The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 49

Chapter 49

Cecilia was also a little surprised. In the past, he had never stayed over when she asked him to stay.

However, she was also happy that he stayed the night with them, so she quickly asked the maids to prepare.

The couple’s and Carson’s bedrooms were both on the third floor.

Alexandra and Emery would definitely share the same room tonight, and Julian’s guest room was next to Emery’s bedroom.

Cecilia had already prepared the bed and pajamas. Alexandra could see how meticulous she was. She had also prepared toiletries for her in the bathroom. They were all brand new.

When Julian went upstairs, he passed their room and heard the two girls chatting happily. He didn’t know what they were talking about.

The next morning, Alexandra didn’t wake up until dawn.

Emery had yet to wake up.

Alexandra got up from the bed. She was thirsty and badly wanted to drink water, so she opened the door and wanted to go downstairs.

After opening the bedroom door and walking out, she yawned and stretched her body.

Before she could finish stretching, she heard the door next to her bedroom open.

She turned her head and almost broke her waist.

Wondering if she was still in her dream and was seeing things, she quickly rubbed her eyes and realized Julian was standing two steps away with one hand in his pocket.

Julian never slept in, especially in other people’s homes.

He had already washed up and dressed neatly. As soon as he stepped out of the door, he saw Alexandra in orange pajamas stretching at the

door next door.

She was like a kitten that had just woken up.

Without a doubt, he had scared her again.

Her round goggling eyes finally blinked twice. She lowered her voice in disbelief and said, “Mr. Ranford, why haven’t you left yet?”

Julian didn’t feel guilty as she did. He answered frankly, “You’re staying at your friend’s house, and I’m staying at my friend’s house. Is there a problem?”

“Then…” Alexandra thought about it and felt that there was no problem. “But Grams is alone at home. Aren’t you going to accompany her?”

Julian curled his lips and cald, “You care so much about Grams. Why don’t we go back and accompany her now?”

His words left Alexandra speechless.

She had just woken up. Her long hair was still messy, and her small face was fair and slightly red. Her clear eyes seemed to have melted into a lake of spring water.

Her cherry pink pouted as if something made her feel wronged.

She could tell that Julian did it on purpose.

He knew that she had come out to avoid him, but he still deliberately stayed here.

She glared at him and stormed downstairs like a tornado.

After she fetched the water and walked back, Julian had just descended the stairs.

She ignored him and went upstairs like a gust of wind without even looking at him again.

They still had to meet at breakfast.

Alexandra felt a little regretful. Why did she come to Emery’s house at the beginning?

Now, Emery said she would bring her to attend the opening ceremony of the new company. Didn’t that mean that she would always have to stay with Julian?

She felt helpless.

The Walters family was a family of four. In addition to Alexandra and Julian, the atmosphere was even more lively when it was time for

breakfast,

To attend the opening ceremony, Emery had prepared new clothes for Alexandra. Therefore, Alexandra had carefully put makeup on her delicate little face. Now sitting opposite Julian, she was so embarrassed that she wanted to bury her head in the bowl.

Julian sized up her stealthily and felt happy for no reason.

On the other hand, Cecilia looked at the two elite men at the dining table and wondered why good men couldn’t find wives.

*Julian, do you have a girlfriend?” she asked warm–heartedly.

Carson rolled his eyes and complained inwardly. “There you go again.”

Julian glanced at Alexandra and replied politely, “Mrs.. Walters, I don’t have a girlfriend yet.”

“Oh! Can you guys stop thinking about work all day? There are so many socialites in Highclere City. Why don’t you pick one and go after her!”

Carson seemed to turn a deaf ear to his mother’s words.

Julian smiled. “Mrs… Walters, love is not a game. I can’t rush it.”

“No hurry at all. Ask your grandmother if she’s in a hurry. Oh, right, I heard that you’re engaged to the Doherty family. Old Mrs.. Ranford even went to them to propose marriage. What happened after that? Miss Veronica Doherty is an outstanding lady. You’ll be a perfect match if she marries you!” Cecilia said concernedly

Alexandra suddenly felt the void in her heart.

She tried hard to swallow the food in her mouth several times, but she could not swallow it.

Everyone thought highly of Julian and Veronica.

Besides, Julian liked the piano so much. Did he also have feelings and fantasies for her?

She felt strange.

She lowered her head even more.

Julian glanced at her and said politely, “Mrs… Walters, marriage depends on the right time, place, and people.”

Carson knew that Jullian was married, but definitely not with Veronica.

He coughed lightly and said, “Mom, you should care about your son first!”

“Didn’t I care about you? How many blind dates have I arranged for you? Everyone thinks that we are swindlers because you stand them up every time!”

Everyone was speechless.

Chapter 49

After breakfast, it was almost time to leave for the opening ceremony.

The new company was a little far from the Walters family, so they set off early Cecilia dressed up nicely and looked like a wealthy lady.

She took the two girls in one car while the other men took the other.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the building where the new company was located.

Although the company was newly started, they bought an office building.

The opening ceremony was held in the cafe on the top floor of the office building. The Walters family booked the entire place. Only the partners and business friends were invited.

Alexandra was not interested in doing business, so she and Emery found a quiet place to have coffee and snacks.

Julian was a legendary figure in the business world of Highclere City, so he was naturally the target of many people. As soon as he entered the venue, he was surrounded by many businessmen.

Alexandra held an exquisite cherry cake and looked at him, who everyone in the crowd admired.

A faint smile was on his face, but Alexandra could tell he was not really happy. He was just trying to maintain business courtesy

When someone toasted him, he would occasionally take a sip of red wine.

However, he did not seem to talk much, as if he was unwilling to talk to those people.

Emery noticed her gaze. She leaned closer to her and asked, “Isn’t Julian very handsome? Although my brother is the most handsome in my heart, to be honest, I’d rather give the first place to Julian

Alexandra took a bite of the cake as if to hide something and said, “I don’t think so! Is he very handsome?”

Emery continued, “Although many bad things are circulating online, I don’t think Julian is like what the internet says.”

Alexandra looked at her,

Emery kept saying, “Because he’s my brother’s good friend! My brother is such a good person, so his friends must be very good too! That’s why I

don’t believe those rumors online!”

Alexandra muttered softly, “I know”

I knew that Julian was very good

“What did you say?”

“No, I said the cake was delicious.”

She smiled, not saying anything. And then she looked away and stopped paying attention to Julian.

As the two were enjoying the cake, a waiter in a shirt and suit passed by with a tray before suddenly turning around. “Alexandra?”
