Chapter 59

Carson answered, “There’s no need for that. Thank you, miss. The driver has already sent her home”

“Alright. Emery is getting better and better at playing the piano. She will probably have a chance to perform on stage at the next welcoming party,” Kelly

said.

Carson smiled slightly. “As long as she likes it.”

Kelly nodded. “Mr. Walters, why don’t you go for a rest? The party is about to begin. I’ll familiarize myself with the score.”

Carson nodded slightly and walked toward the lounge.

Just as he took a step, Kelly added, “Mr. Carson, my name is Kelly Gilligan.”

Carson stopped his steps. He turned around and nodded politely at her. Then, he pushed open the door of the VIP lounge and entered.

As soon as he left, Kelly covered her chest, where her heart was racing.

She had never been so nervous when talking to a man. “I didn’t show any fear just now, did I?”

Just as she was thinking about it, Martha hurried over with a bag on her back. Seeing Kelly standing in the corridor dazedly, she approached her and asked. “Kelly, what are you doing here?”

Kelly took a deep breath and said to Martha, “It’s nothing. I just suddenly know what it feels like to love someone. I think I understand how you feel when you have a crush on William Jolston.”

At the mention of William, Martha revealed disdain and unwillingness.

A ruthless glint flashed across her eyes.

She smiled and said, “Who has our princess taken a fancy to?”

Kelly smiled coquettishly, Tm not telling you.”

Finishing, she ran off.

Martha looked around. Seeing that there was no one in the corridor, she walked to the door of the storage room diagonally opposite and pushed the door open.

In the VIP lounge.

As soon as Carson entered, Julian, who was drinking tea, teased, “I think Mrs.. Walters is worrying for nothing. Wherever you are, there will be rich young ladies chasing after you.”

Marco chimed in. “That’s right, Mr. Walters. That young lady just now almost wrote her love for you on her face.”

Carson didn’t want to answer them. He took a long step and sat on the sofa. “Yes, I’m not as good as Mr. Ranford in refusing love affairs. Who can compare to the famous Mr. Ranford? You made your reputation so bad that even the tramps on the street don’t want to marry their daughters to you.”

Marco rolled his eyes and roared in his heart. “That’s because you don’t know that our Mr. Ranford is already married, okay?”

“And his wife is the adorable little muddle–headed Alexandra Doherty!”

Julian was not angry. He continued to drink his tea slowly. “Why? is it a good thing that the tramps on the street want to marry their daughters to me?”

Carson glanced at him and suddenly asked, “Mr. Ranford, you’re not yourself today. You’ve never attended any parties at the University of Highclere. Why? Is the moon rounder tonight?”

Marco glanced at Julian

Chapter 59

Julian recalled the scene of Alexandra deliberately pretending not to know him. He said casually, “I just want to see the future of our country”

Marco almost burst out laughing.

He said inwardly. “Mr. Ranford, can you stop lying to yourself?

“You clearly wanted to see the Mrs. Ranford. Admit it!”

Carson felt that there was something wrong with Julian today. No, something had been wrong since Julian came to his house last Friday.

He said, “Mr. McFadden must want you to come and admire the future of our country. The infrastructure of our country still depends on you. How about donating another building some other day?”

After a while, a staff member knocked on the door and invited them to the assembly hall.

The welcoming party was about to begin.

They stood up and left.

Just as they turned a corner, Julian’s phone rang.

It was a call from Frank.

Carson and Marco left first.

Julian finished the call and was about to enter the hall.

He happened to see a familiar figure coming out of a room diagonally opposite him. It was the girl who had been smashed with a cake by Alexandra on the day of the opening ceremony..

Due to the angle, Martha did not see Julian.

However, Julian noticed that she was a little sneaky as if she was guarding against anyone.

A sense of disgust surged in his heart for no reason. He put away his phone and walked into the entrance of the VIP seats.

The VIP seats were set in the first row in the middle of the assembly hall,

The seats of the students with programs were on the right side of the VIP seats.

Under the guidance of the staff, Julian took a seat and casually glanced at the messy venue. Coincidentally, he saw Alexandra, who was sitting in the third row on the right, talking to a boy.

A sweet smile appeared on her face.

Then the boy in the white shirt left his seat and walked to the center of the stage.

Oh, the boy who worked asá part–time waiter at the Walters family’s opening ceremony.

Was the name Joston or something?

Julian glanced at Alexandra again. She was nestled in her seat, texting someone. The screen of her phone illuminated her face.

Immediately after, the annual welcoming party of the University of Highclere began.,

As an influential figure in the Department of Mathematics and Science, William’s appearance on stage caused all the girls to scream.

Julian turned to look at Alexandra, only to see her focused on the stage.

“What are you looking at?” Carson realized that Julian had already looked to the side more than twice and also looked over.

Julian straightened his back. “My neck is a little uncomfortable.”

Carson looked at the seats beside him suspiciously, but he didn’t find anything.

After a short and exciting opening speech, the two hosts left. Then, Mr. McFadden made a weldshing speech to the first–year students.

After the speech, it was time for the welcoming party.

Alexandra loved to watch the show. As soon as the program started, she focused her attention on it.

Julian was not interested in these programs at all and regretted coming here to suffer in the middle of the programs.

Perhaps…

Perhaps he was here so that Alexandra would not be so nervous when she went on stage to present the award?

He wondered. “Would she feel better knowing I was watching her down there?”

Fortunately, time passed quickly as he read the news and dealt with his emails on his phone.

Alexandra slipped away from her seat on the third to last performance because William’s magic trick was about to begin. She had to put on her costume

first.

After a round of enthusiastic applause, the female host smiled and said, “Next, let’s welcome William Jolston, the talent from the Department of Mathematics and Science, to bring us a magic show, Awakening.”

Immediately, thunderous applause rang out again,

The female host continued, “Speaking of this magic trick, everyone will definitely be looking forward to it. This is because the one working with William is our new student, Alexandra Doherty…”

Julian’s fingers paused, and he looked up.

He thought, “Alexandra?

“Didn’t she say that she was afraid of public occasions?

“She even complained to me last night.

“Why did she suddenly go on stage to perform magic tricks?”

Julian was a little angry.

She was actually performing magic with William Jolston.

The one who seemed to be interested in Alexandra.

Carson smiled and said, “Interesting. Alexandra has become famous so quickly.”

Julian said nothing

With a straight face, he put away his phone.

At this moment, Alexandra had already changed her clothes in the changing room.
