgeable as them and was not proficient in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, Alexandra’s innocence and kindness were her unique charms.
Knowledge and talent could only make a person more dazzling.
However, good qualities and personalities could allow a person to be truly loved by others.
Alexandra was the latter.
“Julian, why are you back so early today?” Josephine asked casually as she sat down on the sofa.
Alexandra was nervous suddenly, thinking, “I can’t let grandma know that I took a cab to the Ranford Tower alone this afternoon. I can’t tell grandma that Julian was attacked in the company today”
Therefore, Alexandra smiled and said, “Grandma, Julian isn’t busy with work today, so come home early to cook for us! Haha!”
Josephine also smiled. She looked at Alexandra’s beautiful face and said, “Grandma lives a better life because of my granddaughter–in–law!”
Alexandra was embarrassed and said, “Grandma, what are you talking about? It sounded like you’ve never seen Julian cook before!”
“Well, I’ve never seen it before. I didn’t even know Julian could cook.” Josephine only told the half–truth. That was because Josephine wanted to say something nice about Julian in front of Alexandra.
Alexandra felt that Josephine was teasing her. Thus, Alexandra pouted and said, “Grandma, I see. You think I’m too clumsy to cook.”

Josephine chuckled and said, “It’s enough for one of a couple to know how to cook, You are not going to open a restaurant!”
Alexandra snorted and pitched to Josephine.
Josephine smiled. Then Josephine’s gaze seemed to suddenly become gentle. She said, “Julian’s grandpa is also a man who cooks well. I didn’t like to cook since I was young. I only liked to read, paint, and listen to music. After I married him, he often cooked for me.”
Alexandra noticed Josephine’s gaze was very gentle at this moment. It seemed Josephine recalled some old memories.
Hearing Josephine recall her husband, Alexandra felt sweet and sad.
Alexandra thought, “Grandma is at such an old age. I did not expect her to still have so many beautiful memories hidden in her heart. Those memories are so wonderful that they won’t fade out as time goes by.”
“Grandma,” said Alexandra. She held Josephine’s hand and said, “Grandpa used to cook for you. Now your grandson is cooking for you! When I learn how to cook, I’ll cook for you too!”
“Alex, you’re such a sweet talker!” said Josephine.
Josephine’s heart ached as she recalled her husband, who had left her for over 20 years. Josephine suddenly felt upset.
Josephine thought, “I had rarely mentioned memories with my husband to other people these years.
“I can’t believe I told Alexandra what was on my mind today.
“Forget about it. Forget about it.”
It was a little embarrassing. However, Josephine did not think much of it.
Alexandra could tell Josephine was probably in a mixture of sad memories and shyness. Alexandra smiled and shook Josephine’s hand as if Alexandra was coaxing a kid, comforting, “Grandma, you still have Julian. You still have me! Grandpa is watching you from the sky. He’ll be very happy to know you have so many children and grandchildren by your side! Grandma, if you leave the world first, you definitely don’t want grandpa to live alone in this world, right?”
Josephine lowered her head in silence with a faint smile on her face.
Alexandra moved closer to Josephine, tilted her head, and continued, “The Ranford family still needs you! Julian needs you too. I need you, too. When Julian and I have a baby, our baby will also need you!”
Alexandra swore to God, “I only say that to make grandma happy. I have no other intentions.”
Coincidentally, when Alexandra said this, Julian walked over and heard it.
Although Julian didn’t know what had happened and why Alexandra said so, he knew Alexandra was trying to make Josephine happy.
Even though Julian knew Alexandra did not mean it, he was overjoyed when he heard Alexandra say that she would have a baby with him.
It seemed Julian was looking forward to having a baby with Alexandra.
“Grams, what are you talking about?” Julian asked knowingly.
Hearing Julian’s voice, Alexandra turned her head quickly. Then her face turned red to her ears!
Alexandra thought, “Julian didn’t hear it, did he?”
Alexandra was so focused on comforting Josephine that she did not notice Julian coming out of the kitchen!
Alexandra blinked, trying to explain that she did not really mean it with her eyes.
However, Julian deliberately did not look at Alexandra. Instead, Julian looked at Josephine.
Josephine chuckled and no longer thought about the painful memories. Josephine said to Julian, “Alex tells me that I can help you to take care of your baby when you have one in the future.”
Alexandra turned around and looked at the kind and benevolent Josephine in disbelief.
Alexandra shouted inside, “I didn’t say that just now!
“Grandma is lying!”
