The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Mount Victoria Hospital was the largest private hospital in Highclere City, The Ranford family had invested in it as well.

Philip had been receiving treatment in this hospital for the past few years.

Julian chartered all VIP suites on the same floor and arranged for bodyguards to guard the area day and night.

No outsiders were allowed to approach the area.

When Julian took the elevator to the VIP floor, four well-dressed bodyguards stood straight at the entrance.

Seeing Julian, a man with a beard came forward and reported respectfully, “Sir. today at noon, Mrs. Josephine and Mrs. Caroline came here”

“Got it. Thank you.” Julian dropped the sentence a and walked towards the ward without pause.

The corridor was brightly lit and fully covered by surveillance cameras.

Julian stopped his pace at the door of the intensive care unit.

Seeing his dad’s attending doctor Derek Sloane inside, Julian knocked gently on the door.

And he walked lightly into the ward to examine Philip, who had been in a coma for three years. The heart monitor was playing a familiar ticking sound.

Philip was muzzled with an oxygen mask, and both his arms had long been left with countless needle holes after the long- lasting treatment.

Philip had relied on nutritional fluids to support his life over the past few years. His angular face looked pale, and his hair turned much grayer.

Julian had spent heavily on inviting Dr. Sloane, the celebrated doctor in his sixties, to quit his job in Aurtovia City and treat Philip. But for Dr. Sloane’s high responsibility and masterly skill, Philip would not have been rescued from the jaws of death these years.

But Philip was now a dying man.

“How is my dad going, Dr. Sloane?”

Dr. Sloane turned a little to avoid Julian’s gaze, finding it hard to tell Julian that Philip’s health was failing rapidly.

“It’s OK. Just tell me the truth.” Julian’s voice was slightly hoarse, indicating his busy day.

Dr. Sloane hesitantly said, “His brain waves have been getting slower recently. If it continues, I’m afraid it will develop into brain death. Then… we will have no way to save him.”

Julian paused slightly and answered calmly, “Understood, Dr. Sloane. Thank you for your hard work. Please try to keep my dad alive before I find the famous doctor Ace Fulton.”

Dr. Sloane nodded but then shook his head and said, faltering, “Mr. Ranford, although I once recommended Dr. Fulton to you, he has disappeared from the scene for so long… Since no one hears from such a proficient doctor who always devotes. himself to saving others, I’m afraid that…..”

Marco, next to Julian, blurted out angrily, “Dr. Sloane, do you mean that Dr. Fulton is gone? How could you infer that after saying he is the only hope to save Mr. Philip Ranford’s life?”

“Marco, please, Julian spoke in a steely tone to stop Marco’s grumble, sounding us if he had been prepared for Dr. Sloane’s inference. And then, Julian turned to Dr. Sloane and said, “Maybe Dr. Fulton has some difficulty we do not know about. Dr. Sloane, didn’t you also say Dr. Fulton has several outstanding disciples?”

06:53 Wed,

“Even if Dr. Fulton has passed away, I can ask his disciples for help.

“I will never give up.” Julian muttered in his mind.

It was the next day. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Alexandra was taking a nap alone in the hotel room after having lunch and watching a movie.

At this time, she slept in until the sun went down.

Finally, she was woken up by a call.”

Annoyed at being woken up. Alexandra groaned to answer the phone with her eyes closed, “Hello?”

Sensing the impatience in Alexandra’s voice, Julian, sitting in the back seat of the car, frowned unconsciously and wondere silently, “I did not mean to provoke her, right?”

“Alexandra.”

Who is it? Oh, my God! It’s Mr. Ranford!” Alexandra’s brain was mush as she heard Julian’s deep voice.

She threw back the covers, scrambled out of bed, and ran her hands through her messy hair.

After a while, she returned to her senses and realized that Julian was calling her rather than appearing in front of her.

“You are bound to dine at Ranford Mansion tonight.”

“Yes, yes, I remember it. I will dress myself up and rush there.”

As Alexandra spluttered, she tumed to look outside of the window.

“Oh. God! The sun almost goes down!” Alexandra roared silently.

Hearing the loud sound coming from the other side of the line, Julian could picture Alexandra’s flustered look.

Strangely, he felt his heart flutter down his chest.

“OK. Take your time. See you

later.

“Yes, sir!” Alexandra answered respectfully, sighed a breath of relief, and hung up the phone.

After a while, Marco entered the hotel with two paper bags featuring luxury brands.

Inside were the gown and heels bought by Julian for Alexandra.

Although Julian didn’t love Alexandra, he knew clearly that Alexandra didn’t have much money for luxury goods. And she wouldn’t think of spending heavily on expensive clothes, either.

Moreover, Alexandra didn’t get along well with her dad, so he would probably not purchase luxury for Alexandra.

Marco strode into the hotel while sending a WhatsApp voice message. [Bro, breaking news! Mr. Ranford spent 400 thousan today on a set of clothes, a gown! I am now about to go to deliver the gift. Ahem…]

He then removed his finger from the microphone. The voice message was automatically sent.

Marco then marched over to the reception and asked the staff to deliver the bags to Alexendra.

The receptionist gave the bags some glances and took them with a curious and envious look.

As soon as he strode out of the hotel, Marco received a new message.

He opened the phone. The message said, [Who is the lady?]

[Treat me to a meal, and I will tell you.]

[Screw you.]

Marco then sent an emoji named ‘rolling on the floor laughing”

But the other party didn’t reply to Marco.

When the doorbell rang, Alexandra was staring at a pile of clothes on her bed, not knowing which one to choose so as not to embarrass Julian,

But she had no idea at all. All of them were bargains or bought online during a buy-one-get-one-free sale.

She was not afraid of giving her dad, Peter Doherty, shame.

But she was worried about losing Julian’s face.

After all, Julian treated her politely and kindly,

He had offered her 240 thousand dollars per month and promised to find Ace Fulton for her.

As Alexandra considered buying an elegant dress, the doorbell rang.

Pouting, Alexandra swirled around to answer the door.

With a bright smile, the receptionist stood in front of the door, holding several paper bags in her arms and greeting Alexandra. “Hello, Ms. Doherty. A gentleman said he was your friend and asked me to deliver these up to you.”

Alexandra glanced at the clothes revealed from the bag and figured out what was going on.

Except for Julian, no one would give her the godsend at this time.

Alexandra politely thanked the receptionist and returned to the room with the bags in her arms.

Rather than being glitzy, the beige dress was elegant and lovely. There was also a pair of dark green two-inch heels. Alexandra tried the heels and found the height suitable.

Together with the dress was a small blue jewelry box.

Inside was a set of silver-plated jewelry.

It looked simple but was in adorable shape.

Alexandra tried the carrings on and smiled in satisfaction.

She knew that all these items cost much.

And she understood that Julian bought her these luxuries for he knew she had no suitable clothes.

She picked up her phone and found Julian’s phone number. Worried that giving Julian a call would bother him, she edited: text message. [Thanks, clothes received.]

Marco, who had received the message, pretended to be Julian and returned a message. [You are welcome.]

Located near Regent Place, Ranford Mansion covered a vast area and was once rated as one of the best mansions in Highdere City.
