Samantha, feeling a bit awkward, said, "Miss, are you sure you haven't seen someone by that name at your hotel? Maybe just think it over again?"

As she spoke, she discreetly pulled out another stack of cash from her bag and placed it on the counter. The receptionist, unfazed, pushed the money right back. "Miss, either you book a room or leave. Stop wasting my time." This receptionist was tough as nails.

Looks like I need to change my approach. She took the returned money and smiled. "Fine then, I'll take a room."

The receptionist finally accepted the cash and checked her in. Once the transaction was complete, she handed Samantha a room key before returning to her duties, leaving Samantha to figure out the next step.

With the key in hand, Samantha headed straight to the room. Upon entering, she deliberately messed up the place, making it look disheveled. Then, she picked up the phone and called for room service. Shortly after, a man wearing a mask arrived, pushing a cart. Samantha snapped, "Who are you? Should I call the manager to deal with this?"

The man's voice was calm and collected. "The manager isn't available. But if you think the room is dirty, I can clean it for you."

That voice... Why does it sound so familiar?

Samantha's eyes narrowed as she stared at the man. "Take off your mask. Let me see your face."

The man coughed lightly and replied, "Sorry, miss. I'm not feeling well. To avoid passing anything to you, it's better if I keep the mask on."

No, this voice is way too familiar.

Samantha stepped closer, blocking the man's path. Without waiting for a reaction, she reached out and yanked the mask off his face. Caught off guard, the man averted his gaze.

"Sylvan," she whispered.

He lowered his eyes. "You've got the wrong person, miss. I'm not Sylvan."

However, she wasn't buying it. Her eyes were sharp, and there was no mistaking his face. He is undoubtedly Sylvan.

Grabbing his arm, she said firmly, "Stop hiding. Ive already recognized you. What's the point in denying it now?"

Sylvan's face went pale as he looked at Samantha. "Now that you've recognized me, are you planning to expose me online? Let those relentless reporters know where I'm working?" Do I really come across as that kind of person?

"I came here today to find you," Samantha replied, her voice calm.

Find me?

"For what? I don't even know you," he said flatly.

She smiled. "But I know you, Sylvan. You've been my idol for years. Even after that scandal, when everyone turned their backs on you, I still believed in you. I know you were framed."

"And?" His tone was indifferent. "Why does that matter?"

Samantha gestured for him to sit down and continued, "I'm starting my own talent agency. It's new, and fresh faces might take years to build a reputation. But if I bring someone like you on board, a seasoned professional, my agency will get recognized much faster. Plus, I'm producing a series right now, and I need a male lead. Honestly, with your looks alone, you're the perfect fit. So, what do you think? Would you like to sign with me and join my agency?"

Her voice softened as she made her pitch. "I promise, I'll help clear your name and back on top."

Sylvan looked at her like she was telling a joke. "Kid, how old are you?"

Samantha felt a wave of rejection wash over her.
