Reshod had never learned to read or write, but he was a natural at painting magnificent landscapes with lush greens that captured the hilltops and meadows extraordinarily.

Dashet too, had met Reshod. Pleased with the new gardens, he felt they beautifully accented the positive atmosphere of The Sound Factory with the smells and physical presentation of the beauty the walls hid. Having their solitude so heavily protected, it was easy to get used to the new normal of the drab of concrete, so the small little insects and rodents, as well as the colors of the foliage, delightfully made their home feel as close to normal as possible. They actually hit it off as Dashet soon taught him a few notes on the guitar and gave him a tour of the paintings, artwork, poems and sonnets of the inhabitants.

As his unofficial guide, this allowed Dashet to learn Reshod and what brought him to the compound. Still surprised that Straffe allowed his presence, Dashet trusted his mentor, thus negating his reservations and concerns, welcoming Reshod with open arms. And once Dashet welcomed him, the entire clan followed suit. Yet, the dogs still growled.
